- Watch lighting master James Schmelzer demonstrate how to setup and use a 38" white umbrella to light a subject.
The Rogue 38" white umbrella is a snap to setup, and ideal for use when lighting full length portraits. If desired, you can also cover the front of the umbrella with the included natural white diffuser to make an even softer light with a wider dispersion.
The 38" umbrella is made with fiberglass ribs for durability, and with a closed length of just 23.5" it fits in most carry-on luggage.

Great tutorial... some new photographers need to learn these basig guidlines!
Hi Noel! I'm glad you like the video. We think it's a great tutorial about how easy it is to setup and use a white umbrella.
Excellent tutorial! I've been looking into some new lighting gear lately, so this upload came at the perfect time!
Thanks for watching!
would you recommend the 38" umbrella to use with the Stella Pro Reflex S light? I noticed in the video you were using the CLx10.
Thanks for watching the video! Yes, you can absolutely use the Rogue 38" Umbrella with the Stella Pro Reflex S.
Thanks James and team for creating these short feature packed videos love the products - Are you allowed to tell us which lightstand you have there? It looks like a nice generous height more than 2 metres, all mine are around 1.9m so fairly light to carry but a little too short on the hight
We'll check with James about what light stands he used.
When I feather the light with a black backing umbrella it created a stark shadow right behind the subject in the shape of the umbrella. How do you avoid that?
To avoid an unwanted shadow in the background try changing the placement of the umbrella, subject, or yourself.
...just wondering- what kind of LED light is that?
Thanks for watching our video! James is using the Stella Pro CLX10 constant LED lights from Light & Motion.
