A Day on the Shamokin Valley Railroad Part II

Part II: Shamokin to Excelsior -- A special Shamokin Valley Railroad excursion heads east over the former Reading Railroad Shamokin Branch en route to Excelsior, just west of Mount Carmel as part of Shamokin's Heritage Days celebration. This was the route of Reading's King Coal Express passenger trains that ran until 1963. The Shamokin Valley Railroad is operated by the North Shore Railroad and owned by the Susquehanna Economic Development Association Council of Governments, more popularly known as SEDA-COG.
