Pro tip, gently tap the caps once WD40 left for 10 minutes. Helps breakup the limescale. Mine were particularly difficult, and this helped. Great video!

Great video, Ted! - Another skill I didn't know I needed, but am happy to learn it! --- Because you explain why you're doing something as you're doing it, it makes the information very versatile. Feel like I learned a lot more than just replacing taps, and that's coming form a DIY dunce like me. Cheers!

If you turn the main stopcock off, it should stop the water supply to your boiler

I’ve got some grosvenor taps 1924 tap ooze black stuff from around the tap itself when it’s turned on. Do you think it’s a similar situation; that I can use this same valve on my tap?

    Hi Big ted,
    Need your help, please.
Do you happen to know the diameter of the spindle and spline count on these valves?

I'm sorry but I don't. I've just had a look on the screwfix website and they are not listed in the specification. I also drew a blank when searching for the manufacturer. Screwfix (and amazon) are normally good with refunds if you buy them and they don't fit

Is the water turning on/off? It sounds like you haven't pushed the handles down onto the valves properly.
