When I was a kid, we had a John Deere #30 pull type combine with a 6' head when the big farmers around us were running Massey 750's with 20' head's. Then, when my brother and I were teenagers, Dad scored a 1965 Gleaner F with a 12' head (1986 I believe) we were amazed at how much more we could get done. Then, in 1997 I tracked down a 1969 K-Corn & Soybean Special. It only had a 14' head, but the rest of the machine was so much bigger we almost doubled our through put. It didn't help that the old F was just plain worn out. By 2018, Dad decided to retire and lease out the farm. I ran the last 5 acres with the K. To bad he didn't get to enjoy it; 2 months later he had a massive heart attack and died. The K is now running around one of the neighbors place; I still get calls for tech support. My brother and I have had to work in town since highschool; while I can't speak for him, I'd still rather be farming.
I wish everyone that wanted to farm could..... especially the ones that grew up farming. I love the old gleaners... use to ride on my uncles A years ago.
That time of year again how are the yields where you are located do you have any TRX yield monitors in any of your machines they not very costly and nice for yield mapping
We don't not have yield monitors. Not sure if we put more money in our older machines or update. Yields on wheat were above county average. 35 to 60 on our farm. Good luck on harvest. Ready for your harvest videos.

You should make a video on the yield monitor or at least cover it in one.
