i dont think people realize how impressive this is . Pato competes at 64kg in the gi, Dante competes at 77. Not only that, Dante is one of the few competitors who can go head to head with mica galvao in terms of strength, he's definitely one of the strongest lightweights right now. For pato to actualy hold him would already be quite a feat but he actualy dominate the exchanges and attacked the whole time. Thats such an incredible display of strength, flexibility and technique. Bravo for pato, one of the best in the world for sure.
People don't realize but sure you do... Stop conjecturing about what people realize and what what they don't and stick to giving your opinion. I can't guarantee it but I'm pretty sure most people who watched this video know it's a an impressive achievement.

People dont realize that the difference between 145 and 155 is small and smalller weight dominate higher weights a lot. The heavier athletes are less technical and lose a lot to lighter fighters.

Jesus that was insane, seeing someone take the fight to Dante, push him to the brink and just snatch the sub like that is so rare and wild, Dante is a human trash compactor who crushes guards like pringles but Pato legit showcased some of the best DLR and RDLR guard I’ve ever seen here, absurdly sticky and wily with the transitions to K guard - edit: someone get Mica to drop to lightweight I have to see these dudes scrap it out

This was really absolute domination by Pato. I really wanted pato to win but I thought he’d have a more difficult fight on his hands and really Dante had nothing for him. Pato was on the gas the whole time.
Not really? It was very even with no clear domination up to that point. Maybe one sweep each but basically just figuring each other out. No clear domination by Diego up until the sub

Really good match. I watched it with no volume, I’m not sure why. But it made the match more interesting for me because I did a lot of random guessing at who was doing what,strategically. Anyways, really good match.

I wonder why Dante kept going into that headquarters position when all he was able to do from there the whole match was defend. Im not an expert but you’d think he would try to change his approach and go for some outside loose passing or something. you cant let pato get a hold of your legs

I'm still looking at it. I can't see Pato's right arm, but it looks like he threw his "lasso" leg to the opposite hip and then angled over so he could bring his bottom leg through and to the outside to get to outside ashi.
Dante was controlling Pato's left wrist the whole time, and was planted forward with the other hand. He kept that grip while Pato angled off, and I believe that helped Pato get underneath. If he had ditched the grip and sat back I don't think Pato would have been able to get under him.
This is just my two cents but would love a breakdown
