Buy old horses, slaughter them for meat, and sell them at ortysia. It's at the cross section of three kingdoms, so their villages are always being raided. Once the price of meat went up to 74 due to scarcity.
Note: from my experience, if you let the villagers go to their destination and sell their wares, only the horses remain when they are returning to their village. So you can check this screen, not buy anything if they have other wares and follow them as they trade them to the nearest town. Then, when they are going back to their village you can talk to them (I believe you can also check their destination by hovering your mouse over them, if they're going to a town then they have other wares to sell and if they are returning to their village they should only have the horses with them)
My early game money maker starts with tournaments and selling gear from that. Then with that money I level smithing until I get a level 3 or 4 two handed blade blueprint then it’s all downhill from there. A crafted 2h sword with a level 3+ blade sells for 20-60k each on top of giving you anywhere between 5-9 skill points for every one crafted.
When you search for items you can filter with the button above your characters head, you scroll down so much each video, just filter them, the trade goods are the right one
The best way to make denars is to pump up endurance and smithing, then craft two handed swords incrementally by tiers until money is meaningless. My best time is about one hour from character creation to the point where denars are completely trivial and I’m gifting every lord 5k just to like me.
DroBlue I have around 130k - 200k at any time. But I have several 2handed swords in my inventory that will sell for 40k a piece and they’re hard to get that value because most cities can only afford to buy one at a time. So I have to roll into a city, take all their hardwood, throwing knives and axes for smelting, horses, and whatever else I want like armor, food etc. and THEN sell one of my swords. So I end up staying between 150k and 200k but I traded one or two of my swords for a full suit of tier 6 armor and a war horse. So it still evens out, I don’t ever think about denars. And I don’t have a workshop or caravan.
this isnt quite that profitable. often times the items from villagers are actually overpriced. the grain was average, these and butter far too expensive, to name a couple. also this might not sell for even 40 after a few batches as the towns will be overstocked and no longer want meat. the income should average out to 50-60 profit per horse if you sell selectively (estimation as you could inflate or deflate this by selling a lot at once or just a couple at a time). anyways, long story short, tournaments are better.
I would say get a workshop specifically a pottery workshop in pen cannoc It will generate enough income to cover a small parties wages, and like Droblue said, ally with a faction and work towards getting fiefs
I won't slaughter horses for meat even if it's just a game, horses are honorable than human, they carry you and save you from death when enemies try to catch you, remember that you will always be in debt to your horse no matter what you give him, you can't pay your debt, because they give you their spirit, and even outside the war circle they work harder, their works is more expensive than the food and the care they gets. that's why they are more honorable than human, they die with honor. So, please, go slay bandits instead.

I have seen selling food to war torn villages and areas is super good for making money

Yea no problem my guy!
Even after 2,000hrs
I did pretty well with buying hardwood between 10-30 and refining it into charcoal, then selling the charcoal between 45-100
That is a really good method!

I did not know this thank you very much!
buy fish from revyl and sell them in south for profit and stop killing all the old work horses if you are a pescatarian like me.

How many denars do you have?

Yea ive noticed this as well...
Can someone tell me pls which is the best money making method in early game? I just have 25 k denar, and I don't know how I should continue the game.
Dreen Try joining a faction and getting a city they tend to be the best way to generate income. Set up caravans and try to be at peace with nations

Make javalins, they sell for 400 each AND are easy to make (1 wood 1 lowest lvl iron 1 coal) lvl 40 smithing tho
Yea I will have to look into this
I make two handed swords
Amazing.
