  • Silver has gone over $24 an ounce! Gold is pushing $2000! In this video, I visit Coin Guy's shop in Spring Hill, Florida and we speak about current events and the fun but crazy precious metals markets in 2020. Guy shows me some of his paper money collection and also some of his rare gold coins from his personal (and not for sale) collection. The man loves his history and he gives us a lesson in history while showing some awesome coins and collectibles. Thank you for watching!

      Who knew Cleopatra was related to Alexander the Great and the Justinian plague, I never heard of that in school. That came 1000 years before the famous black death from the 1300s and it was just as deadly.

    Thanks Mr Guy for showing us your personal collection and sharing the fascinating history. As a New Yorker that still works downtown. We check out a couple shows a year (before Covid). Ok seats are $250 (unless purchased via TKTS), the train round trip is $30 (from NJ) and dinner for 2 with a couple glasses of wine $130. Total of $430. They have priced us, the working class out of dinner and a show. When I was a kid in the 70’s & 80’s my family would go to a show, go to Mama Leone’s, Beefsteak Charlie’s or Katz for dinner and the grand total including transportation would be $80-$100 for a family of 3.

    That price of $11.91 means nothing when they raise the premiums to outrageous levels and you can't find anything to buy.

    • @marcoesquandolez4737
      @marcoesquandolez4737 4 роки тому +1

      If you bought at the premium at around $14 when spot was $11.91 you'd still be up by $10 today, so there was an opportunity

    • @przybyla420
      @przybyla420 4 роки тому +3

      It was more like $20/oz. including premiums when spot dropped to $11/oz. They use the premiums to discourage new money coming into physical; it seems like you’re getting scammed, but it is spot price that is a scam.

    There were approximately 14,000 banks were issued charters for the 1929 national banknotes, and were used to stimulate the economy during the Great Depression.And yes,the 1929 Federal Reserve Banknotes( of which there are 12)go for less.The Gold Reserve Act of 1934 followed FDR's Executive order 6102,and it changed the price of gold from $26.07 to $35.I love the history of paper currency and it was nice to see Coinguy talk about it.That 1902 Boston Harbor national banknote is cool,just because of the history of the Boston Tea Party at that Harbor

      If he tells you you won’t believe him anymore. So I’ll tell you so he doesn’t have to. He could just give me a nod if I’m going in the right direction.
      I’ve got an original take on this which I will share with you. The pyramids have been around for a long time. I think it was a Greek philosopher maybe even Plato went to visit Egypt and there he saw a plaque or a sign that stated these pyramids have been here before we got here and before the civilization before them got there.
      Nobody knows who built them or how they were built.
      They have been there a very long time. They used to be underwater. But they weren’t built underwater. They were built airtight and watertight. The vent tubes aim upwards, well above the waterline.
      The pyramids were doomsday shelters. What shape would best withstand the force of a giant tidal wave? There are pyramids in Antarctica too. Except there the water didn’t recede and it was flash frozen. What riches are our governments recovering from these pyramids. Artifacts and riches that we will never know about. Maybe they get melted down so they don’t get caught. We will never know what curses will be unleashed? But anyways that’s a whole other conspiracy theory.
      Some people say the pyramids are at least 18,000 years old. That’s like five or six cycles or positions.
      My theory is that when Nibiru comes around shedding its red IRON oxide rust dust. All those planets with magnetic cores raise their hands. Yes you will be attracted to this flaming red iron ball of death Dwarf star.
      It would seem that the Death Star doesn’t come close enough to pull us out of orbit but does come close enough to spin us within our orbit changing our pole alignment. Picture a Hot ball bearing on an ice cube. See how it can spin around in place. So if the core and crust moves quickly the waters will follow. With much sloshing about. Some areas because of their new geographic location become flash frozen.
      We could consider our planet lucky. We could be like Mars and have our atmosphere stripped away. Or we could be like the planet that now makes up the astroid belt. That’s where it penetrates our solar system. About three planets away. But when we lock on it’s going to be a hellish ride. The Bible says the sky will be like a scroll with days and nights whizzing by. Three days in the blink of an eye.
      Right after we lose our lunch be prepared for a lot of water and some of us be prepared to be preserved for a long time. Hope you put on clean underwear.
      This, my theory, also explains why we are so far behind every other race in every other galaxy. They’ve had all this time to build off of the knowledge of their single continuous civilization whereas we start over every 3000 to 4000 years. We are the charity case of the Milky Way. Planet earth of the Neanderthals.
      That’s probably a lot more than you wanted to hear. But think about it. And if you want to debate something I’m open for that.
      But hey, when the ‘aliens’ come in at the last minute and offer to save you - DONT DO IT. Trust me. You really don’t want to make them your savior. You will be their FOOD. Better to stay here and die like a human. Unless you have access to a pyramid or a DUMB.

    SPEG! THE PAPER BILLS ARE TEMPTING! THE BEAUTY IS UNDENIABLE! I want the Indian $5 bill or the $10 buffalo bill so bad, but I would put my money into an equally beautiful coin over a beautiful bill. Just like gold, coins have been collected for numismatic reasons for thousands of years! Can't say the same of paper money! Other than some very rare exceptions, paper money USUALLY loses value until its worthless. I don't have enough money for the rare bills that appreciate.

    I LOVE Coin Guy. I could listen to him talk all day. This should be a weekly segment on your channel.
    A legit Brasher Dubloon sold on Heritage Auction for something like 4 million dollars recently, it's just crazy a coin could go for so much money but when it's MS62 (or 63 I forget) and over 200 years old I guess it makes sense somehow. If I had the money I would buy extremely rare old coins like that, they always seem to go up in value over the years.
    I wish Coin Guy lived on the West coast near Las Vegas, would love to see more of his currency and buy some. You guys are awesome, keep on stacking and stay safe!

    Justinian the Great (r. 527-565) was one of the greatest Byzantine or Eastern Roman emperors. Both he and his wife, Theodora spent enormous amounts of money expanding the empire. They sent the Byzantine general Belasirius to reconquer Africa and parts of Italy. He was the last emperor to speak Latin, after him the official language of the Empire became Greek. His lasting monument is the Hagia Sophia, which was a church, then converted to a mosque and now is a museum in Istanbul, Turkey (formerly Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine empire)

    Coin Guy, I grew Up in the project also,.... until age 10 or 12 Joined the Navy at 17, I believe you are spot on . I was sleeping a few years Back and I heard BUY Silver in a semi sleep. I took a few G's out and bought silver at 10 to 14 dollars. I tried to buy 30,k in gold in the early 1990 when my Grandmother died via my Broker at 400.00 dollars, Never knew you could buy Over the counter. I learned a lot thru you sir. My family was about to have me committed I think, LOL......Now at 25 dollars there thinking How did He know but will never admit it LOL... Again.
    I have a question, The US Constitution says One dollar is one oz of silver. If I took in a one dollar Silver certificate do I get one oz of silver?

    The Fed keeps typing more digits into existence every day. Next big chunk with stimulus silver would touch $35. A big mac meal would go to $15 USD.

    I enjoy all your video's especially Mr. Guy. If I lived close to his shop I would be in there a lot ! Some of the prices I hear him quote are cheaper than I pay here in Eastern Ky. I pay a higher premium here because of availability.
