I grew up with the smell of timber being cut, but you have shown me things here that I didn't know, I thank you for that. Best you get off to Church and sing some, it will get the saw dust out of your pipes.
Yes sir, lightered knots are also good for throwing at unruly livestock. If cutworm's mom would've had a lightered knot handy she wouldn't have had to waste a bullitt on a cantankerous horse.
I have had many days like that! That's when I am glad that I know the Lord, because it's not all that gets done on the outside - sometimes it whats getting done on the inside that counts the most! Much Success to You!
Sorry, but I never wash dishes or any household work. But you're right Kate is a most perfect companion and partner. Frankly, I don't know how I got so lucky, my good looks and charm I guess .lol.
Oh yea!! Can certainly relate to those "Bass-Akwards" days. Had many of them and likely will experience more to come. Slow down, keep calm, and stay committed is all you can do. Nice job on that log!!! ;o)
This old boy with Burke County roots knows all about 'fat lightered' wood. I know what it looks like and I know how to find it and I know what to do with it. There is a place on my late Uncle's farm where you can find big lightered stumps where you could tell they had been hand sawed because of their height above ground. The whole stump is great if you can get it up. I've dug and dug with a Deere 450C crawler and still not had success in getting some of them out.
Yeah, there have been a few days where everything has been pretty bass ackwards, some days more than others. "Lighter'd" Interesting, I have known about heartwood, but I did not know pine heart wood was so rot resistant, bet bugs of all kinds hate the tar.
I very much enjoyed the visit. You two wonderful folks sure make a great team. I can almost smell the pine.
Oh yea,
Awesome pine squares, it's beautiful wood.
Yes it is, thanks for watching .

For someone to mostly manhandle a timber of that size has sure done a day's work. Great job my friend & great video !! Take care !
Thank you.
I always heard white oak will last the longest planted in the ground for a post. Y'all take care too. Getting some pretty weather now.

Bicknell, you tell Mrs Kate that I think she it tops for getting out there with you and sawing lumber. I hope you help her wash dishes too. :)

I know what you're talking about. I have a real nice lighter' gate post. I'll show it in another video. Thanks for watching.
Those kind of days seem to be coming more often for me lately.
Sometimes things just don't go as planned, but sometimes things just seem to go well. Life is good.
nice job on the timber
Thank you.

The heart will last a long time. The part at the bottom of the tree that is full of resin will forever. The only enemy it has is fire.
What's the reason that you need to use heart wood for the column. Is the wood around it soft?
The heart is the toughest part of the tree.
