"Ten On 10 FM" event - Sat 20th April at 1pm local

- Challenge for you:- Can you work 10 stations on 10m FM?
A small group of us are taking to the hills to encourage some activity on 10m FM on Saturday 20th April at 1pm local time (midday UTC).
So far we have:-
Myself (M0GQC)

Isle Of Wight Radio Society (G3SKY)
I'm led to believe that a couple of members of the Isle Of Wight Radio Society are also going to be running stations under their own callsign, so hoping that there should be at least 2-3 stations for you to work on the Isle Of Wight.
If you can find a decent hill top location, then you should get decent results with fairly modest equipment. You may even get away with a mag-mount on the roof of your car.
Grab your radio & an antenna, then take to the hills. Hope to hear a few of you on 10m FM!
Good idea, never ever used 10m, always dead, but uk on 20m is busy. Good luck.

Hi Simon. Glad you had a great afternoon.
It was nice to work at a slightly slower pace than the usual "Hi, signal report, bye" pace that I often work at and have a bit of a rag chew.
Hopefully we brought a bit of life to a part of the band which would have otherwise been dead. That's what it's all about.

Fantastic! Any idea where you will be operating from? Are there any big hills near you? Obviously we're relying on ground wave here, so the higher the better!
@@AmateurRadioUK not really a hill James but a local high point at Fingringhoe with a good take off to the East and South - South/West in particular but not too bad all round.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't think you'll make it from Ireland, otherwise I would have asked you to put on a station for us.
I think it's too far for ground wave, too close for the skip.
