      hahaha - thank you! I am but one man - trying to make sure I'm making videos at a pace that I will be able to sustain :) I've been considering making an additional video each week that is shorter though - like one game. Not sure how that would feel?

    Than you for the video, the commentary during the game is very insightful !
    I have 2 questions tho :
    -I play on Exaltered (at low ELO) and Ia face many Hydracaena or persistent Blade dancers etc that lead me to include Boom in my deck. How do you deal with these without it ?
    -How do you manage a game were you pull 0 haven ? It happens to me to pull only one that get discard in some way.
    Thanks again.

      Thank you for watching!
      We can go under the Hydra decks pretty consistently where we are getting a strong lead before they can safely cast hydra. Often it's the case where the turn they cast hydra, we can still pull that hydra lane and the other. Even if we can't, the goal is often to just be ahead at the time hydra comes out, and then aim to trade lane for lane until close. Eventually, hooked can be good to just stack up their hydra lane for this, and if they play a second hydra then hooked can group them up.
      Haven is definitely the best card in the deck/axiom. Just have to rely on the power of the 1 mana 2/2/2s each turn and to try to edge ahead of your opponent with what you have. Brassbug hive gives another top end option for inevitability if we're not seeing haven.

    Cool deck and insightful commentary!
    1. I feel like rare axiom salvager is a huge upgrade and would love to run the rare in a subhash list.
    would you drop 1 or 2 hooked? or both inaris? or a 3rd hive? (I'd drop 2 hives for the ada lovelace rares)
    2. How do you feel about dropping frankenstien for the common version?
    3. Would you run common hooked over kelon elemental? (in case you need more commons and dropped a copy or 2 of the rare hooked)

    • @emergentellio
      @emergentellio  2 місяці тому +1

      Great qs!
      1. I agree I really like rare axiom salvager, and wouldnt hate it. I'd suggest keeping at least 1 hive because of the upside opportunity in the places that it is good; but either hooked or Inari's I think are reasonable things to drop - dropping hooked will lower your ability to go long, and dropping inari will lower your ability to go under your opponents; but both are reasonable trade-offs. With the replaced card (since salvager will replace itself), youll need new commons - I'd suggest wither Ogun or Foundry Armorer (Going inari -> armorer and upgrading salvager, imho - is the cleanest path).
      2. I don't love this - similar to the way Rare Axiom salvager is a very sweet upgrade, the 1 mana on the side you care about for Frankenstein is pretty big - and Frankenstein doesn't lose any stats to get that 1 mana downgrade (unlike salvager). The nice thing about 2 mana frank is that even if you don't find any landmarks, the body is still formidable and useful for the cost. If your dropping hives, its more likely you play Frank in that form, and the common one would feel bad (where-as currently it feels like one of the best draws). That being said; anything is worth trying - there are definitely worse cards than common frankenstein.
      3. I'm personally not as huge a fan of common hooked; losing the draw is big (especially when you are putting a card in reserve each turn). I'd go for Ogun or Foundry Armorer first - the purpose of Kelon Elemental is mostly having a decently sized 2-drop body from reserve.

    Hey man, what are your thoughts on building subhash as a brassbug deck and using the passive pressure it generates? The rare hive has so much potential and i think it only need a few more synergy tools to be very powerful

    • @emergentellio
      @emergentellio  2 місяці тому

      The rare hive is definitely really strong if it sticks. I think my only concern with it is it's a little more fragile. If you don't get, or if the hive is removed with a sticky notes/cloth cocoon/etc; you feel in a weaker position. But Subhash *is* the best at consistently making bugs; so if you want to go heavy on it Subhash is the hero to do it with.
      You have the options of either trying to rush out the hive (foundry mechanic, martengale, frog prince); or going deeper on things that make bugs (brassbug hub, foundry armorers, etc)

      @@emergentellio From my limited experience in the game, it seems that going wide has less counterplay than relying on fewer big threats, specially if it requires little to no resource commitment (Sigismar, Kojo, Subhash). I'm hoping they add some anthem effects in common slots to consolidate this playstyle

    How do you determine when to throw your "eggs in the one basket" so to speak. At 55 mins you put both robots(eggs) on right with both of y'all 2 away. Were you concerned about Issitoq? Are there any indicators you saw up until that point that made you not worried about Issitoq? Later going into the final round you decided to split power with an egg on each lane. Is the switch there because before you just wanted to drain resources of the opponent to effectively not lose, threatening a won lane with the eggs and a must answer Coppelia? And then in the final you know you have bigger stats so the split helped force them to work harder to advance one and go to OT - and also just threatens an outright loss by losing both like what we saw?

    • @emergentellio
      @emergentellio  2 місяці тому

      It's a great q. I was worried about issitoq; but i was also worried about my draw not being particularly strong (coppellia being only unit) for putting power onto the board. I was a little worried that if i split up at this point, with the amount of cards that he had, he'd be able to sneak through a win on both lanes and put me away for the game. I'm not sure if I managed this perfectly; but the thinking was that if he did issitoq, at least I'd be losing just the turn and not the game, and hopefully my fuel in future turns could help me catch up. The final round was different because i had the cards to actually put power on the board, and so I wasn't as worried about losing both lanes, I felt I had the gas that I could threaten both.
      As said, I'm sure I didn't do it perfectly, but that was the thinking at the time

    Does hooked give an additional boost to robots when Brassbug is present?

    • @emergentellio
      @emergentellio  2 місяці тому

      It does not - the Hooked reminder text is annoyingly useless and misleading. Joining an 'expedition' is different from joining/leaving the 'expedition zone'.

    As a SubHash main myself, I feel like Salvager is a trap that does very little for you.

    • @emergentellio
      @emergentellio  2 місяці тому

      Interesting - I definitely personally disagree; I think Salvager is one of the reasons to be playing Axiom to begin with. I'm closer to upgrading it to rare than removing it! The ability to refuel is big for a hero that can run out of gas; and digging towards + synergizing with the best card (Haven) feels essential. What do you run instead? Do you go more of a robot route with Ogun?
