I used to sharpen my circular saw blades but now have a new bandsaw mill and no one close to sharpen the blades so was considering doing it with a round and flat file. But no way. I got to get a few drimlen stones. Thanks for the video.
That's how I sharpen my woodland mills saw blades. It's not any fast or slower. But the blades seen to be sharper then when there sharpened on a machine.
Good video, I like it, I suspect a lot of people did not notice but he was putting a certain angle and edge on that blade, Thanks for sharing your experience and knowledge.
I have more time than money so I appreciate your video, but wondering where do you get your grinding stones for the Dremel? I haven't found a grinding bit that will last very long. Thanks
I sold my mill a few year’s ago so haven’t bought any in a while. I used to get them from ace hardware, but the stone ones may not be available anymore. Ace seems to be having trouble getting a lot of stuff nowadays.
I also use a dremel only difference is I do it while the blade is on the mill. Takes me 15 minutes I only do the face and the gullet. The blades cut like a beast .
I did mine like this but maybe not as good, I have all the bits to give it a shot on the blade I have ready now, A little worried about the tooth set though , thanks
Thank you for this video. was verry helpfull and saved a lot of money by not needing to pay some one to sharpen my blades for the mill.👍👍 I can get them just as sharp as new now
What works for me is sharpening the top edge, Just the last half inch or so and barely touch it. Never have seen any problem with cracks in the gullet.
I'll give you a thumbs up Sir! I don't have a sawmill but I have a regular bandsaw that I might need to give this a whirl and see how it comes out. Thank your wife for workin the camera there at the end. Ya'll have a blessed Sunday
I have had many days like that! That's when I am glad that I know the Lord, because it's not all that gets done on the outside - sometimes it whats getting done on the inside that counts the most! Much Success to You!
Nice work, but a guy like you with so many skills and such a great shop should be doing something REAL. These blades can be sharpened by a robotic machine, but they can't design and layout and weld up something new like I am sure you can. DESIGNATE!
We're doing fine. The trailer is set up and a couple (man&woman) have moved in. Now have a carport but still lacks patio covers. Pump house hasn't changed. I've went back to work and haven't had time to video or anything interesting to video. Hope to get back on the sawmill when the grass quits growing. God bless.
Great job.
😊 This was such a beautiful video. It made me cry. I felt like you were talking to me. I would have helped you! ❤
How you guys doing?

Great video. Just a favor for me, I got poor eyes, could get the camera a little closer. Thanks, God bless
I think you got the right idea of optimum sharpening the blade with the face, back, and gullet sharpened. Thanks for sharing.
Exactly Mike, grind the full tooth profile.

I tried your way and it cuts like new.how many times can you sharpen the sawmill blades I have 11/4 wide blades
Once twice at most. The set will be gone by second sharpening. Thanks for viewing and commenting.
Great Video Skipper. This works really well.
Excellent video and I am very impressed with its contents.

This sawmill is for sale on Craig's list.
I live in Hortense and have an pecan that we recently chopped down...was wondering what you would charge to cut it up for me?
My hand wouldn't be steady enough for that. I'd ruin more teeth than I sharpened.
I like this method more than the others I have seen.
Thanks for passing your knowledge along. God bless you.
