This video is for 2007-2009 FJ Cruiser, the description is misleading, it is harder to reach the spark plugs in 2010-2014 FJ Cruisers, the process is different.
Yeah- usually people want the newest rigs but on the FJ- the 2007 was the best. Easier to do everything on, and components that changed over the years got worse. Finding one that isn’t a rust bucket is the hard part.
Great video. Clear and concise but I was taught that dielectric grease is to be used as an insulator. Not to be used directly on electrical contacts. Any feedback?
Len, your videos are the 💯 best 🤩Straightforward & informative! More FJ videos - very few! Especially with sensors. For searching purposes, can you add some error codes? Thank you!
Boss!! I need help!!!!! I did successfully replaced the spark plugs and they are working great BUT... 12mm bolt (curved black side vertical rack) broke on the bottom side of the engine.. ⅔ of the bolt is just stuck inside and there is nothing to grab to turn or pull. HELP!!!!!
Excellent I was worried I'd have to take the entire intake assembly down, but this is way way easier. However I dont have the socket for sparkplugs. damit nor do I have the dialectic grease
Your check engine light comes on. Your car has trouble starting. You're filling up the gas tank more often. The engine idles roughly (and you can hear it) Your car won't accelerate quickly. Per the manufacturer, it's time! Toyota says every 30,000 miles.
Thanks, great video. I just got a used 2007 FJ and I will be replacing my plugs soon. One thing I note is that you say to torque to 13ft-lb, however, the wrench you link to says that it has a Torque Wrench Range of 25 to 250 Ft. lbs. Is this the right torque wrench?
Mine had a little shutter problem the first time I turned it on. It felt like it wanted to turn off. I took it for a spin and it went away. Mechanic said it just had to readjust
I did this and it was a complete pain! The condition of the electric clips made it nearly impossible. And accessing the driver side was a joke. I nearly gave up. I’ll just pay next time.
+Carlos80k Thanks for watching! It all depends if the gap is within tolerance of what the spark plug is designed for. Please check the fitment of the spark plug before installing as well to insure you have the correct part.

Why didn’t you show the driver side spark plugs? The one closest to the front bumper? That connector was a pain to get to

100% perfection installation! That’s 👏🏽
What was the indicator that told you it needed plugs?
Your check engine light comes on.
Your car has trouble starting.
You're filling up the gas tank more often.
The engine idles roughly (and you can hear it)
Your car won't accelerate quickly.
Per the manufacturer, it's time! Toyota says every 30,000 miles.
Do I have to replace the coils aswell or can I just replace the plugs?
+Kyle Pohlmann You can just replace the spark plugs but some people choose to replace the ignition coils as they are in the same area.
Coils not necessary
I saw a UA-cam video where a guy paid the dealership $550 in labor to change the plugs!
I don't speak english :( but to what extent should I calibrate the spark plugs? can you write it to me please?
Thank you for video. I will be replacing today

Local dealer quoted me 1.7 hours @ $130 an hour to do this (total $221.00), so here I am.
Can you make a video for a 2013 FJ Spark Plug change? There are more parts that have to be removed to gain access to the drivers side plugs. Thanks!

Please change this title to 07-09. The newer 1GR-FE engines have a different construction for everything than the older one.
How long should the extension be to reach the spark plug?
No thread spread?

Great Video, thank you💖
very well done , thanks
Excelent thank 😂

Funny how he skipped the hardest one for the video. 🤦♂️ The front left on the drivers side clip. Jesus.
Thank you homie 👊

Sadly on a 14 it's not this easy at all. Tons of hoses etc that need to be removed :(
i get 0.44 spark plug options. will it still make any difference??
+Carlos80k Thanks for watching! It all depends if the gap is within tolerance of what the spark plug is designed for. Please check the fitment of the spark plug before installing as well to insure you have the correct part.
False!!! That does NOT work for 2013. I have TOTALLY different components.
Doesn’t look anywhere like my 2013. Completely different and much more difficult.
Thanks 👍
Not for a 2014!
