One of the things I was interested at, was the different sound of Spyro Gyra created by the vibes of Dave Samuels (r.i.p), The sound gives the special touch ! this is why You can recognize that the group is "on" the intervention of this great musician is wonderful. Wether it is one or another composition of Spryro -Gyra, you enjoy all of them. Thanks a lot to Jay Beckenstein and Dave Samuels., God bless them.
Rip Dave ..... glad I got to see you both with Spyro Gyra and solo.....it was great to also meet you....you will be missed.... thanks for the memories......
I studied with Dave while he was teaching at William Paterson College (University now) during the spring semester of 1980. Above and beyond his incredible musicianship and ability to teach (hard to find both qualities in one person) he was an exemplary, 1st class human being. RIP 😢❤
What a shame that there are no longer artists like Dave Samuels, I remember that on a CD by Deborah Jenson, Dave Samuels with his vibraphone played as if many raindrops were falling from the sky, as if it were raining With Spyro Gyra I loved listening to it
His series "Carribean Jazz Project" features, to my ears, his best work. Getting Dave Valentin to play on a recent recording in that series , along with Brecker's trumpet on another one, are my favs.

Love you Dave. RIP brother
Big inspiration
This is highly inspiring. The man really pulled magic out of a vibraphone. Blessings and thank you, Dave Samuels.

Beautiful, the touch, time, ideas . . . as creative and timeless as ever, definitely a 'voice'.
Big smile from an old admirer!
