Love the IG clips - hopefully you make more of these longer videos. Absolute savage up those big firs, we dont get them half as big in the uk ! Fellow climber from the Uk
Great work bro! Is this the start of you posting more on UA-cam? Always enjoy your content on IG, so really appreciate the ‘long versions’ on UA-cam. Keep it coming!
Great job buddy, just curious. Aren't you worried about having too much slack in your lanyard? And if you gaff out by accident, you're going to slip down. Pretty good, just curious, God bless.
@@br-dj2ti It’s something I’ve developed subconsciously after 10+ years of climbing on spikes. To be honest I don’t really gaff out anymore at all because I know what it feels like before it happens. Hard to explain.
@@robertckI would be climbing with a cince rope and a steel core. Dunno what that second flip line is gonna do on a bad bucking top, or bad gaff out. Gotte cince it up. Stay safe.
@@ArmaliteTreeGuy I'm calling bs. Maybe 2x as long, 3-5x is an exaggeration. To each thier own, and i understand the need for speed. Just doing it safely will only make you faster at doing it safely. And I'm no safety officer, I do sketchy shit all the. It just seems like this is a level of comfort that can lead to becoming complacent, and it takes just a split second of complacency to hurt or kill you. Would be nice to see some fall testing with two flip lines VS a clinching system. Load measurements, and fall distance, and the chances of catastrophic failure would be nice to document.
So I can tell that you are a new climber. First of all, climb towards the top and tie your life line. Chainsaw is running way to rich. Don't get your saw close to your safety lines again.
I just found you on IG and LOVE these videos.
I know a climber whos getting logs ready for the mill when i see one. Shave em tight! Climber from lakewood, WA here🤘

Not something I am worried about. If I gaff out I catch myself immediately.
@@robertck How would you catch yourself immediately? Please explain I would like to learn, thank you.

@robertck Thank you buddy so much god bless
Funny, i thought his saw was running great.
Wish my saw 200t Idled that nice.
( mine stalls out )
What’s the point of two flip lines if you keep them bundled together when cutting?
If one flip fails the other will be there. If I happen to cut them it will be a lot harder to cut through both.
Do your lanyards pinch and catch you if you fall?
No. I need to catch myself.
Two flip lines?
Yeah. Feels the same as one but gives double the safety. 😎

Cince up and that tree will take you 3 to 5 times the time it takes to get it on the ground. This is called production tree work/ logging.

Hes like one of the best guys their is in Washington. Nowhere near a new climber like you think he is 😂😂
Not to many new guys make it up to the top of a big fir in under 15 minutes. Keep up the good work Robert.
You’re smoking crack my dude
Is this in WA State???
Yeah!
