    Never forget the #1 Reason: Stability
    Ableton 11 in one of its later iterations was an absolute abomination of crashes and lags, which ultimately led me to switch to Bitwig.
    Bitwig on the other hand is basically the software equivalent of "Built like a tank".
    One of your vst's crashes? No Problemo, just remove it or try reloading it, the Daw is chillin.
    Wanna open multiple projects at once? And then maybe copy audio clips or devices from one to another? Well there you go sir, of course you can do that!
    Besides that, the overall Performance of Bitwig is just objectively better than Ableton.
    By that I mean the loading time of projects and devices, as well as the overall Dsp "headroom" (You can load more stuff).
    Plus:
    Did you know you can open Ableton Projects in Bitwig?
    I had an Ableton Project that was so corrupted I couldn't open it anymore, so when I got Bitwig I just tried opening it there.
    Suffice to say it worked.
    This Daw would survive World War 3, and in case of a nuclear strike, my advice is to boot up Bitwig and take shelter behind you Pc.

      Haha yeah its a big plus, true. When i was switching to bitwig i used it to finish an album i had started writing in ableton, importing ableton projects made the transition much easier

      haha almost, i made this video when compressor+ was alread announced. the glue mode does sound great , the only thing it can't offer is the elegant simplicity of glue compressor

    Bitwig is like a giant robot capable of destroying the world and travel through dimensions but is unable to microwave a hot pocket.

    • @TildeSounds
      @TildeSounds  Місяць тому +2

      tbh i've found it a lot more useful at microwaving than ableton. What's the metaphorical hot pocket you're struggling to get warm?

      @@TildeSounds Don't get me wrong, I'm a Bitwig user, haha. I made this analogy with the best of intentions. Sternenherz addressed some of what I consider to be the issues in his "5 Reasons why I would love to switch to Bitwig 5, but CAN’T" video. One thing that isn't in the video but REALLY bugs me out is plugin scanning. Bitwig takes a lot of time to scan and index plugins, and you simply can't manually rescan plugins. It's a recurring issue among people with a lot of plugins, and unfortunately, I'm one of them.

    I agree. Bitwig has even a.better Ableton Link and a slight tighter MIDI timing which is noticeable on drum machines. And to mention the browser. Ableton 12 has gotten a bit better, but Bitwigs browser is a lot cleaner and faster.

    • @TildeSounds

      i like the bitwig plugin browser a lot, the sample browser i'm still getting used to

    Interesting thoughts. In re glue: I like Analog Obsession COMPER. It's got everything you need (except gain matching) and more, but the interface is clean enough that you can work very quickly with it. I use it on almost every track as a bus compressor to add glue and sidechain against the kick. (I group all channels except kick, and comper is on the group track.)

      great content, new subscriber, unsolicited advice: try to reach higher and lower pitches with your speaking voice. It would help create more of a sense of excitement. It might feel unnatural at first, but your video format relies heavily on voice, and I think you might work on the "sound design" of it. IDK, maybe try applying OTT and maybe that will help? 😅

    • @TildeSounds
      @TildeSounds  19 днів тому

      yeah i used comper for a bit, analog obsession is great

      @@GeorgeLocke haha nice way of putting it. in my recent video i use my voice to demo the vocoder fx on a lot, kind of adds some interest. maybe i should just always talk into a vocoder lol

    I tried bitwig 6 weeks ago and i havent opened to use Abelton or Cubase since...there iwas some M4L devices i thought id miss but that wasnt a concern very quickly when you start to comprehend the power you have in this software..so good. you want something you just make it and workflow starts to become far more creative and simple.

    • @TildeSounds
      @TildeSounds  Місяць тому

      yeah i still mix a few more niche m4l devices that aren't possible in the grid, like corperous concativus, but that's it really

    Simple terms. Bitwig lets you make music so quicker. Thus it provides you opportunity and time to work more on the music side.

    It's like choosing between a Fork or Spoon sometimes since they're both great but custom U.I. shortcuts in Bitwig are a huge workflow booster & one works on Linux while the other still won't without Wine.

    • @TildeSounds
      @TildeSounds  Місяць тому

      @@TildeSounds Ha Ha Yea! The closet thing I could think of to that would be using Applied Acoustics VSTs within Bitwig since many of Ableton's plugins are based on them or routing midi between both DAWS, similar to what the Reason Studios VST does, through a program like helvum.

    • @TildeSounds
      @TildeSounds  Місяць тому

      @@nevinplove5097 my hope is on ableton adopting .dawproject. as is you can import ableton to bitwig, but not the reverse
