Why do you parry some of his slashes and others you just avoid? Seems to me like you could parry them as well, or is it some specific slashes you need to avoid? Damn geezer is hard to predict

Some attacks you cant parry, only dodge. The ranged attack he does and the attack where he does the shockwaves have to be dodged or jumped over.
Why is that effect constantly on?
The afterrimage? I think that's a graphical glitch. A very cool one.
