I actually have a dive horn from a sub .my ex father in law was 23 years retired NAVY Chief Petty Officer during Korea and Vietnam he put a Rotary switch on a a/c cord and plug it plugs into any standard house 110 and with go as long as I have it on and insanely loud..lol I got it in the 1990s
The diving alarm is sounded twice to signal a dive and three times for surfacing, and is accompanied by either the announcement "dive, dive" or "surface, surface, surface."
@@rudi_ghuliani three of those awoogas. Normal surfacing doesn't earn the alarm (consider that the boat is probably at periscope-depth before surfacing normally anyway).
Diving is not man your stations. Diving indicates that your about to dive and to ground yourself for the gravitational G force out on your body that submarines cause. When diving in submarines you literally physically change body positions at an angle
"AAAAAAAAAAAALLAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRM" -a german Submarine driver
ah.... i see you're a man of culture aswell
FLUUUTEN!!! (The command to dive on a german submarine) In translation it means something like flood!
they actually still say that on their 212 class submarine

Hearing that gives me a "sinking" feeling
It did to me, too
@Amed Tajan Hahaha

I feel like we have “sunk” to a new low!
Please, do not touch rock bottom
Interesting how the handles are different shapes so you can tell the difference in the dark or low light.
Thanks for pointing that out to me!
I want to put that one on my car for car washes.
Lol
Does anyone else love waking up to that alarm?

That's so cool! I would love to see a video of it.

What are the terms/ procedures for a crash dive or emergency blow?
@@rudi_ghuliani I would guess something similar to "oh fuck..."

I honestly wonder if some WW2 veterans who served aboard submarines get flashbacks when they hear that sound.
I'd be traumatized by that sound! I actually like liked our surface GQ alarm.
AWHOOOOGGHA!!!
The Mask movie.
The one alarm you never, ever, ever want to hear when you're serving aboard a surface warship.
