This little treasure of an island in the Ionian Sea perhaps isn't as famous as some of its neighbours like Corfu and Kefalonia, but if you take a chance on Lefkada you won't regret it. The island boasts exquisite cuisine, idyllic coastal towns and some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.

High in the hills rests Agios llias. A girl from there met a boy from Nidri & they fell in love. On that beach, near the church, there was a tiny pier. I spot a good size Octopus & call out to them. The family ate & I was hailed a hero. It was 1962 & I was 3. A year later, like so many Greeks through the ages, we left for foreign lands.
If it's near the church, that's the pier at 1:18. Appreciate the video, hope you enjoyed yourselves.
