    So I mixed a bunch of my natural hair products together and this is what happened :D I’ve been really going through it with my dry, damaged 4C natural hair and to be honest lol. I've been really struggling with moisture retention for my super dry damaged 4c natural hair. Especially since it's winter. We all know winter is the enemy of 4C hair. Winter moisturizing for dry 4C hair is the goal here. At least for 4C hair, how to maintain moisture for dry natural hair is always to question. I also think it was so weird that my tried and true Shea Moisture, Carol’s Daughter, and Eden just went and quit on me. That’s nuts. I think the main take away for me was redefining how to wash 4C natural hair.

    Shea butter, castor oil, and peppermint oil does wonders for my 4c hair. 🥰 I wasted so much money on natural products and they just dry up my hair. 🤦🏾‍♀️🥺 Ima just have to give my brother the natural products for his hair.

      How do you use the Shea butter? Stylist, pre-poo, daily sealing moisturizer? And is it yellow or ivory? I’m curious bc I purchased a tub of organic ivory Shea .. used it once and don’t want to use it again 🤦🏾‍♀️

    • @teyairrahendrix

      teahgurl I use the ivory color one. I use the brand “okay” pure natural Shea butter from Walmart. I use that mixed with castor oil and peppermint oil as a leave conditioner. Plus peppermint oil is good on the scalp. Your hair will smell refreshing along side, soft and manageable. Hope this helps. 🤗

    Great job! Just trim your ends consistently. When you twist it and you see thin ends. Trim them all off. This has helped me tremendously. Longer, Thicker, healthier 4C hair.

    • @Dougie19xx

      I have to do some research. I have no idea how to trim my own hair. 😤

    • @jciv256
      @jciv256 4 роки тому +1

      @@Dougie19xx It's actually super easy. When it takes a while to detangle your hair or you feel a lot of knots its time to trim. After you wash put your hair in many small twists. Whenever you see thin scraggly ends cut above it. Your ends should be curly, not stringy straight. It sucks at first to cut it off but it's beneficial in the long run. Also anytime you're doing your hair and you see a small knot, just cut it off. I always have scissors nearby. It sounds counterintuitive but it really isn't you're only cutting off a few inches in a year as opposed to cutting off damaged hair later. Good luck with your hair journey!

    Just wanted y’all to know that it’s LCO method. That’s the original method. People got lazy and wanted it to sound better so people started saying LOC so it could just be a whole word instead of an acronym. Liquid, cream, oil. Oil HAS to be final because it’s a sealant. It seals in the moisture. Anything on top of oil isn’t getting into your strands. That’s probably why you felt like the product didn’t ‘sink’ in. Try LCO, mama. 🧡

    Spraying a little water on hair b4 putting on oil or cream opens the hair shaft so the products doesn't just sit on top of your hair then dry up the next day. Try a regimen where you lightly spray your hair with distilled water, favorite absorbing oil(castor oil, avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oil), aloe vera juice, a few drops of your favorite essential oil(peppermint, lavender, etc). Put all those in the same spray bottle shake well then lightly spray every other day not too much as it will shrink. Yes you will loose definition but it will help retain moisture. Also most 4c types hate wash in gos in the winter, those strands will probably like a protective style better due to the cold weather.

    I've always did the LOC method on soaking wet hair.... when my hair air drys the absorption is better.

    It took me almost a year to build a regimen and to discover what hair porosity I had. It takes time and it's hard but worth it in the end.

    Hi. One month late but some suggestions.
    An Indian clay mask.. Great for your scalp and has great nutrients. Also great for clarifying your hair.
    The green house affects... Your favorite water, oil and a some conditioner in a plastic cap over night. Works wonders!
    And two of the best products I have ever used for moisture... Maui Moisture curl smootie, the best curl cream I have ever used, even against the Camille Rose twisting butter. And Aussie Moist, it's cheap but it works. Will change your life.
    Hope these help! Stay beautiful!
