My name is Edward, but everyone knows me as Nugget. If by chance any of the band members are still out there, I'd like to thank them for playing their parts in my life. Her voice gives me goose bumps! Beautiful.
These Classic Punk Rock Songs are great, they cut to the chase and get to the point fast and quick to get their message across, simple and effective but Great!
Listening to Screaming Sneakers as a teenager brings back memories. I could hardly find any lead female singers in punk bands back then. So dope to see they aren’t forgotten.
@@RokuErickson lol I was a teenager in 2000. It wasn’t as easily accessible as it is today. I’m not saying screaming sneakers were the only female fronted group I knew. It was just harder to find back then. I didn’t have half the resources as I do today, and yeah I went to shows but it was just a different time.
Found this amazing gem when listening to Avengers - Corpi Cristi. Glad I checked it out. Here are the lyrics the best I can discern them while having a middle ear infection. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I see violence as a rising tide backed up to the wall no room to hide perfect weather for a homicide feelings over the many that died in the violent days the violent ways of our lives these are violent days within our lives cruel cold meaning gives you dark no life cruel cold living every single day criminal people teaching violent ways But I don't see tomorrow I can barely see today I can't predict tomorrow But I know it will be violent anyway But I know it will be violent anyway
Thank you. But I understand: ... cruel cold meaning gives you dark no wife... and in the second repeating ... no life... ? But maybe I'm just a little bit lonely.... 8)
@@exeuroweenie Yes they were - I had a boot with some live songs - titled 'Don't You', 'Kingdom' 'Summer Of Hate' and 'End Of The World'. Apart from the latter two, I don't think the bootlegger got the titles right, and those songs aren't on any of my other Avengers records. (End Of The World they studio recorded on Died For Your Sins? (I think?)). Anyway, Is that the Summer Of Hate boot? I lost it long ago (the boot, that is ...) Still kick myself now and again for not seeing them when the y supported the Damned years ago ...
@@exeuroweenie I think it was 2008 - they had the Weirdos the following year, I think it was their way of saying thanks to the West Coast bands. A Damned fan site must have all the details, I'll scout around
I love this song! I remember hearing it at a local bar here in Austin that I used to frequent. There was a bartender there that always had songs like this that may have seemed unfamiliar to people. This was one of them that always stuck with me from that place.
I really like this track and the band as a whole - always have. Regarding other comments - I can't understand why Punks are so competitive and want to argue about what's "More Punk"; as members of an ostensibly non-conformist sub-culture we sure do like to judge, and I have been thinking that is the antithesis of our attitude since 1976.
I agree though I can see that it comes from wanting to protect this thing of ours from being corrupted by mainstream values and people who may not get it.
Punk started in the USA - MC5, The Stooges, New York Dolls, Richard Hell, to name but a few. I love all the early British bands, but let's not forget where the influence came from? Punk's about the attitude, not uniformity. Vive le difference! :)
1st time I heard this song was in between bands at a show and it stopped me in my tracks, seriously one of the best punks songs ever written
This is shawn from g spot huh?
props
I second that

I never heard a song about Violence that sounds so happy and peppy.

I see violence as a rising tide
backed up to the wall no room to hide
perfect weather for a homicide
feelings over the many that died
in the violent days the violent ways of our lives
these are violent days within our lives
cruel cold meaning gives you dark no life
cruel cold living every single day
criminal people teaching violent ways

I can't predict tomorrow

I used to dress "punk" at an old job of mine, and a co-worker asked me, what kind of music I liked. He guessed Blink 182 and green day. Bwahaha.
crackin
The they changed their name to Sneaker Pimps and sold out 💰💃🏽🕺🏾
Take that, Steven Pinker.
does anyone know the lyrics??
vick hall died at 19 i wonder if he

I'd call it pop punk but I love it so I won't call it pop punk.
Pop Punk and Power Pop are among the most glorious genres.
year?
1982
Where's the bass guitar......
🫡🔥
I love you Kathy
i SWEAR... I feel like I've heard this song sung by another band. Am I wrong? Either way, punk as fuck!
With the guitars louder and more distorted, and the vocals a bit more aggressive this would be great. It's why USA punk wasn't really punk.
Go listen to some Killed By Death records and say that again, I dare ya.
