Good Lord! No way, I could do that in under four hours. Well worth $200-$300...

This is a great, detailed video. Everything this gentleman does applies to 2014 FJ Cruiser. Everything.
One thing I would like to add. In my case, the FJ Cruiser was in NY. Then Midwest. The biggest challenge is salt and snow. Over time.... the bolts and nuts rust. So in my case the bolts for the manifold... broke off.
The batteries for the base of the battery.... yep... the nut is above the strut exposed to the element. Yup... one did not make it. So for a 2014 FJ with 97,000 ... hmn it is not a maintenance job. It becomes a repair job. The screws the injectors also break. I just want to offer my experience. Again, this is a great video and all steps are exactly what you must do to service the spark plugs.

Thank you for this video. My 4runner only has 20K but its great to know that I can resort back to this video when I need to do my plugs!

Some things are worth letting the dealership do, and this is one of them

Yes, if you are not comfortable with this don't attempt. If a plug is cross-threaded it will be a major cost/repair (easy to do on a modern car).

That was really helpful, thank you! I miss my old 1975 FJ40. It was very easy to work on.

Glad it’s nothing like the 3.6 in the wrangler. Had to remove the air intake and battery which took about 4hours from start to finish

2005-2015 Tacomas offered the 4 liter. The Tacoma air intake is different, but it's still a 4.0 and on that passenger side. The Tacoma seems a lot easier. I didn't have to take half of that stuff off of my 4.0. Had to remove the engine cover and one bracket on the driver's side. Everything else was readily accessible.
    Good video, Mark... as usual.

113k miles on my 2016 4runner, guess it's time to knock this out. Thanks for the video!

Tedious, but certainly less intrusive than Audi engines lol This Kinda reminds me of my 4.7L V8 4Runner/GX470. Overall, a great step-by-step with awesome visuals, Mark. I'll call that, a Job well done, Sir. 👍

I did this my self on my 2018 4runner, dealer was charging me. 367.00 , I saw this video and decided to do it my self . Thank-you, after doing this. All my plugs had oil on the threads?? I think its the valve cover gasket.

I changed plugs on my 2010 fj last year right before a trip to Colorado only to find 3 of the plug sleeves had oil in them. Lucky a I was able to get it in just in time to get the valve cover gaskets changed before we left

Great video. When disconnecting the ignition coil from the plug, a white insert might get stuck in the plug and wedge an orange seal within it which prevents you from reconnecting it. Rather than cursing the old gods and new, when that happens just remove the white insert with some needle nose pliers, then pull out the orange gasket and place it around the prongs on the switch, put the white insert inside the coil housing and it will seat right up.

  • @joebagodonutssummertime8267

Bolts on exhaust manifold don’t need to be removed to get air injectors out. They are usually rusted and almost impossible to remove anyway. Don’t need to do it

  • @onenikkione

Good video. Uh, if you have parts/bolts/fasteners left over don't toss them in a bucket. Review the video and find out where they go!!
