Sawing logs with saws and splitting my wood by hand does something for my inner peace: It keeps me active and fit while doubling for keeping me up to date with my firewood (I live in an “off grid situation” because I refuse to spend the money that I don’t have on utilities AND when the wife told me to “go away” I didn’t argue due to the fact I’m MUCH more at peace now. No noise is good noise! 😮😂🤣🤪

Recently found your channel from one of your videos talking about your survival lighter. I can't get enough of this kinda video, it's the perfect amount of comfort without just being ASMR. You talk enough to keep attention but not so much that you leave no room for nice quiet moments to let the nature sink in. Genuinely such a great channel, keep it up my man.

Very cool of you. I appreciate your videos and very seldom take time to comment-on any yt vids-despite having been a subscriber for quite some time. And he films it while doing it. Good job in this endeavor. I tried this a couple times, now I make sure to carry a nylon tarp or poncho for a shelter. Thanks for all You do! God Bless!

This video reminds me that without hard work, it is hard to appreciate even the little things we take for granted everyday. We would be overjoyed to just be warm and dry. To get to the state of mind, we must work. Hard. As things come easily, they are appreciated less and less. Thank you for a great and informative video.

My favorite part of your videos, and some other outdoor content creators, is that your food is generally simple in most cases. You're not out there making fresh bread, fettuccini alfredo, and some dessert-thing. It's realistic to how I do food, and how I was trained to do food outdoors. Nothing fancy. Just good enough to get by and tastes good. Sausages, or maybe a decent steak and potato wrapped in aluminum foil, or a simple freeze-dried meal in the bag.

You probably didnt see my comment on previous videos because I know you must get alot of comments but I have always wanted to go camping and build a shelter out of what Nature Provides. My previous comment was about camping and it being done like a Retreat. I'm an Alcoholic and I Could use some downtime away from Society and from my bad Habit. I love seeing your videos. Your use of the warm rocks reminded me of a family story. My mom was born in 1912 in a small Kentucky town and she remembered riding in horse drawn buggy or carriage of some sort. She said in the winter they would put warm rocks under blankets to stay warm. Also, it is amazing how good some types of burning logs smell. I live in Tennessee and we have what we call cedar trees which are actually a type of juniper; when camping I would always look for some fallen cedar trees to add to a campfire.

Good video! I’ve seen the slanted tree feeding fire setup before; have you ever tried that? How long did the encampment take to make?

Thank you! It took me about 6 or 7 hours to get everything set up including the fire, that's with some breaks in between. It also takes longer because it's hard to find the right fallen branches for the shelter/bed. If I was able to cut live trees it would be a much quicker process, but I'd rather not do that anyways. I've seen the self feeding fire done before, but I have yet to try that for myself. I'll make a video on it when I do

This video makes me wanna go winter camping more!!!!I just tested out a $90 Aliexpress sleeping bag last month in 24 Degree weather and it was warmer than my north face 0 degree bag. Then again it was massively thick and weighed much more than the northface.

My recommendation is using aluminium foil for cooking the lamb chops. Your way of cooking it is good too! 😊

I don’t know how you do it. I would be lost in the woods and would not be able to find my vehicle. I always learn something from you. Thanks for all that you do! ❤

That's always interesting to watch your videos, especially I like that you give a lot of explanations. I hope sometimes I'll find a courage to stay outdoors in such a tough winter day like that

This one kinda felt like watching Survivorman, except he didn't have to struggle getting food or finding water.
    Anyway, love these videos~
