Good review. I have the GP9 with charger and 2 batteries. The GP9 is awesome. I’m just not that impressed with the batteries. Yes one battery will easily last an hour or more. But if you pull them off the charger when fully charged and let them sit 4 hours, they have lost a significant part of the charge.
Really? I left nr4 in the studio for 3 days, I just put it in now and it's on 98%. Is it cold over there? Changes in heat, especially the cold can do that to batteries.
After using them as you suggested they have gotten much better. Thanks for the advice. They have only dropped to 94% after 12 hours and seem to be holding. They get a little better as time goes on. I’ve always used the new charger not the camera. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I don't think I will be using the media mod either for GoPro9 because they fucked up the design, AGAIN! I have 2X GoPro8 with media mod, and since they are using the legs of the camera for the mounts you can not easily get the camera out of the media mod and access battery and memory card. On one of my cameras I have a battery connection issue and need to take it out to restart the camera, and with the media mod that became too much. Not using it anymore!
Yes, I've heard this about the mod, there is a cool cage coming out from Ulanzi, so I'll be dropping a review of that soon! I prefer to either use the internal mic or my Rode GO when I vlog with the GoPro, the mod as you rightly stated has its drawbacks.
@@PhillipSkraba Problem is the media mod is the best way to attach lightening and microphone. BTW - what about a video of recommended mics for GoPro that fits the media mod. Most RODE mics are too big and gets in the video, right?

You treat it like you don't need to retain its resale value, showing off that you can afford a new one anytime such need arises. That's good for you, but not the case for most of the GoPro buyers who take time to watch reviews (like yours) to decide the most efficient way to spend money. Don't judge people like that. If I feel like throwing my GoPro, I should be able to throw my GoPro without judgement from others. You don't know my situation. It would be awesome to be able to afford a new GoPro every moment the need arises, but I'm afraid you're mistaken, I can't. It's on the PGYTECH website, search for Mavic 2 mount, it should pop up.
I’m in Miami and new to Florida i moved here from Texas to do my cancer stuff in Miami since they have better treatment centers would love to have a GoPro 9 but have no money for it. 🙏🤷♂️
Good luck with the cancer stuff, I've never been to Miami, looks like an interesting place. I guess you'd have to save up for the GoPro like I did 👌🏻 I'd love to see Texas one day!
Best of luck with your treatments and I hope you find a way to purchase your camera! Texan here and looking to move to Central Florida in a few years, I love it there.
Louis Dominguez thank you for the kind words, it’s a struggle at times but I’m a fighter. I also have a @elijahbailey UA-cam channel as well. I’m new to this whole stuff. The GoPro is a lot for me right now but hopefully a sponsorship with GoPro will see this and donate one too me would be nice. 🙏
Thanks
You're welcome!
Any ideas on editing software? I’m new to this
Sure, you can download Quik, it's official from GoPro and really easy to use 🔥
Thank you, will do!
Davinci Resolve and it's free. Great software, but learning curve is a little more steep.
@@S3ndIt13 Yes, the learning curve with Davinci is legit, great stuff though, especially for pro colouring.
Do Hero7 accessories fit the Hero9?
Yes, 99% of them do. I have another film where I show all of them. These are the new ones that specifically fit the Hero 9 only.
@@PhillipSkraba They really need to use a better plastic for those clamps. I have so many where the spring feet have snapped that I'm beginning to think they do that on purpose so you have to keep buying them. I've broken the snap clips on at least a half dozen so far. I'm surprise you guys never say anything about that. I can't be the only one that has noticed this. Am I?
Hello
Hi!
It's rated for 33ft, not meters. So, it's 10m without the housing.
Yes! Totally right! I keep having to explain myself, as it was my stupid mistake. I even wrote it in the description, I had a long night, daughter wouldn't sleep, 30ft looked like 30m, my F-up, sorry about that 🙈 I even knew it was 10m, I was just blinded by fatigue.
@@PhillipSkraba All good, it happens! Pretty amazing that it can even go near water w/o a case tbh :)
@@Grub370 Yes! That's true! I remember my Hero 3+ only touched water with a huge case. Times have changed.
Why do you label your batteries
So if I have a few of them, I know which ones are dead, which ones I have left, which ones I can charge, etc. Otherwise I'm guessing and wasting time.
twice? it's waterproof to 30m?
No! I explained this in the description with a warning 😂🙈 I didn't get any sleep as my daughter had a bad night, so 30ft/30m got the better of me, and I know very well it's 10m. So please ignore that, he was talking bull. It's 10m without cage, 60m with cage 👌🏻
@@PhillipSkraba didn't get to the description part. We have to grind you a little :D
@@Vytaswashere
Yes, and I appreciate a kick in the ass when I screw up 😂
Its waterproof to 10m not 30m without housing
Yes, put that in the description right after upload. Thanks for the heads up 🔥
I’m about to by one I lost my GoPro hero in the Adirondacks last summer
You'll love it, it's such a great camera!
Sir, i like your Go pro Hero 7..
Yep, I like it too. Thanks!
👍
Thank You!
someone said that before..but yo...breathe...it is just more difficult to follow you being all hyperactive and fidgety....a good video and info...and yes..doesn't the camera flips the view automatically when upside down?
Yes, you're right! I sometimes just go blah 😂🙈 The GoPro will auto flip, so don't worry, that's just me talking rubbish being tired after my daughter didn't sleep all night 👌🏻
@@SailMermaid You have to check out the Ulanzi cages if you need something like the Media mods! The Ulanzi for the Hero 7 was awesome, then they made a super small version, and now they have made the Hero 9 cages where you can attach lights, mic and it seems to work much easier than the GoPro mod. As soon as I get it I'll make a video for you guys!
@@SailMermaid Yes, the Micro is the only one, and it needs a riser so it doesn't get in the shot, that's why I love using the Wireless Go by Rode, that's just awesome for vlogging.
@@PhillipSkraba Looking forward to that. Specially interested in how protective it will be to the battery area as there is no external connection on this one as far as I can see. Can it be used with a microphone wired to the camera?
What shirt are you wearing I like it
It's the Dodge RAM.
I like it
Yep, Dodge RAM. I got it in NAB, they give them out for free, I like it too!
2.5 hours? Are you kidding me? Mine was at 17% after using the GoPro for about 50 Minutes.
Really? Damn! What mode were you filming in? I usually hit 2 hours.
@@PhillipSkraba 4k 24fps hyper boost on. Honestly i start to think something is wrong with mine :/
@@hnfixed I'm sure it's fine, it all depends on temperatures, how many times we've charged the batteries, and I'm sure how we use our cameras.
Give me that whole case plz😄😄
Sure, there are some affiliate links in the description 😂
Sees the dodge ram shirt...
They were giving them out free at NAB, still love it!
You're rushing a bit, chill man. Haha. Also, frame yourself.
haha, damn, don't hate the player, hate the game! I'm trying to ride this GoPro 9 wave! Wait, my framing was bad? 😂
@@PhillipSkraba A little bit. Haha. Well, I'm not hating. Just a piece of advice from one of your subscriber. ☺️ I like your content, don't worry.
Not me trying to find a comment he didn’t reply on
I do my best! It's not easy, and I'm guessing it'll get harder and harder to the point where I'll have to choose who to reply to.
@@PhillipSkraba I know man I was just messing with you good job though
haha I know I know, thank You!
into music is terribly loud.. most people watch youtube at night
Sorry about that, the levels were below zero though, so at my end everything was clean.
Lots of twitch!!! Need some meds!! Couldn't watch half of it!
I'm sure you'll get some, don't worry Paula.
who else just got a hero 8 like me and got so disappointed when the 9 came out??
Why did you get disappointed?
Hero 8 is *deal breaker* for many things,9 is way better
Still on GoPro 4 Black 😛
@@djdesistorm I have the 3+ still, that was a classic!
Don’t get media mod 😂 it’s so bad built in mics are better
It's good I listened to my intuition in that case! Max Lens it is!
H9 Media Mod is a significant upgrade from H8's. Improved ruggedness and microphone performance, especially in windy conditions.
@@76thomasmatt I will have to try it out, but I think I still prefer a small metal cage and wireless mic like the Rode Wireless GO.
Everything sold out lol so annoying
Jeff Akuhei I know! 😂 I have the same problem with the Max Lens 🙈
are you going somewhere you cant take your time to talk
Yes, I think Star Wars was on.
haha lol what season
I think it was Episode VI, one of my favourites 👌🏻
Terribly careless with the equipment.
Yea, I treat it like gear, I do my best but the more I shoot the more I realise it’s meant to be used not polished 💎
You treat it like you don't need to retain its resale value, showing off that you can afford a new one anytime such need arises. That's good for you, but not the case for most of the GoPro buyers who take time to watch reviews (like yours) to decide the most efficient way to spend money. That's my opinion of cause, perhaps everybody besides me play hot potato with their gopros with lens cap removed. Peace.
@@oversemper Dude, relax, it's a GoPro, they're made to be trashed. I treat my stuff like gear, and I owned the 3+, 7 Black and now 9 Black, I saved up for every single one, and I didn't get the 8 not because I didn't want it, but because I didn't have the money for it. Don't judge people like that. If I feel like throwing my GoPro, I should be able to throw my GoPro without judgement from others. You don't know my situation. It would be awesome to be able to afford a new GoPro every moment the need arises, but I'm afraid you're mistaken, I can't. I put a lot of work into my reviews and I saved up for the Hero 9 so I could do reviews and help you guys better understand it. That's the bottom line. Thanks for dropping by 🔥
