A new flyover is always great news, thanks to the NSF crew!
Cant wait to see this thing launch from the Florida beach. Absolute monster
Satellite Beach is gonna be the greatest spot on earth!!
@@MomedicsChannel oh you bet
Thank you NSF team !
Hosted by Max Evants lol, a rare typo in the wild. Thanks for the updates NSF team.
They waited for the orbital launch mount iterations to become more mature, before copying the one in Texas.
That's the case with pretty much everything, because much like Starship, Starbase itself is also a prototype.
If they waited, they wouldn't be demo-ing. Lol
Epic flyover!
Nice to see you here! I'm subscribed to you!
The Cape is great - thanks for the updates!

The only reason I watch these videos 😂
Great coverage as always!
Great summary!great work!
It all went well because Alex knows numbers! 😊
Thank you, a great synopsis as always.
Fantastic!
As a local close to the Cape, I really hope they move forward with the launch system for Starship.
I suspect, they are re-designing the OLP and legs to accommodate a flame diverter that is aimed towards the sea.
And beef-up the foundations for the taller, heavier ships yet to come.
August this year is my guess on Starship launch at KSC. Thanks for the update!
5th Theory - Clear the tower for catch testing? SpaceX are short of space at Boca Chica, it will take a while to build OLM2 there, and they will fundamentally want to move boosters from test/launch at Boca Chica to production/launch in Florida. The tower is doing ‘nothing’ so could quickly be used to try catching for IFT5 perhaps.
PS - alternative idea. They do catch tower at Boca Chica with OLM2, and never move last 2 sections there as only need shorter tower to catch boosters.
Great info 👏🏻😊👍🏻🫶
If they were to build the giant flame diverter, would they not have to make changes to the tower? I think the diverter makes the most sense, I just think it would be too big a change with the tower already built.
You know, dropping the OLM down to ground level, while making it more difficult to handle launch thrust, would be the best way to handle the added length of Starship V3 without making launch tower construction an even bigger engineering challenge.
Great video Max, Adrian, & Alex. Very informative, Thank you!!
Perhaps they're going to move the Starship tower to SLC-37? I guess that option would fit between the bottom two?
That seems a wise move.
lol, NSF used the pain scale faces :D
Epic!
I personally believe Starship will land at KSC or Cape Canaveral before it launches from FL
I suspect that the OLM legs were cut down as it was potentially decided that it would be easier/faster to install the required flame suppression, by removing the existing legs and concrete and starting that part again.
Let’s go!!!
Finally. Idk how I feel about spacex building directly inside 39A
Imo first Starship launch at the Cape will be in 2026
With the ongoing bankruptcy speedrun, I doubt this heavily.
@@Stereo3DProductions What? You mean by spacex?
To me it seems easier to mount the cooling plate and redo the foundation without the pillars in the way. Also the connection between foundation and pillars can be made better than the after alteration crater experience. A.K.A. You leave rebar sticking out for the next part. So they are rebuilding the mount from ground up.
The higher they raise the mount, the less-robust and complex need-be the ground protection systems. Of course, Mechazilla would need to grow in accordance with any increased height of the mount. I think they will iterate-up in Florida while future iterations of MZ/Mount combos will go much higher.
Would like to see the launch ring they use on the olm fixed to a flame trench.
5:44 Go blue! (F Finally...) 😂
3:58 lol
Option5? SpaceX is supposedly taking over SLC 37 after the last Delta Flight. They use SLC 37 for Starship, build new OLM(s), move the tower from SLC39A and add new towers(s) at SLC37. This allows SLC 39A and SLC 40 to continue Falcon operations unimpeded by Starship activities and Starship Stage 0 construction to be unimpeded by Falcon operations.
That's my guess also. NASA is still worried about LC-39a being taken out of commission by a Starship RUD
I think this is most likely.
Wonder if the amount of armoring they had to do to starbase will make LC-39 completely unrecognizable.
I live near kennady and I can tell you.... yes, this is is florida. But I swear we never get rain we get 1 rainy day once every 3 weeks it's crazy. I visited here growing up and it was once a day. But it never rains here.
Watching the shock waves moving across the surface during launches at Boca Chica just screams for the need to use a big flame trench, pointed towards the ocean. I also think the ship will be spotted further from the tower. The tower avoidance maneuver is damaging the launch mount ring. I also expect a redesign of the ring mount. Bigger opening, top without any flat surfaces. There is no way the current ring will support daily launches, let alone several per day. Tower will also need to be stretched. Why build the current height when you know version 3 is coming? That only requires another module above the ship QD and below the longer chop sticks. Same for second launch complex at BC. SpaceX will soon have good flame trench experience with muliple Raptors at Massey site. World's biggest blow torch needs to be tamed. Current Boca design was a quick fix.
I'm leaning toward option 3. I think a newer version of water plate mixed with at least some sort of flame diverter. Think Masseys test site style of changes.
Woah… at the 2:02 mark, you can now actually see just how massive Starfactory truly is… 😳
I drive by that helicopter on my way to Gator's Portside to watch the rocket launches and landings 🤔😎🍺🌴🚀
Maybe they’ll keep the tower and construct kind of hill in order to have exhaust channels similar to the 39B SLS platform.
The Numbers bit by Alex xDD
I bet with the 3 launches so far Space x gathered enough Data that they decided to build a completely new OLM which will be tested at boca Chica first with the second Tower.
When this new OLM und Tower are ready i bet they will demolish the first OLM too while continueing to Launch from the new OLM.
Or the will completely demolish the full first Tower too and rebuild after at KSC
I’m sure it has to be something like tower needs to be researched, couple catches first before upgrades and the stretched version of starship v3 all integrated. Plus idk why they would build the tower sections in Florida, ship them to Texas, unless it’s all outdated and cape will be like some say the main launch site and boca will be just a test area…
Yay
Yes. The reason BO so slow is for lack of big office buildings. That’s the problem. They clearly need more office buildings. Actually, while they’re at it, they should probably replace most of all the boring rockety mechanical stuff with even more office buildings.
...And car parks. Don't forget the car parks.
you missed the memo. they are pumping out rocket stages now and ramping up Orbital Reef, which will be built here as well. The need for more parking speaks volumes.
What is the best place to watch a Falcon 9 launch? Thank you
“Peace out Girl Scouts” has been added to my dictionary
Starship will launch from the Florida space coast in 2026/2027 timeframe. Probably.
I'm not a pessimist but... I think they're going to take the whole thing down and relocate that tower elsewhere.
Indeed.
Yeah the whole deluge thing is fun 'n that but remember the old adage:
Bury the sound underground.
Alex, Heat shield tiles. . . Yum 😋 😂🤣 P.S. I would try the slide. 🤪
They're changing the OLM at 39A and putting in a flame trench
Flame Trench, doubtful but possible
As efficient as Space X is why would they build legs & then demo?? It’s the million $$$ ? we will have to wait & see what happens? NSF YOU GUYS ROCKET!!
👏👏🖖
Olm ring goes to starbase. Complete new design at 39
Looks like OML is still made of a normal steel; "heat treating" will eventually cause structural failure. I was wondering about the tear patterns on the panels in the aftermath videos and images. Now I know.
OLM goes *pooof*
I love Alex's voice
I bet those things are what they are even if we _don't_ remember.
The new star base tower will make the first catch attempts.
👀🚀👍
My theory is that they shut down Starship launch site at 39A and move the Tower to new site, once SpaceX get old Delta IV launch Pad in there hands.
Yes I’d go for that too…. Crazy to put it next to 39A’s critical NASA and DoD Falcon launch pad, there’s a new service tower coming for NSSL Falcon Heavy missions….
I suspect after Rocktornado of IFT-1, NASA got cold feet about OLM so close at LC- 39a
Now that SLC 37B goes inactive after NROL-70, there allot space free from SLC 34 up to SLC-40, what is used by SpaceX
I think the launch tower at LC39A was scrapped in favour to take over LC36 after the final Delta4heavy launch.
I assume you mean LC37. LC36 is Blue Origin's spot at the south end of the cape. But I agree this option seems very likely. Having 2 separate sets of launch infrastructure shoehorned into the same LC always seemed odd to me.
You are right, my fault. LC36 will hopefully used for a long time by Blue Origin.
@@jens0107 And maybe they'll launch a rocket from there one day.
SLC-37 is as an addition not a replacement of 39A
I think SpaceX will take over the soon to be retired ULA pad and completely abandon 39A for Starship launches (for now).
The best launch Mount is no launch mount😂
flame diverter
Good idea...
Don't proceed
Wait till Boca Chica can do two maybe three or four unscathed...
Im thinking Space X is moving the starship pad altogether, as 39A is a historical structure. With the damage dont to the concrete during the first Starship Launch, I can them having to move the pad as to not damage 39A.
It's both historic (which NASA doesn't care much about) and also operationally important for current programs.
I am waiting for the day when Alex mature himself and I will be able to enjoy his presentations
What do you think of a Russian style OLM that opens up like a flower thus moving its parts away from the massive flame.
They're just inserting the diverter.
I see two factors for the OLM.
1. The impact/delays its use will have on Falcon launches.
2. The risk launch or recovery presents to the Falcon facility.
On that basis I would not be surprised if the tower gets dismantled and moved to another pad.
If Elons plans come together he is going to need a launch site with a tank farm large enough to support several OLMs.
I also see a need for the farm to be filled from tanker ships at an adjacent jetty.
I like 3🎉
Why d'ya wanna launch Maidens into space? 5:20

The same thing, but different!

Pole shift needs attention.
Next launch 4/20. 🙂
"Also... as well"? Oops.
👀🐔👀🐔😁
Let’s get a launch tower with an OLM over a flame trench… JUST DO IT!
SpaceX launched a record FOURTEEN times in March: 13 Falcon 9s and one Starship.
Thirteen. 12 Falcon 9s, 1 Starship.
@@ale131296 I did my math wrong. Still a record.
nice, AIR METH0DS egg beater......neat
I never understood why they wanted to put a starship tower in SLC-39A. It's already a busy pad and I don't see how the existing GSE is compatible.
I also imagine that by the time they get catching a booster or ship down the tower will be redesigned.
And if you missed a booster catch your potentially blowing up two pads at the same time.
I think option 4: The tower is going to be scrapped. The most likely
Not surprising that they resumed work at LC-39a Starship tower. The starship tower was unusable as NASA wouldn't risk an accident to nearby (1000 ft) LC-39a tower that launches humans to ISS. It was the Only such tower until Spacex launched astronauts at SLC-40. So now its clear to launch when ready and needs to be finished. New excuses may come, but I think they can use it before the year's out.
Click baited....olm at Canaveral...phew
The Thumbnail says Cape. The Title says Cape Caneveral Flyover, and its the OLM at the Cape.
@@LPAmdee it is not necessarily a bad thing. "Goodbye OLM" is all I saw at a glance, so I clicked. That's why any UA-camr worth their salt puts provoking thumbnails, to generate click, which supports the content we love. NSF is amazing!
longer legs at launch site to reduce the ground being damaged !
Great video. need to STOP "peace out girl scouts"!
Please get Alex a decent microphone, this is a sore spot in the otherwise amazing quality of your videos!
This is already a decent microphone, I don't have the budget to buy a several thousand mic
What about an unstable foundation on 39A causing the legs be removed?
ULA Delta Heavy Pad will be returned to the Nasa Military Force and possibly purchased by Elon musk for Starship.
Launchpads are not purchased, they're leased.
2026
When SpaceX does things on "Elon Time" they end up wasting time and have to start over. LOL.
Sounds kind of silly, but what if they are taking the legs to Starbase? Have we seen hardware for them there yet?
Considering they're filled with concrete and that they were literally cut and torn down that's unlikely
@@ale131296 unless they never filled these! But yeah, I forgot about the concrete cream filling 😅
@@deuce2669 they were at least partially filled from what we could see on the SpaceX live feeds of launches from 39A
'parking garage'. Why does American English often use two words where one will work? Lol
Because there is more than one type of garage in American english.
