Excellent episode! Always a pleasure to come on and talk with you. Though I still stand by my point . . . No 5080 16GB. Prop up the 70 sku with 16GB and only have 5080 ship with 24GB. Price it right and we could be looking at Pascal Gen 2.0.
well for limits to graphics, we are already near to it... just it needs to be able to run at budget with good cost so that masses can enjoy.... we have already seen pathttracing in mid range cards and pathtracing is the ultimate end of the graphics race, probably the person making rasterization algo might hve been thinking that , whatever tricks they use is no longer needed since the original way light works can be employed in rendering game like it should.......ps6 /xbox next era might bring pathtrcaing to masses hence ending the pursuit of graphics , after that the focus will be on the cpu , expecting to creating realistic physics and simulation which will be really exciting because thats fun graphics isn't (atleast at the current level we have already peaked) you can see nvidia papers on realistic water simulation with waves , just imagine how it would look if gta 6 had that in beach , if you throw a cup it will traverse the waves and come back to the shore, just only that part can get a person invested in it for hours.... plus realistic AI like kingdom come deliverance(its not realistic its just complex tree of decisions) where the npc, sleeps at night, goes to the shop to selll item, if its hungry it will eat , if it is starved it will die so on and so forth.....
Hey silicon steak speaking of handhelds and APUs, i would really really like a handheld that allows me to plug my pc into it and use its screen as a monitor and its gamepad as a gamepad, this would negate the handhelds biggest disadvantage which is performance, do you know if such a product exists? if you do, point me in its direction
@@Gustaviustwinkelberry hey hope you enjoyed the episode. My friend @SiliconFoxx on this podcast knows more about the handhelds but me, he said there is no handheld that will do what you’re looking for. He said there is a minisforum v3 tablet that can be a display. It seems like you could just get a handheld hook it up with lan (as well as your pc) and just stream it over your local network. That’s prob the best option
My feelings exactly! You never wanna jump to a new platform and sacrifice such a core component of the experience. UNLAUNCH the 5080 16GB. We don't want it!
Yes I did hear about Bartlett Lake S. I am interested in the rumored 8+16 hybrid model, sounds great on paper, but it has to be priced aggressively. Intel has to understand their market position. You can't release a new cpu on an old platform and charge as if it's the latest and greatest. Fingers crossed Intel brings the heat!
@@SiliconFox-s8dthey are supposed to be somewhat alleged “budget” consumer aimed CPU’s. Whether or not that means 500-$600 for the flagship is tbd, but ima assume it is more than likely. AM5 is obv not the safer bet, wtf are u talking about. It’s clear zen 6 will be on a new socket, AMD couldn’t stop bragging about am5 longevity until NOW. Don’t be naive. AM5 is worthless now, more or less when it comes to being future proof.
everyone with half a brain knows arrow lake is taking the crown. In the long run, AMD wants NO part of nova lake. X3d can only take them so far, it’s diminishing returns with zen 5. Take it to the bank fam.

Im looking to uppgrade my rtx 3090 suprim x this generation. The 16gb rtx 5080 is not it.

To me Bartlett lake sounds like trash. Only p cores and lower clock speeds, no thanks. All that when arrow lake will already be out

That's just my take based on the leaks. Id rather have 8p + 16e cores that the 13900k or 285k would provide over just 12p.
Dude at the beginning I was confused like "SS wasn't black?" 😭
You can’t prove that
