@@monsterjambrony I agree. It's hard. When I'm picking who I like over others I separate and have a favorite female truck and driver, favorite indy truck and driver, and favorite FELD truck and driver. And it's even hard to choose then because there are so many amazing drivers like you said.
You can really see Damon's motocross background in his driving with moves like these. MX and SX riders use throttle and braking (via angular momentum and the gyroscopic effect) to control the bike midair all the time, and it just translates to what we see here, total control of the machine. Awesome driving and footage.
One of the most technical drivers on the circuit who was always aware of the track, how to control his truck at high speeds, how to achieve maximum hang-time, how to land properly to go into the next move. A true innovator of the sport.
Damon was really one of the only drivers on the same level as Tom Meents, Neil Elliott, and the Anderson brood for most of his career. He was one of the few who could straight-up beat them at their best in both racing and freestyle every night and was a game changer because of the mid-air brake checks he brought with him from motocross. After he started doing it, so did everyone else. As well, the Air Force Afterburner will always be his truck in my mind.
He has only been on tv about 6 times in the last 3 years. He was one of the best and never ever bragged about his skill. I have to agree unfortunately but I do think he's gonna retire soon

Why do all of the best drivers leave... I feel Cam McQueen will be next since he really isn’t shown on TV all the much anymore if at all.
