Aeg 8000 washer knocking sound

My aeg 8000 washing machine developed a knocking sound. First i thought it was the detergent cup but after removing it, the sound still persisted. Its 90% when the drum turn counter clockwise, and with a higher rpm the sound disappears, only to come back when the drum slows down. Any ideas before i open it and what to look for?
