I was gifted a ton of pre-k through 1st grade workbooks, plus bought a ton on sale from end of last school year. We just work through them, and my kids love it. I decluttered our homeschool space and made our school days consist of less subjects and it’s been amazing. Plus our activity cupboard had a MAJOR purge, as we had supplies sitting in there for 3 years that they never used. So throwing out that stuff and then organizing and making the stuff they were still interested in more accessible.
The first video I saw of yours was a messy to minimal episode that Sarah Therese pointed me to!!! Ever since then I’ve been loving your channel and also your inspiration you’ve truly made and impact on my life and my minimalism journey!!!! ❤️❤️
My daughter is only starting school next year, but she is so advanced and I love doing some homeschooling activities with her, so you gave me some good ideas! I'm in the process of organizing my whole house at the moment and this video has definitely given me some motivation. Thank you! 📚
I was planning to have my daughter start preschool this fall and I was going to find a job, but due to the pandemic, I decided to stay home with her for another year. I'm happy to have another year with her and looking forward to doing some fun preschool lessons and learning playtime with her at home.
I'm in Washington state too! Isn't our state beautiful?! We'll be starting our 17th year of homeschooling this coming school year. Our three oldest kids have graduated from our homeschool, started mid-stream with them, and we have a 12 year old and a nine-year-old this year. I've accumulated a lot of homeschool materials over my 17 years. My sister was one of the homeschool pioneers and when she finished homeschooling, she gave me ALL her materials!! I'm getting into more of a minimalist mindset these days, so I'm going through my homeschool supplies. It's hard but feels so good all at the same time. Thanks for the inspiration!
I don’t have kiddos yet but I’m student teaching at my church’s school this year while I’m attending college. Definitely going to be different this year!
For our 2nd grader we are doing virtual school through his elementary. Our school district is doing a schedule of kids going to school every other day and the day they are home they will do virtual school. We have taken the option of 100% virtual. We just feel like that is safest for us. We have also pulled our twin boys out of preschool. I will be homeschooling them this year with the hopes of sending them to kindergarten at the elementary next school year. It's all so overwhelming!!!! But I am confident we will thrive. We loved homeschooling last school year during the quarantine. My kids really enjoyed it and learned a lot. The hardest part will be keeping my 20 month old busy so we can have good focused instruction time. Wish me luck!
I used Abeka since preschool, and now my oldest of five sweet kiddos is in 8th, and I'm using a couple of new curriculums this year. It'll be a fun year with My Father's World as my spine, and then Abeka and Master Books for language arts and math. Im excited to use something new for a few subjects. 💗😄
I live in San Diego and I am a third grade teacher. I know for us we are starting distance learning online for fall and hopefully back to school after that. I know I need to get my area for teaching online ready 😊
Wow I have the same grades Fifth, third, kinder, and toddler. I homeschooled for five years then we moved to a rural area and my kids wanted to have a school experience so they went two years in a public school but amazing Christian teachers and friends. This is gods country is the attitude here, thankful for that. Now we'll be back at home due to Covid. I used to do my own curriculum and we are going to try epic charter school this time. That's the consensus and I think I can manage that better than all four at the table. What does your family do...
Emmy Love that’s awesome that you have such a nice community there! I started out using a box curriculum and then branches out to picking things for different subject areas. I actually have a YT channel if you want to see what we’re using this year. It can be challenging for sure, but I’m thankful for the option to homeschool.
If someone has already suggested this I apologize but recently I have seen Dollar Tree have these really nice plastic, gray, almost lace design bins that I think would be perfect for the shelf, you should check out to see if they’re big enough?? I will say this you’ll have to try and find them at like the largest Dollar Tree you can find as I don’t seem to find them at smaller stores
📚 I’m a kindergarten teacher (my kids are all grown up) and we are waiting to see what school will look like. It is nerve wracking! I have decluttered my classroom, but will be going over it again. Having a minimal, organized classroom goes a long way! Thank you for the motivation. ❤️
We just started school today 100% remote learning in our district. My twins are going to be preschool homeschool I decluttered all my school stuff before we started to see what we needed too before I purchased anything. You have inspired me in all your messy to minimal videos seen them all and loved them! 📚
📚 I am a homeschooling Mom. Been for only three years. I honestly tried once before the time wasn't right than. Now it is. I love it and I enjoy. I'm learning to teach my daughter's with her learning difficulties.
🙋🏼♀️ homeschooling for the first time!! Terrified and excited at the same time 😬 it’s only preschool though so I’m thankful I can somewhat ease into it. I’m also going back and binging all of your homeschool content haha 🤣
You guys should try making homemade playdough as a fun project. It's fairly easy and lasts a lot longer. My mom always made it with us as kids and I actually just made some with a friend's daughter recently.
I have a 2nd and 1st grader and a 2 year old. We will be virtual learninv through the school for this year. So i need to go through the crafts and supplies we will need. I so needed this video thank you! 📚 been watching all the declutter videos!
📚I'm probably one of not many watching without kids, but I wouldn't miss a messy to minimal episode! I'll be starting grad school at University of Washington in a couple of months, but my classes are all online so I'm postponing my move to Seattle for now. I definitely need to set up a good home work space!
My 3 year old was supposed to start preschool this fall, but due to current circumstances his PK3 class was cancelled (plus I’ll have a newborn this November and don’t want him bringing home extra germs) so he’ll be learning at home for at least the first half of this school year. Bring on the homeschool videos! It definitely helps me get excited for this year and get over the disappointment of him “missing” his first year of school 😊
📚 Hello Natalie... Thanks for the inspo! I am 6th grade teacher in México. We were supposed to start working today but we are still waiting to hear from our principal 🤷 At least I can start by declutering today for My son and my own supplies 👍 God bless your family ❤️
So excited to be here. Natalie, I enjoy your channel so very much. Also your openness about your faith. I would love to be able to do a Bible study with you one day.
I have an 18 month old so it’ll be about two full years before we jump into a more structured homeschool routine, but I LOVE all the homeschool content!! I can’t wait to homeschool my kids!
📚 been watching these videos since the beginning and I love them. Me and my fiancé also decided to homeschool his daughter starting this year. So I’m a new homeschool step mom for a kindergartener
📚 The first video I saw of yours was your garage cleaning. Been hooked since :) This video has given me good ideas for my nephew (not yet 2), and my own schooling as I upgrade and refresh my memory:) Thank you :)
We have done the brainquest pre-K and the summer brainquest between pre-K and k they are awesome! We are doing the highlights pre-K with my twins this year at 3.5 years old so they can do school like their older sister
I would have to put the basket that was on the top in one of those underneath tubs and some of the books as well but that’s OCD me, it looks very nice ❤️❤️
I love decluttering videos! I’m definitely not looking for school supplies as my kids now have kids of their own! My grandson starts full-time school in September and he’ll be just four at the end of August. It’s very young but that’s the system in the UK: you start the term after your fourth birthday. He’s very bright so I think he’ll be ok. 📚
📚 no kids of my own, but I’m a teacher and always like to see how different families prepare for BTS! Love your videos, Natalie! Your whole messy to minimal series has inspired me to clean lots of rooms in my home! Keep doin’ whatcha doin’! ❤️
📚 I am waiting to find out what my school board desides coming up on August 4th for my 11 year old. We will be for sure distance/ homeschooling our 3 year old as he has a medical condition that makes him immune compromised. It is a scary time trying to make decisions based on incomplete information. I have my two list going for what my kids need for both scenarios. Really enjoying you messy to minimal series as I have been going though a big declutter of my life too. It is amazing how nearly losing your child to multi organ system failure do to something so small can change how you see the world and things in your house and life. You and your channels have been a gift from God over the last few months. Can't wait to see your next video.
📚 Hey! My twinboys are firstgraders and the year is almost finished. We had 3 month of homeschooling and they went back to school 3 weeks ago. After summer break its seems that there will be normal school life. Your video motivates me to go through the whole stuff from the first year. Papers, creative stuff... 🙈 But i can do it to start the new school year fresh organized
Video idea maybe a decluttering must have list like things you’ve listened to while doing it, the pillow on the floor so you don’t break your knees just like random things you’ve found you need to declutter like bins, organizers etc!
I absolutely loved this video and you’ve definitely inspired me 🙏🏼 Thank you! We moved from Seattle to Woodinville last fall and I’m still unpacking/decluttering with a now 6, 4 and newly 2 year old. We’re diving in to homeschool with the littles soon and still undecided wether or not we will attempt to do the remote district learning program with our 1st grader 😬
Bravo. Fellow homeschooler 🙌🏻 we are in NY and rules and regs are very strict 😟 all three at home have always been home educated. One going into 8 one into 6 and one 11th! We school year round but change grades September 1st. Huzzah to your school year!
I would love to see how you learned to do homeschooling. I have a 3 yr old and would love recommendations on your process. Maybe how your routine goes? And do your kids have a hard time doing partial days at school and part days at home? Thank you! Love your videos!
Such great questions. I can definitely answer the first right now. I was homeschooled my whole life and as the oldest of 5 kids I had a lot of experience helping them with their school! After high school I worked as a homeschool parents' in-home assistant for a couple of families and gained some more experience there too. But honestly someone could start from square one with ZERO experience and do a wonderful job.
My son will be entering kindergarten this year. The school is offering an option to do either physical school or virtual school. As much as I don't want him to miss on the social aspect, we've decided to virtual school. We don't want to risk it if we don't have to!
Homeschooling for the 2nd year I have a 2nd grader and 1st grader then a 2 and 3 yr old this next year😁 all boys🥰🥰 am in the process of watching your messy to minimal need to do it with my own homeschool stuff
I have two boys 4 -preK and 6(in August) starting 1st grade in the fall but because of COVID we will be remote learning/homeschooling. More homeschooling videos would be amazing!
Im in college and my school is online this semester so this gave me great motivation to clean and organize my desk I have at home that usaly has random stuff on it
I will be teaching Pre-K 3 year old class this year and also have a child going into Preschool. I’m not sure what either will look like for me as a teacher or my son as a preschooler. I hoping to find out more within the next few weeks. 📚
Natalie, I have also been decluttering school stuff and all the game, art, and puzzles collections! We have homeschooled from the start, and plan to keep doing so for now. My eldest child is going into first grade, my second is going through another round of preschool (we started early to keep him busy, haha!) , And my toddler will probably be getting into stuff the whole time! I had to get rid of some games and puzzles that we didn't use or that were missing pieces.
Love your videos Nat! It’s such a bummer that we can’t use play dough at preschool. If it makes your life easier, by all means buy it! But if you have the time, I love making play dough with kids! Super easy, great learning opportunity for the kiddos and it lasts all the same. The only thing you need that you may not have is cream of tartar! Just flour, salt and oil. The kids love to stir and measure, I made it part of our monthly schedule 😊
Hi Natalie! Love the series! Have you done a messy to minimal episode where you go through your digital space? Emails, desktop, phone apps, streaming services, subscriptions, etc? I just cleaned up my UA-cam subscriptions and uninstalled some apps from my phone and it was felt so nice 😊
Nope! I've chosen to keep that side of my life more private! There's so much business and confidential stuff that shooting and editing those videos would be so challenging!
There is a delayed & staggered start for us here in Ontario Canada... We r sending daughters back to school (Gr1&9)...they need the structure & socialization after being home since March break!
Love the video! My oldest is starting 6th grade this year our county is doing in person or video distance learning and we can switch to either or every 9 weeks so our plan is first 9 weeks so at home and then if the world is a little less crazy send him back to in person the next lol So it was helpful still to see your little set up area 😃
Awsome video, Natalie! My mom has homeschooled almost all 8 of her kids. She has 3 left☺️ Are you going to do a Fall clean and decorating video? I love Autumn❤
Homeschooled our 4 children and the youngest child has just turned 21. Decided I could get rid of the homeschool books. It was so hard to let those books and supplies go because it filled our days every single day for years.
My 8 year old is struggling with reading! I ordered him the set. Can’t beat $63. Thank you📚We are a homeschooling family and use ACE. Momma to 5, the 3 oldest are school age. Ages 14, 10 and 8😊
Planning to homeschool again but made the sad decision not to do enrichment at least for the fall because our medically fragile daughter is having major back surgery and we can’t risk the exposure. I’m finally learning to declutter a bunch of homeschool stuff I was given that I don’t use. I’ve definitely found my preferences and was given so much that I don’t or haven’t used or won’t use again. It’s hard to get rid of but I’m finally making progress in that and learning my kids learning styles and my teaching style which helps with making these decisions.
I would love to get my 3 year old the Melissa and Doug learn to write dry erase you showed where did you get it. It would be such a great addition to our summer time learning.
I have a almost three year old. Would you be able to make a how to start at home pre school? Just the basics I’m guessing this is for ages 3-5? Thank you!
Last year I began homeschooling our son after retiring from teaching (21 years). I am so glad we have a routine already in place - many of my friends are quickly deciding to homeschool since things are so uncertain. Do you know how hard it is to accept the freedom of homeschooling after teaching in a classroom for 20 years?😂😂😂😂I think I rearranged and reorganized four times last year! I appreciate you sharing your experience with us❤️. PS- we are doing fourth grade and I have a daughter half way through her bachelors degree🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻.
I have a Kindergartner this year and I am here for this! The more homeschool videos the better!! ♥♥
Kinder mom here too 😄
Agreed the more homeschooling the better!
Right there with ya!!
Yes please 😀

Clutter just seems to build up so quickly! I’m really enjoying following your journey to minimalism 😊
It does with this many people in the house and a job in social media!
I’d love to see a school lunch video!
Noted! Thanks!
Yes, I love to find out what other people are serving their kids/what they pack!
My daughter is only starting school next year, but she is so advanced and I love doing some homeschooling activities with her, so you gave me some good ideas! I'm in the process of organizing my whole house at the moment and this video has definitely given me some motivation. Thank you! 📚
📚 prepping for preschool anyone else a preschool mama this year?
Me! My daughter is turning 3 this week
Yes! We have been doing Blossom and Root :D
I recently found your channel and am quickly going through all your decluttering videos. This is my favorite type of video. Love it!
📚 We are homeschooling, but had planned on that before all of the current situation happened. So excited to get started!!🙌🏻

My little girl is starting online kindergarten in Texas and I’m so excited to watch your video to get ideas, I just love all you do ✨❤️📚

13:33 he is very talented 🤩. I‘m painting, too since I was a little kid.
📚 Prepping for our first year of kindergarten homeschool this year! Thanks for the inspiration!
There are great play dough recipes and they are softer and last longer if you make your own. Have a great school year!
Would love to see a day in the life of what you do for a full school at home day
I live in San Diego and I am a third grade teacher. I know for us we are starting distance learning online for fall and hopefully back to school after that. I know I need to get my area for teaching online ready 😊
We’ll be starting our 8th year of homeschooling! 🤗 I can’t believe I’ll have a 5th, 3rd, kindergarten, and toddler. Loving this declutter series!
Wow I have the same grades
Fifth, third, kinder, and toddler. @@CalledtoCultivate yes I will be checking out your videos soon to see what you'll be doing this year
Thank you for the invite 😊
📚 I have loved these messy to minimal episodes!
I'm so glad. Thanks so much for watching and following along this journey!
📚 I have followed this series since May 2020 and it is truely the best!!! Going on a rewatch binge (while waiting for the new house uploads haha)
📚 I’m a kindergarten teacher (my kids are all grown up) and we are waiting to see what school will look like. It is nerve wracking! I have decluttered my classroom, but will be going over it again. Having a minimal, organized classroom goes a long way! Thank you for the motivation. ❤️
I would love to see a new favorites video or make up tutorial. I love the DITL videos but also would enjoy a casual sit down video.
I've got a favorites video planned!
You’re such an organized girl! Such a passionate momma homeschooling her kids.
You can make “Play-Doh” with flour and food colourant and reuse the old containers to store it. Great video.
We just started school today 100% remote learning in our district. Also, if you buy washable food dye, it won't stain hands or surfaces when you dye the dough.
Lol I love your pillow on the floor method 😂 I still have my knee pads from when I was in volleyball and I wear them while I clean #noshame 😂😂
renovating my house and adding 2 new school rooms. homeschooling for the first time the upcoming school year and im really hoping it goes well.

📚 I am trying preschool homeschool this year. My daughter is only 2.5 but I am a former teacher. I would love to see your journey!
📚. I already homeschooled. But always love seeing more stuff. Always looking for ideas!
You had me at extreme declutter.
📚 Such a huge fan of these Decluttering video! Great inspiration to declutter my stuff
Play-doh is soooooooo easy to make! My daughter loves making custom colors.
I am currently prepping to start preschool with my daughter this Fall. I am SO excited!
📚 Hi there, my two kids are nowhere near the school age but I love watching your videos. Keep up the good work!
I just redid our homeschool room and it was a CHORE lol but feels sooo good when its done!!
📚I really am loving these videos!
📚📚📚 I year-round homeschool, so we have actually already started the new school year! 2nd grade and pre-k.
📚📚 love these videos they’re so satisfying and motivating!!!
📚 We happen to have twin boys also and doing the same as you. They go to preschool 2 mornings each week and homeschool the other 2-3 days.
📚 my daughter is only two but we like watching all your videos together x
Love the video! My oldest is starting 6th grade this year our county is doing in person or video distance learning and we can switch to either or every 9 weeks so our plan is first 9 weeks so at home and then if the world is a little less crazy send him back to in person the next lol So it was helpful still to see your little set up area 😃
Awsome video, Natalie!
My mom has homeschooled almost all 8 of her kids. She has 3 left☺️
Are you going to do a Fall clean and decorating video?
I love Autumn❤
I am! 🍁
📚I have watched them all and love your videos! My daughter is not of school age yet.
Ages 14, 10 and 8😊
I'd love to know where that spinning abc wheel came from?! I've been searching but can't find that exact one. I love it!
I wonder if adding labels/pictures to the cubes with drawers would help the kids with putting the toys and supplies back where they go.
Where did you get the 3 letter block thing? The one on a dowel with the pictures? That’s so cool
I bought them from Hollar. Com!
📚great job! I watched this while decluttering and to motivate me.
