Those certain two kanji being there at all is just an unfortunate product of the Chinese language not having an alphabet for non-Chinese words. You can listen to the CN dub yourself and see.

I find it funny that you can take Sparkle's quote about "following girls like a lost puppy" being directed at Aventurine but also indirectly at the player. After all, just until that cutscene, we were chilling out and following Firefly around for (maybe?) a while, not to mention the fact that Sparkle looks directly at the camera when calling out Aventurine. In case you're curious, pet rocks were an American fad back in the 20th century at some point, my economics teacher in high school taught us about the fad to teach us about capitalism in the USA. It's a bit of a stretch, but I also consider this notion along with the Sousa name cameo 2 cases of Hoyo doing their research to nourish the American culture of Penacony & that's pretty cool. I see a lot of people hating on her because she's "racist". Apparently she said some sort of slur? But even if she did (not that im defending her), that's the way she was written. Isn't that what people wanted? A good written villain..? Saying a slur doesnt Necessarily mean that she's completely racist though.. i think. Even if so, she might've heard it from someone else, and then she's just spitting out what information that someone gave her
There is a difference in hating her but thinking she is a good character and the people who blindly hate that a bad character might be bad.
And then there is the people who throw fit when someone says she is racist even if the person saying that loves her and is not critiquing that fact. Plus more, there's a lot of variations.
Personally I feel like she is, even if she didn't say a real life slur (I'm not bothering with all that either way), seems pretty obvious to me written to be interpreted as racist at least in the context of Aventurine.
And if a character is written to be something, they are that. Their character is not based on interaction with the player, it is interaction with their setting and other characters in the context of their world. And then player will feel however they feel about that character separately. Think about how a word might be offensive in one country but not really present in another, that doesn't mean that it isn't offensive in the one country just because the other isn't. It's context. Another thing to note is that regardless of whether someone always uses race against someone, doing so is still racist. You can insult someone, but directly tying the insults to race seems like different connotation?

- He is from planet Sigonia, which doesn't exist IRL
- It is written in the loading screen that planet Sigonia is pretty much the black market planet where everyone is cheating, manipulating, etc, if anything she's just repeating what the loading screen said.
- He also works for IPC
- Dr. Ratio pretty much said the same thing

Watching this again makes her actions make sense, if Aventurine had “befriended” Sparkle at this moment, he would never have found a way to uncover the truth behind Penacony. She knew this and forced him away by looking hostile. After Aventurine was close to the truth in 2.1, she decided to actually support him. In 2.2, she argues with Sunday by saying she knows what he’s up to, she was supporting Aventurine all along…quite funny…

I thought Aventurine is bi-coded but notice how he compliments guys on their looks but not girls? Like his compliment for Robin is on her ability, even though she is insanely beautiful. I think sparkle is so cool, I love her character design, personality, and the whole mask thing. I also love aventurine, like all of him (blonde Childe frfr) but I hate playing hsr. It feels too restricting and the turn based battle slowly kills me but I love the cutscenes, whole design etc. I just wish the actual gameplay was more like genshin because I would adore this game if it was. I have no motivation to work for the jades to pull 😭😭😭

This is sorta sad? The real translation of Sigonian is "gypsy." The fact that the writers made a character spew real racist stuff towards another is so weird.
Its even weirder sense people are praising sparkle for being racist. When I first went through the quest I found this dialouge funny, but after a while I realized how messed up it was. I'm not really sure I even want to pull for sparkle anymore 😅
