yeah, the japanese audience have always been that way,and that's why you can hear & absorbe the music better, that's the reason the MSG "One night at Budokan" cd is such a great,Michael must've been so relaxed & played like a God!
Schenker's the Best FTR. There are alot of great guitarists out there, but none that compare to Michael Schenker, those are the simple facts. Rock On Ami you have some great comments.
@@RichardStJohn-zz8or you owe it to yourself to listen to schenker playing uli's music.....he plays it with great ease, and with the tone of his gibson, make it sound better. keep in mind uli could not propel scorpions to a world stage, michael did exactly that.
@permanentgrin Don't sweat it man, Schenker is the main deal here! I am a Instrumental fan & I don't think this singer was that bad to ruin the DVD! I don't agree with you! never mind the cheesy lines as you put it,be a little more supportive & be thankful this footage was posted & I don't mean to offend you but that is my opinion just like you have yours!!
Axe, sorry, that comment was meant as a response to " permanentgrin's" posting. Thanks for all the great Schenker stuff you post, I'm an OLD fan, and feel Schenker is #1, and #2, doesnt even come close to him.
To be fair, Mr. Van Landing, had some big shoes to fill here. He covers a vast range, c'mon..... Miene, Mogg, Barden, Bonnett, Sundin, et al. While not my favorite MSG singer either, You must give the man his due. I dont think any of the above singers, could do the job as well. ( Though I prefer them all, personally)
Hey you guys i just figured something out for Michael Schenker!! He should join Judas priest and then have the biggest Catalog of metal songs ever: UFO, SCORPIONS, MSG, JUDAS PRIEST!! Whoa!! Michael see if you can work with Halford and be paid like you dsserve!! You can play Priest like butter I'm sure!!
I'm a bass player and I'd say....nope. No doubt Barry is awesome, but I've never seen to the point to bass solos. That written, some short ones work, like in Pictures of Home by Deep Purple or some of Geddy's quick little fills, but in general, I don't care for them or find that they add to the song.
He needs a rhythm section like this again....Chris Glenn is an embarrassment,,, saw them last year and he kept stepping on his guitar cable and unplugging himself...then he would just stand there until a roadie came and plugged it back in because he's too fat to bend down and grab the cable himself. I'm not lying it happened bunch of times.
Killer version of Into The Arena
Barry Sparks and Shane Gaalaas are The Dynamic Duo. Nobody else plays like them. NOBODY!
discovered this duo when i bought Malmsteen Magnum Opus album...what a tight combination
That is SOME backbone he's got with him here!
Fantastic version.
The rhythm section sound SOOO sweet in this performance.
Wow Michael has some really, really good talent with him on this one 👍
Barry Sparks on DA BASSSSS!!! Outstandig! What a rich pocket full of great & soulful musicians!
Fantastic moment in music mate. Well captured. 10 /10

Thank you for the nice file; God bless you!
Schenker is brilliant once again, not sure about the togs but the talent he still got - hail to those flying fingers !!! x
やっぱり本物の音は違うな~色々な人がコピーしていてすげぇ~な~って思っていたけど、本家を聴くと1音1音の音の表情が違うってのがわかりました。
muy bueno...
I understood, thnx for tuning in & comment, best regards man & have great rest of the week!
The bass solo goes on too long here but my goodness - the guitar solo at the end - some of the sweetest sounds I've ever heard in my life.
I bet this very performance landed Barry and Shawn many of gigs they are top notch!!
I don't know where I was in 97,but I don't remember much about this line up.
Great player, even if he was self taught. Cheers!!!

Michael is great, and one of my early influences, but apparently you have never heard Uli Jon Roth.
You owe it to yourself to get properly educated ;)

This was freaking absolutely fanfucking testicular. I wndervwhay Shenker would sound like playing jazz.
right on man & Barry is playing with Nugent now!

You forgot Dave Meniketti:)
こんなクソ邪魔な曲にそぐわない速いだけのリズム隊をバックにシェンカーはリズムも良いし素晴らしい仕事をしていますね。
これはマイケル・シェンカーがドラマーとベーシストにスポットライトを当てる方法でした。

He might be a guitar god, but in that case one with no decent dress code....
Did Michael have to pee?
Does anyone really wanna hear a Bass solo ?
I like it a lot
