I feel the same way on jet engine sounds. They're music to my ears! My brother used to pilot the C-5 in the USAF and I could NEVER get enough of the great sounding TF-39s'.
It’s because of the frequency produced by the engines when at a high altitudes creates Pink Noise, which drowns out background sounds and slows the brainwaves down inducing a sleep state. You’ll notice this effect with Buddhists Mantras where a group of monks when chanting create an overtone that is maintained as a constant OM/AUM even though they aren’t humming but are rather chanting. This Overtone OM is tailored to different frequencies based on the content of the mantra, a healthy related mantra for example will be set to a frequency that induces healing. That’s the power of Sound, Frequency, and Vibration. CIA (German SS/Hydra) conducted a lot of studies on this derived from the SS research and adoption of Buddhism prior to and during WWII (many SS including mustache man were Buddhist), declassified documents can be found in the CIA Archives. Going back to planes, this sleep and relaxation effect is amplified with mood lighting which newer aircrafts are equipped with, low brightness Blue, Purple, and Pink along with color schemes that represent the sunset/sunrise are becoming increasingly common. This all coupled with better pressurization allows for passengers in the 787’s for example to come off a 14hr flight not looking like disheveled and disoriented.
Didn't know that the 200 variant can be equipped with the GE-90... The only two 777 that specifically use the GE-90 are the 300ER and the 200LR. Normally, the 200, 200ER, 300 use the Trent 800/PW4000. And I've flew on the 200, 200ER, 300 and 300ER. GE90's were an option for the 200/200ER also. They had less power than what the 200LR and 300ER have though. British Airways also has some GE powered 200ER's.
