It's amazing the plays you see during a no hitter/perfect game. It's like every one's mind just goes to a different place and we're all on a different level. It's special
Agreed. Now show the clip of the first base umpire robbing the Tiger's pitcher of his no hitter on the last out of the game. That call should have been reversed. It had no bearing on the out come of the game, just robbing a pitcher of his accomplishment.
I saw that Dewayne Wise play on tv as it happened. It was incredible. Not a white Sox fan, not a buehrle guy, but I am a baseball guy and that was so awesome. He was put in as a defensive replacement for that inning only and came up clutch!
Back in 2010, Austin Jackson made an awesome catch in the 9th inning to save Armando Galarraga's perfect game...only for it to be ruined a few plays later by a blown call at first base.
@@c.l.freeman7654 Actually, without looking, I think the Brewers did that twice, the other with Peralta and someone else. Thank God Zambrano, who pitched a no no at Miller Park as the home team, due to the Cubs playing someone not the Brewers, didn't make the list. That still makes my stomach turn a little thinking about it.
Matt Cain’s wasn’t just a no-no it was a perfect game. So number three should be one Edit: Shit I posted this before I saw number one, that was to keep another perfect game so that should still be one of
Perfect games don't come around all that much. So no hitters are not much of a thing. Nolan Ryan had 7 no hitters, how many of them are a perfect game? None..... Just Saying.
Honorable mention to AJ pollock in what ended up being a 1 hit shutout by Patrick Corbin. The only hit he gave up was a check swing infield hit in the 8th inning
@@ericharrison813 Not to end the game he didn’t. Which is exactly what my post says. Keep up buttercup! There’s an amazing play you could single out in every single no hitter / perfect game. How often is it the 27th out?!….
@@MelobockersWhich out the play was made on is completely irrelevant. A good play that saves a no hitter is a good play that saves a no hitter whether it was the first out or the last.
@@RupertMumphrey Awe! Bless your heart. You’ve never done anything in your life that involved pressure… In a championship basketball game, there can be 20-40+ three point shots made. Then when one is made at the buzzer to win it, it’s a top highlight for history
@@Melobockers Pressure doesn’t affect me as much in baseball. When I play, I just treat a situation as if it’s any routine plate appearance or play in the field. I guess for me it’s easier to treat everything as one individual matchup and go from there in baseball than other sports. There’s a lot more pressure on the pitcher or batter. For a fielder, it’s just run quickly, take a good route, and make the play. Not a lot of time to think and let the pressure manifest. This may be different for other people though.

The accolades at the game’s end go to the pitcher, but as is usually the case the entire team should receive the credit. To me the only way a no hitter/ perfect game makes sense is if the pitcher strikes out 27 players with no balls having to be fielded by his teammates!
DeWayne Wise saved a perfect game, not just a no-hitter
I was just thinking if he was going to put the play
He was a soft hitter but he could play centerfield with anyone
Same with Gregor Blanco
@@quacker3222 true Blanco had a better bat, just like Wise though he ran down seemingly everything
As a cubs fan, that was one of the greatest catches I saw live. Unreal!!!

I hope that pitcher bought Wise an expensive watch after that save.

Also I’m a dork and have a baseball card collection. Had to add a Wise auto. Okay the end.
If you remember this game, Wise was put into the game as a defensive replacement by the skipper Ozzie. Makes the play that much better!
That's legit so sick

Jim Joyce...1st Base Umpire Of The Game Between Cleveland And Detroit.
He got literal death threats from that call. Obviously he ruined the perfect game, but you gotta feel bad for the guy
Seeing chase Utley will always make me happy as a Phillies fan
To bad his best highlights are as a DODGER!

Stealing a homer in a non hitter is insane
Dewayne Wise stole one in the 9th of a perfect game on his first ball in play. If that's not clutch, nothing is.
Imao Souza Jr deserves special annotation on no hitter list, like "Zimmermann, Sep 28th 2014, *Saved by Steven Souza Jr".
The Wise one too. Not only saved a no hitter, but a perfect game and the shutout of course
👍👍👍
Notice how he put his throwing hand over the glove/ball to make sure it stayed in there when he landed. He was making that catch.
Blanco was playing in triples alley and basically made that catch to the left of center field. Just look how far he had to go.
all the pitchers have new best friends.
No-hitter often means great defensive plays. It's not just a pitcher thing
But u also cant have a no hitter without great pitching
That’s cap

The catch by Chase. That reach, that dive. Classic.

This should be on the list.
Should be number one. Brewers have two no hitters but the second one was with two pitchers, Burnes and Hader, I believe

Dwayne wise saved mark buhrles perfect game as a defensive replacement
Yeah
This is legitimately one of the coolest videos I’ve seen wow
Look at Austin slaters, no hitter was blown but an amazing catch

Did we? I assume it would be Souza
Nunber one saved a perfect game
So did number 3
Anyone else remember calling these "Sports Illustrated cover catches" ?
Diane wisest face after he caught the ball 😂😂
#2 They couldn't afford all the lights on in Oakland ??
How tf do these keeping getting better sheesh
Blanco saved a perfect game. It still gives me chills.
Look how Souza used 2 hands to secure it. A dying breed of old school mechanics.
The last guy had exceptional awareness of where he was in relation to the fence
Watching these, I'm reminded that Bird played baseball as a young man. He loves baseball. Baseball showed up in how he played basketball.
I'll never forget the Perfect Game saving catch by Wise. Call your friends, call your neighbors.... EPIC
Utley had so much aura
Chase Utleys extension was insane especially at his age on top of it.

Great plays....meanwhile the Pirates pull a pitcher on a no hit bid after 6...😢
Souza Jr will forever be my favorite play. I was watching that game live on tv and was so hyped.
DeWayne Wise might just have a top 5 catch of all time it was so legendary
That 2nd one full extension off the ground, probably the best.
As a White Sox fan. I miss these days.
How about Robin Younts diving catch for the 27th and final out? It was the best one by a mile!
Awe.. the memory wise, i remember shaking my boss's hand after that perfecto game. Sad what the sox have become yet great memories
I don't care what team you root for or against, whenever a no-hitter is involved, its spectacular. These are fantastic plays.
The diving catch from second is by far the hardest out of all those
There's something so nostaligic about hearing Kruk and Kuip call a play.
Rusty Greer saving Kenny Rodgers perfect game in 9th
I was looking for this comment. His catch is the first one I thought of.
I low key think the best catch here was that first catch in the infield. So quick and what a bounce
Walt "Moose" Moryn, 1960 for the last out of Don Cardwell's no-hitter.
These great plays also happen all the time but it's even more exciting under these circumstances.
Lmao baseball looks tons of fun... In the highlights reel 😆😂
mike baxter???? my man injured his shoulder saving the game and hes not even on the list

Short dread JP in the opening clip, such a sick play
Miggys throw to first was a pretty good no hitter save as well.

Dwayne Wise, a perfect catch

Gregor Blanco that should be higher because that saved a perfect game
So did the Dewayne Wise one

I was at Mark Buehrle’s perfect game. Amazing game!
I can see why Mac wrote Chase Utley a love letter with stickers
“Top ten no hitter saving plays”

Justin Verlander's no hit was saved from granderson in the 9th too
