This is the best explanation you could give to us. There are so many reels out there that it is difficult to make the right choice. Some brands will advertise a feeder reel with a gear ratio from 5.1:1 or whatever. When fishing you feel that you have to slow down your speed when retreiving. It's a matter of getting used to the equipment you're using. Thanks
Most usefull information I heard about reels in 10 minutes. Semehow no one when buying reels had told me why you might consider 6:2:1 reels for which situations
I tend to fish for SUPER aggressive fast saltwater species from shore/kayak so the larger that ratio the better. I want hyperspeed retrieves so that I don't get crank fatigue.
Great video i think you explain the differences between the two perfectly. I am looking intto making a purchase of a reel and i wanted to ask you what is the difference between a double handle and a single handle. Ive heard many things like balance etc. However which do you think are the main differences between the two and why pick one over the other?
@@AndrewsKnots thanks for your reply. I agree here, but I managed to damage a Daiwa Freams 3000 using 10/15/18 g lures. The gear shaft got wobbly . I can feel it when I m reeling slowly .Assuming due the load is to big for such a reel - 18g ? Or is just a factory issue ? To be honest I got disappointed of Daiwa. Anyway you do a good job . Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.
I love to take my time so i can feel a good battle from the fish no matter what ratio i have it's all about the fight for me especially when barbel fishing, para

Super! Glad it was useful.
For any top water fishing or anyplace that’s filled with snags I like a high gear ratio reel, I hardly ever get stuck.

Matter of taste.
love your video!
Thank you!!
6.2.1 good for jig 5.21 good for cast
Once more a very informative video, thank you! For light bass fishing with soft lures (up to 15gr.), what reel gear ratio is ideal?
As explained per video - will depends on the situation.
Hi Andrew, which one would you pick between Daiwa Ballistic 3000 and Shimano Stradic 3000 ? Cheers.
Hi,
Both good reels. I would choose Daiwa because to my taste it has nicer bail (thick and feels more rigid).
Cheers

I have Daiwa legalis HE 95cm per crank.
Super.
Cheers
Thanks.
Fast reels can be reeled in slowly, but slow reels can't be reeled in fast

Fair enough. I personally don't think gear ratio matters when it comes to fish playing BUT in theory it can make a difference.
@@AndrewsKnots i agree Andrew,para
