After the last n4max update, all of my issues are gone. I'm very pleased with it. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the advice and feedback on printers. Nothing like getting it from a guy who prints a LOT! I just picked up my first big FDM printer, the Anycubic Kobra 2 Max. I haven't even owned it a week and I'm thinking seriously about returning it and getting a Qidi Xmax 3. Severely disappointed in it. After some intial print successes, now I only get failed prints, even benchys. If the Xmax 3 is way more reliable and has almost the same build volume, it'd be worth paying almost double the price of the K2M. I know that no 3D printer is perfect, but jeez, failing prints after 2 days of use on a brand-new printer? Ridiculous.

I am pretty much done with my Neptune 4 Max, it is so hit or miss. I just need something that is going to work. It's a means to an end for me, not a lifestyle, lol.
Got the big glob of death on my hot end this weekend after 6 months of luck. But even after using a lot of the advice online I still don't get a clean first layer across the entire build plate.
Looking at a replacement that I can do bigger stuff. I have a prusa MK3 which is BULLETPROOF, never had any issues over 5 years with it, but the neptune...... damn. I haven't done any of the rail replacement or hardware replacement just tweaks.

I refunded my N4 max after numerous bed issues.... open neptune didnt fix it and it had burned through pom wheels in two months of testing....

Definitely agree on core xy is the way to go. But I have a customer that I think has at least a size 50 chest not sure how that measurement works. and I can’t decide on a 400mm plus size printer to buy. I have it down to three the Elegoo Neptune 4 max, Kobra 2 max and the creality CR M4 that I will put my sonic pad on for klipper.

I just printed a 50” chest piece on my Elegoo Neptune 4 Max and it turned out great. My Anycubic needs new x axis U wheels now for the hotend assembly. 🤦‍♂️ It’s always something with these two machines. Lol

Trying to figure out which printer to get to print something like the Mandalorian Specialist Helmet, but I want to scale it up because my head is huge. For an idea of size, does that print on the Neptune 4 with room to spare? Would it print inside that Quidi MAX you mentioned, with scaling room? I just picked up my first printer, the Creality V3 SE, and I'm quickly learning a number of things, such as, it's too small...

    • @OuterRimArmorer
      @OuterRimArmorer  2 місяці тому

Most Mandalorian helmets I’ve printed have fit on my Qidi X-Max 3. The big helmets prints like Starkiller’s helmets I have to print on the Elegoo Neptune 4 Max. It’s mainly used for full size chest armor but sometimes I print helmets on it too.

My Anycubic just broke again. I think it worked for maybe 6 prints. 🤦‍♂️👎 one of the Elegoo’s are working again. Part for my other one just arrived. I’m always repairing these printers. 🤦‍♂️ I bought the Sovol SV08 thinking maybe they could replace my bedslingers but they’re even worse. 😡 It blows me away that they ship out printers that don’t even work properly. Zero product quality control.

Hey, kind sir. I have a question. Have you had issues with PETG sticking to the nozzle, build-ing up and then depositing during print (I see it happens when I print solid infills). So, have you had issues like this and have you found a solution? Thank you!

No I don’t think the Anycubic is faster than the Elegoo. I print around 200-250mms on both my machines though. Any faster and the print quality decreases.
I find the Anycubic auto bed leveling feature much nicer than manually bed leveling. In fact I modified my Elegoo’s to be auto bed leveling like my Anycubic is.
I only prefer my Elegoo’s over the Anycubic because I’ve added
Linear rails to mine and it’s greatly improved the printer’s performance. Both printers get hotend clogs from the stupid little Bowden tube inside the hotend. You can find bimetal throat for the Anycubic though. Haven’t had much luck finding one for the Elegoo. I did replace my stock Bowden tubes with a Capricorn one that I found on Amazon. That seems to have helped so far. I have a couple 350x350 CoreXY printers in order. If they end up working better, they might replace my Elegoo’s and Anycubic.

@luciacalderon5417 just got a anycubic max you can replace the metal spacers with silicon spacers then manualy flatten/level the bed with a dial indicator attached to the extruder, this should help even out the bed alot
