Anyone privileged enough to watch this video was just treated to an inside look at one of the most gifted and humble actors of our time dropping jewels of knowledge on the masses! Thank you Mr. Haur for your incredible and unforgettable roles in 3 of my favorite films (Bladerunner, Batman Begins & Sin City) I plan on watching all of the films you've been in up to this point in your career and will keep an eye out for future releases. I wish you nothing but years of continued success!
While working on the RHFF in 2009 this simple "introduction video" was needed to help the 12-16yr old student who wanted to shoot a first film. They made "Butterflies" after this in two days. This video was shot in my hotelroom. I was practing what i was teaching.Later i added english subtitles. Made with joy, love, and no money.RH
You're great, Mr. Hauer! Professional in everything and you're fantastic at explaining or describing, etc. as well. Thank you for this impressive video! That's very nice of you to shoot it for us, Sir! :)
Silence is one of the most beautiful sounds. Sound is what we talk about now and music is part of that "setting." Sound is half of your picture.Sound and its composition is more important to me that the picture because it is origional it its design.Mixed, manipulated or not.It reaches the soul directly. Not too much, not to little.
I know that final cut was definitely part of the edits we worked on. I m sorry i forget what the other format was. But ofcourse people are completely free to use whatever software program they want if it suits them better
@spcmn77 This copyright thing is for protection to all. You don t want to have a finished film struggling to be seen because someone may have a claim ow ownership because you did not check enough. Music is complicated. So have someone do it or use none if you can t solve this in time.
with stories other than personal knowledge you need to know about the "axes" of what you are shooting because it will not cut together. but for these i think looking at the camera and just think out loud i think there are no rules.
Hello Rutger could you make some new vids? Massive fan - blade runner final cut, surviving the game, hitcher, split second which gave me a small cigarello addiction btw !! are my favorites. As one that went to undergrad film school in college I have to lend credence to what you say - just go for it with whatever you've got.. I'm still trying to get to that point - I just say that I'm not a writer, but it's more about being a creator I think.. the rest will fall in line with practice
Can you tell me how to position the camera to comfortably talk to it? i got a tip from will smith he said, never look directly into the camera he said look at it to the side but never at it. but i want to learn more i loved watching and learning make more of these types of video's =) I enjoy them! Thanks filmfactoryshorts!

I know Rutger is Dutch, but this is the first time I hear him speak Dutch.
een werkelijk fantastische man
That is impressive you can find it within yourself to give back and enter fresh ideas.
Mijn grote voorbeeld! Al ben ik nu student voor productmaker en niet filmmaker :)

You will be sorely missed sir Hauer

The copyrights need to be cleared, period. It is one of the very important things as they can stop you from screening your film later.
R.I.P.
