Gotta love Dreamworks for being willing to evolve and step outside the realm of just the 3D animation they're masters at. Combining it with watercolors and messing with framerates and style changes in a movie that's essentially an 11-years-later sequel to a spin-off movie of a sequel. Didn't try to be Shrek, didn't even try to be the first movie. Attack on Titan mixed with Spider-verse is just right, but making 3D while still modeling the action after 2D was crazy.
first director is Joel crawford and he love anime and animation. You can see his action style In The Croods The New Age. Second director is januel mercado, his works is for heartwarming story. Dreamworks hired director Who knew how to do action and another director doing story obviously to fight against spiderverse movie and this movie actually better than spiderverse 2. Sadly many people didnt know this movie until this movie entered streaming service

So, even if the "Birthday rule" wasn't actually real, none of them ended up being able to make the wish in the end.
Yeah. I love it when movies are so internally accurate. Just like in Wreck it Ralph where Vanellope is seen glitching past the other cars at the end of the race at the end of the movie it used up one of her 3 glitch powers as seen when one of the 3 purple diamond things goes away. And between her race to save her world she only properly glitched 3 times in a car. I love how accurate they can be.

I don't see death losing to Tai lung. He seems to have teleportation, the ability to be hidden from the eyes of whoever he pleases, invulnerability to magic, the ability to be hidden even from magical things like the map. And we don't know the extent of his powers or his strength as he was able to strike the ground hard enough for it to cause a huge wall of fire and manipulate it by making it disappear as he left. I got Death winning.
Death was also deliberately playing Puss's game on a level that Puss could compete with to humiliate him before reaping him. Being able to walk through the Wishing Star's barrier is the most obvious proof of this

Thinking he's a random bounty hunter isn’t really as strong of a motivation for Death and therefore is weaker for the audience. Especially given the movie's theme

Everything about this movie goes hard, from the amazing fight scenes, to the animation, characters, etc. I love how you can tell that the writers, etc, actually took the time to think about how they could do a sequel justice.
I wouldn't call Goldi selfish. It's not uncommon for adopted kids to feel like they don't belong, and Baby refusing to call her his sister and calling her a "Fugitive Orphan" likely didn't help her feelings. Also, there's no way in hell Tai Lung would defeat Death. 😂 If you want to be technical, Death has already defeated him.
This movie was the first movie since Zootopia, and then Kung Fu Panda 2, that I've watched over and over again in theaters, and loved so much! The animation was god tier, the story was amazing, each character was very lovable; even Jack Horner despite how awful of a person he was, but at least he was honest about it, lol. It also cuts sorta deep, when it break the whole movie down, from Death appearing before he actually debuts, each "antagonist" being one of every classic form of an antagonist, and many more ! It's criminal that this movie didn't win an oscar or any more awards that it was nominated for!
One of the many things that I enjoy very much, is that they took a very mediocre franchise and asked themselves: "How can we change it up? How can we make it into something unique?". If they had continued Puss in Boots in the same vein as SO many other animated movies, including the first one, they would have had 1 or 2 bad movies left, that would have been just plain "watch-and-forget" types of movies. I certainly didn't expect them to do anything else at this point. Happy that I was wrong. I think that this is a peak example of how you revitalize a franchise and make it unique in a way that will be remembered for a long time.

It's not as deep as the 2022 version, but it's definitely underrated.

It's not uncommon for adopted kids to feel like they don't belong, and Baby refusing to call her his sister and calling her a "Fugitive Orphan" likely didn't help her feelings.
Also, there's no way in hell Tai Lung would defeat Death. 😂 If you want to be technical, Death has already defeated him.
This movie was the first movie since Zootopia, and then Kung Fu Panda 2, that I've watched over and over again in theaters, and loved so much! The animation was god tier, the story was amazing, each character was very lovable; even Jack Horner despite how awful of a person he was, but at least he was honest about it, lol. It also cuts sorta deep, when it break the whole movie down, from Death appearing before he actually debuts, each "antagonist" being one of every classic form of an antagonist, and many more ! It's criminal that this movie didn't win an oscar or any more awards that it was nominated for!

One of the many things that I enjoy very much, is that they took a very mediocre franchise and asked themselves: "How can we change it up? How can we make it into something unique?".
If they had continued Puss in Boots in the same vein as SO many other animated movies, including the first one, they would have had 1 or 2 bad movies left, that would have been just plain "watch-and-forget" types of movies.
I certainly didn't expect them to do anything else at this point. Happy that I was wrong.
I think that this is a peak example of how you revitalize a franchise and make it unique in a way that will be remembered for a long time.
