I think the good argument here when we are talking tier list is when you tell someone to show you who can ns choke they can pretty much only say Marcelo. Maybe monson
I need to revisit and try it out again. I’ve started all 2023 taking the back from n/s. You just need over under grip. Then chair sit and pull them up all at once. Boom back take
@@kylewright4926its so hard to perfect most people don't spend the time. I'm just now getting the hang of it and God does it feel like such a powerful weapon to have in the arsenal
I personally love ankle locks, the problem with them though is at the highest level, only specialists are hitting them consistently. Most pro's are willing to eat a few pops, plus it can be very exhausting, especially if they don't tap.
@@GrapplingTVBJJ most pros are willing to break their entire foot before tapping to a footlock. I love them and I’m really good at them, and even if I get one fully extended on my instructor (competitor) he just doesn’t tap. I’ll feel the pops and everything lol
2:49 I know I just started the video so I'm giving you time to change your tune, But I would definitely not place a guillotine as S tier, I feel like you have to have a good guillotine to make them work consistently, And if someone is aware that you like them it is something that is easy to in a sense "walk out" of
so funny to see them take zyns and 12 would be crazy. In Europe or specially Germany my friends used to take 50mg Zyns called Pablos in school all the time. So they were like 18yo
Don’t wanna disagree with an experience black belt, but the guillotine should be A-tier tops… the main part of the technique puts you on your back in a bad position off the rip.
In some ways, the fact that some of these submissions are ranked lower because they aren’t commonly seen at world level could also mean that they’re even more effective. If something is more unorthodox (less commonly seen) then it is also less likely someone knows how to successfully defend it and that makes it possibly a viable joker in the pack.
@ can still be true in a good room. It depends a lot on whether said submission has been in the meta recently and therefore had more people developing it (mechanics/associated issues) to a deeper extent. Most people think Americanas are a joke and Danaher just released a dvd explaining how they only get that reputation because people utilize the mechanics incorrectly and that it should be much better regarded and more widely used, just as an example.
@@EKMartialArts-io3fi I know what you are saying and I have a lot of gimmick moves but the main moves in current meta are there for a reason. Unorthodox moves tend to be a lot lower percentage at the highest level unless someone figures out a completely new innovation. Even danaher guys almost never hit the Americana which isn’t even very unorthodox. Unorthodox stuff works better at the mid levels when the players don’t have the greatest control or fundamentals yet.
video should be renamed to random annoying guy form Flo ranks submission while Nicky Ryan gives him suggestions. Like cmon I don't want to hear the opinion of some white belt
Not even a mention of the Boston Crab
Walls of Jericho is forbidden
Zooming in to check the list while homie kept scrolling up and down on that touchpad should be it's own sub
I'm so glad no one knows how to do the N/S choke. It makes it really good for the people that can.

Shit forget the choke, North south position is rarely used by people from my experience. I love it.
top 5 subs for sure
Gaby Garcia smother choke God Tier
The cross collar choke from the back in C tier is absolutely criminal. I'm 99% sure it's the submission with the highest percentage in the gi.
What’s Gi? lol
It’s a nasty choke
It also ties directly into bow n arrow chokes which are rightly an S tier. Should probably be in A
Bro your not wrong, that is probably one of the strongest chokes/chain
Yeah its the rnc for the gi
RNC is the highest percentage submission in every format where it's allowed, except for Judo I think. Gi, no-gi, MMA, etc.
Love that Chris Wojcik is getting mentioned here several times. That man is putting in the WORK and it is good to see him getting recognized.
He’s so humble for someone with so much notoriety
Who ever is on the computer is kinda slow mentally
The arm bar is S tier.
Nah why everytime i throw on a gi I get baseball bat choked and bow&arrowed. lol
Love all the Judo reference pics
BJJ
Basically Just Judo
There have been a bunch of ankle locks in comp recently, I think C is a little harsh

And they potentially give up top dominant controlling position@@GrapplingTVBJJ

totally agree w northsouth choke. never hit and never been hit (17 years training)
Wristlock in E tier is wild 😢
The D tier north south choke didn’t age well
S - Tier: RNC, Armbar, Heel Hook.
I don’t feel as bad about having a trash NS choke now.
nick rodriguez body lock pass
That should 100% be a submission
Lol I try to do my best Nicky rod body lock pass imitation everyday 😂😅

What were your thoughts by the end? Did we change our tune?
Calf slicer from pulling them into back control is way higher .

I plan on doing those next

This is usually not the case if you train in a good room

That's already included in the stats though.
ONLY BEN EDDY 😅
4:15 - Umm guillotine is the 2nd most common submission in UFC!!!
No respect for the No Gi Baseball bat choke
Maybe we should have said no gi submissions only because these baseball bats and bow and arrows are definitely S. 😂
Kimura is the best joint submission in my opinion
This is the blurriest 1080p video I've ever seen. Good video though!
Sulov stretch S+ tier
Do they mention CJI?
Yeah, they mentioned the high instance of HIV positive guys in CJI. They were trying to figure if it was from anal, or dirty needles
Seated katagatame A tier at least
Nicky Ryan back stabbing Craig jones right now smh
Bow and arrow at s but kimura at c? Dunno about that
can flo not do anything competently lol. omg keep it in view and just go in order. how does flo literally botch EVERYTHING they do
A bit confused

Did you say what "S" tier is? Its usually "shit tier", and its usually on the bottom. Then "God Tier" would be the top row
Just a little confusing.
S tier is above a. Get a clue
s tier is almost always on top in everything
