What i like about your video is that yours is not ASMR type. Instead, you make explanation and some tips while still make the video entertaining. Not gonna lie, i learn a lot from your video. ✌
I like the asmr vids but thinking about the dude setting up the camera, running back and then walking past it dramatically always breaks the illusion 😂 These vids dont pretend and i like it
Facts, I can't stand those camping videos where they say nothing at all whole entire time. BORING 😂 I never subscribe to or watch any of those channels
Overnighters like this teach us not to take for granted modern life , while keeping us prepared for Hard times . Glad to see a new Video from Woods bound .🔥
Recently found your channel from one of your videos talking about your survival lighter. I can't get enough of this kinda video, it's the perfect amount of comfort without just being ASMR. You talk enough to keep attention but not so much that you leave no room for nice quiet moments to let the nature sink in. Genuinely such a great channel, keep it up my man.
One of the best channels out there! No frills with anything. Your personality is always super positive and i love that you just enjoy doing the basic camping things. Its a slice of life and were all here fir it.
I struggle with falling asleep some nights. There's something about watching someone brave the cold and dark with a steady mind and calm demeanor. it puts my anxiety at ease, and I eventually fall asleep. thanks for the great content and informative shorts!
Thank you for goin’ through the ‘bushcraftness’ of it all, to keep us engaged, when we all know you could have just brought a nice insulating tent and thick sleep bag to stay warmer all night, instead of getting up to manage your fire. Very cool of you. I appreciate your videos and very seldom take time to comment-on any yt vids-despite having been a subscriber for quite some time. This shit is dope! 🙌🏾 I really appreciate the variety you bring and your calm, cool, down-to-earth attitude. Thank you.
maaaaaaan i freaking love these videos!!! i don't have any idea why this gets no attention from yt algorithms. anyways, be safe and keep up the good work man!
I live in northern Alberta. 9F is a very warm winter day. -40C is typical. It is flabbergasting that Indigenous people lived in these conditions. Love your video. Just makes me think how crazy it would be to do this with no modern equipment and -30F.
The indigenous and you Canadians have my full respect. I was always told the coldest days are when it's super clear. So true- pray for snow to heat up!
I was thinking 🤔 this, lol. I thought I wouldn't even be able to hold my hands still to make it it's-3 here in uk today, and I'm freezing. I can't keep still lol 🥶🥶🥶😬
Hello from Oklahoma! Good Video! If You have never gone into the woods and tried this, you don't realize the amount of effort it takes to set up a camp this way. It is a big job. And he films it while doing it. Good job in this endeavor. I tried this a couple times, now I make sure to carry a nylon tarp or poncho for a shelter. Thanks for all You do! God Bless!
This video reminds me that without hard work, it is hard to appreciate even the little things we take for granted everyday. We would be overjoyed to just be warm and dry. To get to the state of mind, we must work. Hard. As things come easily, they are appreciated less and less. Thank you for a great and informative video.
My favorite part of your videos, and some other outdoor content creators, is that your food is generally simple in most cases. You're not out there making fresh bread, fettuccini alfredo, and some dessert-thing. It's realistic to how I do food, and how I was trained to do food outdoors. Nothing fancy. Just good enough to get by and tastes good. Sausages, or maybe a decent steak and potato wrapped in aluminum foil, or a simple freeze-dried meal in the bag.
Here Something for you. Its not much but it's something. You probably didnt see my comment on previous videos because I know you must get alot of comments but I have always wanted to go camping and build a shelter out of what Nature Provides. My previous comment was about camping and it being done like a Retreat. I'm an Alcoholic and I Could use some downtime away from Society and from my bad Habit. I love seeing your videos. It reminds me of "If I can Do It, You Can Do It Too" saying. Anyways Happy Holidays my Friend. You The Man 🤘🤘🤘
I must not have seen your other comment, I don't get a chance to read them all, but I appreciate it and I'm glad to hear my videos help you. It's a challenge, especially in more extreme weather but that's what makes it even more fun, you definitely gotta try it. It's nice to get that break from everything and be in solitude for a while, it also makes me appreciate all the things I normally take for granted
@@WoodsboundOutdoors Thank You for replying and for getting back to me; acknowledging me. I appreciate you. I legit stand by what I said.....I would like to get out of the city.....get away from the bad habit. Just know, you are the Man and Happy New Year 🎉❤❤❤
This guy has mad skills, I would start smaller, like "camping with Steve" but substitute "step 2" with beverage of choice, hot camp coffee etc (use some snow to settle the grounds b4 drinking)😅
From another recovering alcoholic - keep coming back. Your idea about getting away has much value. It allows us to see thungs in a much different light.
Your use of the warm rocks reminded me of a family story. My mom was born in 1912 in a small Kentucky town and she remembered riding in horse drawn buggy or carriage of some sort. She said in the winter they would put warm rocks under blankets to stay warm. Also, it is amazing how good some types of burning logs smell. I live in Tennessee and we have what we call cedar trees which are actually a type of juniper; when camping I would always look for some fallen cedar trees to add to a campfire.
Honestly, I'd watch a video even longer than this. It would be cool if we could see a practically uncut version that shows you walking from place to place and memorizing the different locations and stuff. I bet I could easily watch an hour of this, it's very calm and fascinating
Respect thats more work than you showed as you said and there's a good reason we had Boy Scouts and Indian Guides as kids. Sharing these with your dad = priceless
Great video!! Can't wait till I can do this myself! I love how he's sleeping on wood and sleeping in the middle of nowhere, but is still eating better than I do!
It’s great you say how much hard work that was, sleeping was hard and your feet got cold! You make it look so effortless, I was thinking it would take all day for me to be that prepared and I’d still be scared and bloody uncomfortable. Love your videos, though I live in a different part of the world.
Haha, great! I’ve learned kind of the same stuff in the army. Though you sometimes have some very good ideas and tips. Leave your propane burners at home, we’re cooking and grilling in and on the ground/soil was what kinda surprised my friends back in the day. It’s great to have such knowledge when push comes to shove.
I've been binging on your videos and I gotta agree with a commemt gou made in an older video, the inclement weather videos are the best. They certainly are my absolute favourites. I don't know what it is about camping in the snow or heavy downpour that just warms my souls but they do. Thank you for posting these and I appreciate and look forward to you posting more like these. 😊
I love being outdoors. I used to think I knew it all. Started getting into cold weather camping. Not sure how this channel popped. But I Love your tips. Thank you.
Ngl man, you and outdoor boys carry this genre of UA-cam. You guys both explain things and every process you go through is methodical while still showing cool wilderness outings. GREAT VID🙏🏼
What a delight! I do enjoy these a lot. I am quite jealous, my current living arrangements make doing trips outdoors a little more arduous (not to imply that your trip wasn't). I really appreciated the shot of your cam resting on top of the tree branch as you were dragging it. Made me smile, and makes clear that you bother thinking about interesting shots to get while doing this! Great vid
Every time I see your video, all I can think of is "how good looking his car is!!". Really brother your car and especially the colour, love it! Nice choice.
First of all Happy New Year! I just wanted to say that you are by far (in my humble opinion anyway) the best person on UA-cam making this kind of content. Like someone else who commented here said - I can’t wait to sit down and enjoy anything you post, which is always entertaining and above all very informative. Never does a video go by that I don’t take something away. Your knowledge is a treasure, practical and never any fluff. Btw, you always make me hungry watching you prep food! Please keep up the fantastic work, love your stuff! All the best
When you showed the evidence of deer ( deer poop ) it brought back a memory. When my daughter was 5 her and i was walking around my aunt and uncle property looking for blackberries and she came running to me to take me to see the chocolate covered berries she found aka ( deer poop ) 😂 thankfully she didn't try to touch or anthem before showing me.😂😂😂 She's 16 now and i still cant help but to bring that up from time to time 😂😊 Thanks for the video.and i wouldn't share with the Ravens either.❤❤

Thank you! It took me about 6 or 7 hours to get everything set up including the fire, that's with some breaks in between. It also takes longer because it's hard to find the right fallen branches for the shelter/bed. If I was able to cut live trees it would be a much quicker process, but I'd rather not do that anyways. I've seen the self feeding fire done before, but I have yet to try that for myself. I'll make a video on it when I do
This video makes me wanna go winter camping more!!!!I just tested out a $90 Aliexpress sleeping bag last month in 24 Degree weather and it was warmer than my north face 0 degree bag. Then again it was massively thick and weighed much more than the northface.

This was a perfect video to fall asleep to. A steady reminder of the warmth and shelter I'm blessed with every day without having to saw a single log.
