I love all the upgrade content on your cars, as it shows what can be done to make the car handle better. In saying this, personally, all the upgrades in the world, doesnt make you a better driver. No disrespect on your driving, but many people (who dont drive well, or dont have the need for UA-cam content) spend so much money on upgrades, but they still cant drive. Im not a pro driver by any means, but I still manage to dial in a factory kit decent enough to keep up and win here and there. It can be done without spending the same amount on upgrades as the kit cost. But I do understand why you're doing it.
Crashing is what kills your lap times the most, so working on going a little slower but with more control will improve your results massively. 100% all the upgrades in the world are not going to win you races if you don’t practice your driving skills.
@@RCKickschannel it's OK it's an addiction amd always nice to have a second car. After my Japan trio I had enough hop uos I made a 2nd TT02 drift car so it has it bonuses but my mods were very cheap buying them in Japan. The B7 was 59700yen that's super cheap but didn't buy one maybe I'm October when I return.
Once my Christmas bonus hits in November I am building a B7 for the indoor carpet season. I want to do a retro theme that pays homage to the mid 00s buggies. That or totally blacked out with fluorescent wheels and springs. Yours looks so sick. I am beyond stoked to get at it. Your videos have helped me get the bug back for the hobby (and start chasing vintage cars online 😬)and in 2 weeks I went from no RC cars to 4. Started with an 18 scale 2S truck, quickly upgraded to a HBX 3s 12 scale stadium truck, bought a used LCG Slash and built it up and now I am on a new Typhon 3S BLX. Honestly having more fun than I was with freestyle FPV mini quads.
I have some upgraded WS springs on the car and it lands lovely. I'm happy with the shock setup currently but it needs more work on the diff oil. I think I need to go a little heavier again but not much.
TBH, I kind of dig the body, well done 👍 We could see on the footage that the car was missing some turn-in in the heat 1-2 and then that it was better. Nice runs ✌🤝
Yep thats it. You can't see it in the footage as much as you can feel it when driving. Still a load of work to do but it is on the right track. Back out in two weeks so I have some time to improve a few things.
I noticed the pads are 19mm but the original is 11mm is that gonna make a issue or did it I should say??? I have both 11mm and 19mm and I am about to build the kit I don’t know which size pad would be the best ??????
I would agree with you on on most upgrades. A select few give you performance improvements but a good few are more for reliability upgrades. The WS gear upgrades and carbon diff housing as an example of a a solid way to go. As is the rear WS bulkhead and ARB mount. Like you say it does look great lol.
Did you have to shim the side play from your diff with those alu inserts? I had to put 0.5mm on both sides of my b6.4. Crazy sloppy without them. Weird bcos with plastic inserts it was good.
Hi, do u run the corsatec stuff in this buggy? Also do you still rate it as highly as you did? I read somewhere the motors are discontinued! But not sure about that one. Cheers buddy , from Guernsey 😊
Biggest factor here is the rear diff oil, way too heavy at 100k for this tiny track, i would suggest if your going to run 2 gear then 20k is as heavy as you need to go. I run 10k with 4 gear as i prefer the feel, 2 gear normally gives more rotation but within reason. I would also suggest trying a ball diff and see how you like it
Just watched this latest episode 1 question springs to mind why did you bother building it in the first place why not just wait for the upgrades to arrive
Mostly due to filming timing, parts and money availability. Impulse purchases are a factor lol. All this plays a part. I’m still waiting on the 4mm short chassis and I’ll have to rebuild the buggy again whenever that arrives 🤷🏼♂️. Making content for you all is completely different to building kits just for yourself.
Fixed that issue. I forgot to mention it in the video as I did it last week. The upgrade steering doesn’t use the hats but uses the spacer to stop sideways movement.
Anyone else miss the b4 and 2wd mod? Where all u had to worry bout was ur susp settings and tires? All those upgrades and those wheels are outta balance. ;) -U10
It was a family gift when I turned 40 years old. It is a long standing thing in my family that goes way back. My late Father had one and I always wanted to get one since I was 15 years old seeing his. I purchased one for my wife about 12 years ago for her birthday and my family saved up and surprised me with mine. I now have my late Fathers watch in a display case and I plan on getting my Son one for his graduation.
Love the video but Most them upgrades you don’t need. ( bling great.but car handles like awful) Diff oil Small track like that 40/60 k 4 gear. 100k 2gear is for larger tracks And main one stop driving like Steve wonder. Way too much input on the steering.😂😂😂
@@RCKickschannel yes, I would agree, diff oil is way to heavy and it’s stopping the rotation, also try another mm or 2 on the rear inner camber link to raise the ball stud up.
@@RCKickschannel I found changing the rear wing helped massively with rotation of my car. JConcepts Carpet-Astro High Clearance, the 6.5” one. Something else to play with and tweak
Your driving over the years has marginally improved mate 👏👏👍

Ok yes
I love the bright fun colours of the body!
Once again a great video Gavin👌👌
Beauty of a buggy, Gav. I especially like the colourful wheels and body design.
Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻 Hope all is good with you?
Great video! I'm looking forward to seeing the continual improvement in handling.
Coming soon. A few more changes to make and some parts to order lol.
Love the whole look of that. Really cool. I like seeing all the upgrades on its good entertainment to get to see a full on version of it :)
i also like the pink purple unicorn theme.
Love this channel. Watched for 2 years now. Question - how about a list of tools used in the videos?
Easy, 1x hammer, 1x nail gun, 1x duct tape ;) Sure I could do a simple video covering my tools
Once you buy the shorter frame you will pretty much have 2 B7's or the most expensive one in the world though it will look nice.
LOL same as my Cougar Classic

Welcome back to the RC car hobby :) Thanks for watching!
Diff oil sounds like the culprit. I've never had anything over 5k in the b6's.
Nice body 👌
Raise your front roll center .5 mil and try a lighter diff oil to help with rotation.
80k currently in the diff. Will give 40k a go I think
So, how many parts would you need to build a second buggy?
Great video Gav. I really enjoyed that one.
thanks Gav! I’m starting to like those cab forward buggies now…
Yep, you kind of just get used to seeing them.
If you are not getting rotation into the corner try lighter weight diff oil. I don’t run much more than 12-15k
All this for a shelf queen ?!?! hahaha i would totally do this.
This is not a shelf queen, its a race buggy. That said, yes I have done the same thing for a shelf queen lol
it'd probably be worth it to get sets of the 1up springs. seems to be what's hot right now.
I have some upgraded WS springs on the car and it lands lovely. I'm happy with the shock setup currently but it needs more work on the diff oil. I think I need to go a little heavier again but not much.
Go lighter on the diff, not heavier. It will let the car turn more instead of pushing straight.
[Pinky to corner of mouth] ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
Close lol

Someone's got an upgrade addiction 😁
Hi, my names Gavin and I have an upgrade compulsive disorder. I do these things so you don’t have to.
Where did you get the funky stickers from ?
MCI Decals

You like hopup parts so much that I dare you to make an RC car from only hopup parts. lol.
My Schumacher Cougar Classic ended up being just that. ua-cam.com/video/gJY3d490qu8/v-deo.htmlsi=ihBZkgrlgqzGN9Pu

No, not on my B7. I can’t remember now if I did on the 6.4

Not yet but I have the Corsatec motor for it. I just need to order the ESC
That b7 body looks far out, very cool, and titanium everything is the way
Those are shock shafts BTW not pistons, pistons are the white plastic things. Just making sure you ask for the right thing when you contact AE.
You are 100% correct on that one 👍🏻
I’ll be putting in a ticket soon and you never showed who won the Gorgon and I love the body just real simple.
All winners can be found raffall.com/rckicks/winners
How much toe in the rear are you running? going to less rear toe 2'-1.5' will give you much better turning on the sharp 180s.
Currently only running 1 deg

how can you wear the sub when wrenching mate? I wear g-shock😂 upvoted!!!
What do you think about the just announced RC10 Jay Halsey Edition Kit from AE?
For me, love it! If I can get the funds together I’ll get one

Steering spacers? Those blue bits you forgot to fit?

Or go for Orca Esc/Motor
The rear tires have too much side bite. Scrub them up and it will help the car rotate.

Yep, I don’t have a way to balance the tyres

Too thick a rear diff that’s why it doesn’t steer. Try 30k

Couldnt you make more content if you ran it, then stuck a bunch of money into it? Then again money in your country isnt worth anything
I did run it in this video? I’ll also run it again in the next one 🤷🏼♂️ As for the UK money comment. 100% agree with you on that one.
