- I've gotten a lot of questions about research and how to unlock hidden items to be able to progress, so I wanted to explain how paper, scrolls, and schematics all work to help you all progress easier! This is an incredibly important part of the game and outside the main craft stations for weapons and armor, arguably the most important station to maintain!
So today let's go over the research lab, study, and athenaeum so that you can progress in V Rising and get to max level!

Its stupid that the paper press is an rng drop... it should definitely be part of progression. Having this element of rng in a competitive situation really undermines your progress if you get really unlucky in your run

Yeah it is honestly pretty hidden and hard to get, but 100% worth it!

@@RedlafGaming got it on the 2nd last scroll unlock. TBF I only wanted it for papers, the recipe for scrolls and schematics seem like too much effort for a solo
I'm gear level 70 without paper or paper press discovered... They should really make them a reward for boss kills not RNG luck.
I got three paper press books by lvl 50. So unlucky :(
Paper Press is NOT random...it comes from the boss Nicholas the Fallen, a level 35 boss
Can confirm the Paper Press is unlocked via Recipe Drop Book or Random Discovery using Scrolls at the Study. I have unlocked it both ways in different playthroughs. The unlock square itself in the Study is in the top row of Structures furthest to the right.
My first paper press was random in the study, I didn't even know the press was a thing before that.
The Paper Press is DISCOVERABLE in the study. Confirmed.

I found the "Paper Press Book" on a drop from One of the Shadow Priest at the Norte.
jeez, I'm stuck at lvl 32...doing it solo, how do you guys get such high gs so fast...
I played closed testing so a lot of those learning buffs I already overcame when launch came out. Additionally an unhealthy amount of hours LOL
been playing 1.0 but these items are useless after you unlock everything they need to make items you can make with them that you use like potions but maybe we can make stat boost items that last a hour but boost your certin stats like boost your chaos burn damage or whatever but you make them with paper scrolls and scematics so they dont pile up .
I think the press is unlocked after you do researchs in both desk and study
Yeah Im not entirely sure because we got ours within like the first 3-4 hours of playing and didnt even have the study at the time. This video honestly got delayed on releasing cause I was trying to figure it out but to no avail
@@RedlafGaming i got mine after doing many researchs with paper, if you did too maybe that's the trigger

@@Max-zs6ur I've gotten everything on the research desk unlocked and still don't have it. Guides online are saying that it is from the study. I've spent my whole day grinding paper trying to unlock this, looks like I'm grinding scrolls tomorrow. By the time I unlock this thing I'm not even going to need it anymore it feels like.
OK, but what is the "research button" for on each of those research stations?! It's clickable, but appears to do nothing!!
Bring 50 paper to the research desk and click the "research" button. The paper will be used up and you'll unlock a random item there. Same with 75 scrolls in the study. It's in the study where you may unlock the Paper Press

My research desk does not have the discover button. Is this a glitch? I just started playing on ps5.

My advice for those that haven't advanced yet. First off, SAVE YOUR SILVER. There is a resource that the only current source I know of is from a trader in the Brighthaven Slums, he sells Highland Lotus seeds, which is needed to make Silk for the Sanguine Tier items (technically the "merciless dawnthorn"). Save up gems you can cut them later on.
u literally get highland lotus from harpy nests u can get hundreds it spawns the quickest
What If I can't make Paper Press yet, Is farming low level boss are the only way to get papers?
Yeah farm paper till you unlock it with the study! You'll end up jumping to the study pretty quick into the game so you'll start grinding scrolls too. Paper press is really good for then
why is schematic so incredibly expensive lmao, wouldn't killing silverlight enemies make more sense
Really comes down to your supplies but overall I think the gathering is more worth it yeah

How do you place multiple markers on the map? It keeps removing the previous one for me

Remove admins from servers they cheat all tine and teleport over all map
I've been lucky with my admins and they've been good but could definitely see an abuse there. Game should put a message in the chat when admins go into "god mode"

Your castle can get attacked and destroyed while you are OFFLINE. Found out the hard way, everything was taken. Would be nice if the game made you aware of this feature.
Also, the game allows for characters to be made in a server beyond the 50 player limit. This means that there could be 75 players in one server and if 50 players are on at the same time the other 25 cannot logging. This obviously makes the previous problem even worse, since even if I friend calls you to help defend your castle and the server it's full, you can't do shit.
Just part of the gameplay loop dude, get used to it. its exactly like Rust
