- mentalradio.net proves the world is crazier than you are. You might as well relax and laugh. Here's proof. It's about the power of the mind, mind control, optimism, and personal power.
I love this video. It's the greatest thing I've ever seen. I downloaded it from youtube and aligned the audio and video (which were off). Now it's even more amazing. Roy Head in his prime on a 60s television show called, "Where the Action Is" doing his big hit, "Treat Her Right." The greatest, funniest and most original physical moves ever. If this doesn't make you smile, see a psychiatrist.
I was lead vocalist in a group known as the shams... 1964 we were the opening act for Roy head. From that day on , my stage performance included dancing.. thank you Mr Showman 100%
I wish the audio on this was live, instead of an original recording insertion. I need to find a clip of him performing this song live.
R.I.P., Roy Head and condolences to the Family.
Woa the sham? That is awesome sir I’ve heard you’re tunes just good rockin
We interviewed Roy Head at length in Blitz Magazine back in the day. He was celebrated almost as much for his intense gymnastics on stage as he was for his impeccable recorded legacy. Devastated to learn of his passing on 21 September 2020 at age 79.
Put on a great show at my high school in the early sixties. So sorry to know he's gone now.
Live in his birthplace of Three Rivers,Tx
Couldn't believe him diving off the stage into a somersault. Then what followed. Holy crap!
I never get tired of listening to this kick-ass song!
James Brown, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger all rolled into one. WOW! What a cool 😎 video.
Kind of like a French buddy of mine. Hold his hands together and he’s got nothing to say. Some singers gotta move to their music, or they can’t perform.
A heart stopper if ever there was one. I sympathize with anyone who had to follow Roy on the same stage.
Saw it on live TV and NEVER FORGOT. UA-cam is SUCH a treasure!
A hidden youtube Gem. Shakin Roy Head.
This dude is amazing
One of the best artists and songs of all time
He asked my Mom for a date. She was out with some girlfriends and he came right up to the table and asked her. She was to scared to go go out with him. Not for any reason other than she was 17 and her family had only been in Houston about a year. She was a farm raised girl that was probably still a little intimidated by the big city, haha.
A pioneer in the Fine Art of spanz-dancing, a trait of which I, too, have once or twice been aflicted. Roy was one of the best impressionistical atom smashers of this universe.
All-around great performance by Roy head move and countermove that cannot be duplicated
this guy is fkn bad ass!! (as in good!!)
Little know fact: The local fire department was called to put out the fire from Roy's incendiary mind blowin' performance..som' folk never recovered from bein' scorched..yessuh!
Too true to believe. Too true to be true. You be the judge.
I always liked the song but never saw Roy till now,WOW!!! What else did he sing?
Roy Head, Rest In Peace. God wanted to hear some blue eyed soul today.
I have never heard of this guy and he is a great singer and what can you say about that dancing...it certainly is entertaining. He is on wiki but it doesn't say much. Wonder why he isn't more well known.
Unfortunately he was a one hit wonder and they tend to be forgotten it's a shame he was very talented the same can be said about a lot of talented people in the music industry back then who for personal and or professional reasons only had one hit record but hey thousands of gifted people never even got that far
I saw a video of Bruce Springsteen singing this song live at Albany, may 13 2014 and I loved it. I became curious and wanted to know about the original. Wow, I'm impressed. What a performance!
i can faintly hear his knees scream 😱
That's right tear the stage up TEAR IT UP!!!
Outstanding Roy head from 1965 with" treat her right" incredible moves and style..this is something totally different from James Brown Elvis Presley are Jackie Wilson..
Different? Yes. Better? FAR FROM IT!!
I was listening to this last week....a few times of course!!
He was amazing. Another southern rocker! His son won the Voice a few years ago!
Roy head was a brawler with a hair trigger temper you don't mess with him
Roy didn’t come to fk around. He’s giving you everything he’s got and then some!:)
Thank you Shadoe Stevens for sharing this incredible artist!! A person can't help but be energized by it and now I will have this video in my head to energize me even more!!
this dude defies gravity !!!! who and what is he !!!
RIP Roy Head.
Roy has got the moves, baby!
We danced a while with the record back in the day.
Roy influenced dance , I think Elvis might of been watching Roy a time or two.
HIS PIXELMATOR PIXEL DINK JUST EXSPLODED
I love this performance so much. I wish there was some way of improving the audio on this. Thank you for posting. I watch it over and over.
Brilliant! Controlled yet free.
James and Jackie would be proud!👍😎
RIP Roy Head - 9/21/2020
Played with him several times. At Antone's in Austin in the late 80s he dove off the stage and broke his finger. He never missed a beat.
Now I no where Tom Jones got his moves at this guy was bad ass
Love this guy!
wow
RIP Roy
Check out his song, Wigglin n Gigglin
R.I.P. Roy Head
He had voice that sounded like James Brown and Joe Tex that is too close to decide. Just listen to song deeply and can peg it down and come up with your own conclusion if he sounded like James Brown or Joe Tex which most likely was Roy Head's influence
3-Rivers Good Ole Boy BIG ROY says, "Too Much TeXas can - get Ur HEAD!"
Heavily,, HEAVILY influenced by James Brown. Heavily! But then again, James Brown was an innovator, and who WASN'T steal...borrowing from him? Great energetic performance, regardless!
This style of dance was done decades before James Brown.
@@robertfischer380 You are correct.
@@robertfischer380
By who?.....
@@Tonyconner74just like the Wah Tusi was done in the 30s. People danced like this ages before James Brown. There is no "who"
I'm sure those who've made negative comments about James Brown have never actually seen him in person. His precision moves and tight band created many copy cats but no one other that Michael Jackson came close to his live performances....plus remember James Brown danced during his whole concert, not just one record.
He's got some James Brown moves!
James Brown had HIS moves!
@@MyUltimateStuff
You got it backwards
James Brown was born in 1933, Roy Head was born in 1941...
This whole style of music was from black artist...
Roy was damn good....
He clearly studied Jackie Wilson and James Brown.
He gave 110%
Incredible
great moves
Ce type était génial. Je le découvre.
Wow
That’s a chocolate cow if I’ve ever scene one!!!
my man roy, you are the man fantastic joey wrelz
Those almost splits remind me of James Browns, ball buster splits, but not quite there.......
OMG rest in high octane!
This must be the overdubbed TV censored version... at 00:40 he says "if you want a little kissin'" (not "Lovin'").
🌟
The White James Brown 😅😅😅!!!
Check out elenore Powell and Fred astair begin the begine, a different type of dance but WOW!!
RIP
Noticed he changed to kiss instead of love you tonight.
Duuuuuude.

How have you been doing Shadoe? I’ve been passing on your movie “Traxx” to a lot of my friends. One of my favorites. Hope you and your loved ones are always doing well.
Thanks patriot! Thanks for the note and the sharing. I’m still busy and have no right to complain. My latest passion is MentalRadio.net. Have a great week.
@@shadoestevens we are so thrilled that you wrote us and that you are healthy and doing good . We watch Traxx and have always wondered in the heel kick in kitchen seen in beginning of movie was written in or impromptu by you ? All the best .
@@ragingpatriot772 ha! I’m afraid that was me sliced from dozens of improvs in the moment. It’s definitely a movie that could never be made today.
@@shadoestevens thank you so much for settling that for us ! Lol we loved it . It cannot be replicated today . Great movie . Any plans to do movies again ? Thank you 😊 you have made our day .
Roy as first break dancer?
thank god for polyester...he would've split those pants and jacket in denim.... jus sayin
Yeah those are some fancy old dancin' pants.. bet he was drinkin' Coca Cola too!
Love Roy, but every single move you see him making from A-Z is straight Joe Tex. Joe always bitched about Brown stealing his stage act, he never did that with Roy, because Roy improved on the original.
Did he have a brother called Richard ?
Even James Brown didn't have that many moves. :-)
He's got old James beat
OBVIOUSLY YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO A JAMES BROWN SHOW.
YOU'RE JOKING RIGHT????
DUDE PUH-LEASE!!
Almost a white James Brown.
Gotta tell you, that is weird even by today's standards, no? But you can give him the original gator dance no?
It may be the best thing ever.

Giving James Brown a run for his money
Much more flexible than the great James Brown...
He is cross between James Brown and Joe Tex his voice has soul that sounds like both James Brown and Joe Tex. Listen to both artists and draw your own conclusion of which one Roy Head sounds like
Shawn Robinson Yes!!!! I thought this was Joe as a kid!!!
Daniel Roberts he blisters james brown & so does wayne cochran
ARE YOU SERIOUS?????
what a mover jeez makes James Brown and Michael Jackson look stiff in their movements on stage WOW!!!
Dude please. He's got nothing on THE HARDEST WORKING MAN IN SHOW BUSINESS.
LSD is an amazing drug
More like Epilepsy.
@ronniemoon57 Not even close.
This made me smile ,called my wife in said check this guy out!
Big B I bet he’s got a closet full of pants split down the middle
