This is truly amazing railway modelling, I can't get over the brilliant attention to detail on these layouts, I look at the buildings and bridges and I am in awe of these people and what fantastic Videography as well to show us these delightful layouts in such closeness and detail, Superb stuff.

Wonderful. There is just one thing missing to complete the illusion, and that is to film it in natural daylight, but that's probably not an option.

I keep coming back to this layout for the amazing representation of forest floor litter and clutter. Excellent presentation. Mine is a small yet highly detailed logging layout. Only 4’x8’ and is movable on wheels, tipped up it will go through a 2’4” door opening when removed off the wheeled frame. I’ve seen way too many excellent workmanships that have to be destroyed to get it out of the building. Thanks for this posting.

I agree with all the other comments; this is absolutely brilliant. I'm a life long model railroader and love what has been created here. Who wouldn't?
My own favorite aspect of the video itself is the sound. Being a long-time recording engineer and film sound specialist, I well know that sound can make or break any production. And honestly, if I just squint a little bit, and with a good set of headphones on, I am right in the middle of the original, actual, full size scene of, what, about 130 years ago? I would not have been too surprised to see an actual person walk out of one of the buildings with a wrench and oil can in hand!

SImply stunning! When I read the title my thought was this is just a "lets get as many clicks as possible" ploy but upon viewing I am in solid agreement. I, as I'm sure many others am captivated by the late Geoff Knott's work and this is right up there with it! Thanks for sharing. Love the "hundreds of tree's concept"! Beautiful modeling, exquisite use of sound effects (not just trains sounds but birds, chain saw, etc) & above all camera work that does not spoil the realism! Most videographers never heard of a tripod or slow dissolves.Other aspects worth noting are eye-level views, great depth of field & not shooting "off set". Outstanding work by all!

The sounds of the Shays you use, I have that recording and I play it while my big Bachman Shays on my layout. My wife, profile photo, knows when I am in railroad heaven when she hears them Shays grinding and hammering away on what was the Cass lumber company.

Are you sure this is all narrow gauge? At 0:39, you show a Climax with Walcharets valve gear. I believe this was only incorporated into the standard gauge Climax locos. Until 1915, all Climax Locomotives used the Stephenson valve gear. At this time it was replaced by the Walschaerts valve gear on all sizes of forty-five tons and larger. I do not believe there were any forty-five ton Climaxes built for narrow gauge. I would be very happy to be wrong because I freelanced a small narrow gauge Climax in G scale live steam with Walcharets valve gear and would love to find a prototype matching it.
