Best sewing room yet. Mine is my living room cause it’s the biggest room. I live alone, so a sewing lounge with the big TV and a sofa and bar cart sounded good. Like the rack for quilts, they look like samurai swords in silk bags.
Hi there Kathy. I just came across your channel and what a pleasure it was to share in your tour. I am a crafter as well on YT and love to draw. I think your room is fascinating and well thought out. I live in Canada and am a Country girl at heart. My sister is a quilter but I never took an interest. All my sister sew except me. I bought a beautiful sewing machine that I am still trying to figure out how to thread and set the bobbin. It is even an auto setter and I am bewildered. hahahahahaha One day I will give it a go again as I love to stitch my cards with gold thread. My thread keeps breaking when I thread the machine so I need to check into the thread I guess. lol Your room is delightful and it is a blessing to hear your passion for quilting. Your work also is magnificent.
I loved your narrative about how you decided to start drawing to do something for yourself, which led quilting etc, as much as I admire your studio. Thanks for sharing.
Your husband did a great job making the various furniture & fixtures. You’re multitalented & I think it’s fantastic how you cherish your family’s companionship while advocating for what you need by carving out the creative outlet space & time❣️Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas.💐
What a wonderful privilege to meet you and see the creative, beautiful, clever ways you and your husband have made your space so unique and beautifully functional. I’m a retired nurse too with 3 children and experienced being the “sandwich generation” , but it took me a very long time to realize how much I needed to use my creativity to preserve my “self” . Thanks for sharing your story. You have encouraged me so very much !
You quilting room arrangement looks wonderful. The environment shows how you get inspired by nature and includes your family. You are a talented artist. Your murals and art/sewing studio beautiful. Wow!
Wow! Ms. Kathy McNeil, you have a very beautiful studio/house for all your quilting projects! A very neat room as well! Thanks for showing us on video, I just love to see videos as such.
I absolutely love your quilting studio! You seem so sweet and kind enough to share it with all of us. I too quilt and draw and have my quilt area so this video gave me inspiration to quilt and decorate more. Thank you so much! Love your videos and quilts!!!
This is my favorite art space. I've watched this video many times and each time I do I come away renewed in my own creative spirit. Thank you very much for posting this gem. ❤️
Love you Studio. I especially love the table that's built for your machine. I've been thinking about doing something like that myself. And I mean myself. The big roll of paper you had hanging from the ceiling made me think of my father. He had a big roll of paper like that that hung above his drafting table. He would sketch out airplanes and some times in the morning I would find cartoons laying around the house that he had drawed but always denied doing so (this was in the late 50's). The rack your husband made for your quilts reminds me more of the racks the upholstery fabric is hung on. My JoAnns will only let you have the tube if you are purchasing the last piece of fabric that is on that tube. I would love to try your styles of quilting. Do you have any online classes?
Thank you for a beautiful treat. I love you work!!!!! I have to say your bedroom is the most beautiful. I can see why you have so many ribbons and awards. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
I have seen quite a few sewing/craft/quilting rooms online but yours is the most interesting and well thought out and personal. It is perfect! I completely get how you love to have your family around. I do, too.
You do amazing work. I have to say that I have a familiar looking fixture in my sewing room/house as well. Looks like you have a Rhodesian Ridgeback. We are on our second set of them and they make great helpers!
Wow, you are so talented. I am a dressmaker seamstress and I hope to take up quilting one day soon. It is such a rare talent that you have! Your painting in your bedroom is outstanding. Thanks for showing us your amazing space. I just subscribed to your channel. xx
Thanks for these great ideas. Now I know to roll up my quilts and not fold them. Love the otter pic. You have a beautiful space and scenery to work at!
I do operate my studio and quilting business out of my home. See my website www.kathymcneilquilts.com. I do not have a shop here though. Just my on line quilt shop with tools, notions, kits and patterns.
Kathy, I just discovered your videos and am binge watching this afternoon. Associating “love and warmth” to quilting is a wonderful analogy.
Very nice well done, you have all the space and natural light, thank you for sharing. Blessings
Amazing work! I’ve never seen anything like it. I stumbled upon your video for sewing room organization and discovered your awesome talent!

The mug caddy pattern is simplicity 2450
