If you ever get a chance to go to woodrat definitely take it. And stay at the crashpad BnB. Super nice place. Christina is a really chill host and she plays guitar and sings outside by a fire, it’s really a great spot. The flying has something for everyone. Smooth early thermals for a couple hours, stronger thermals and wind later, then possibly glass offs. So it’s great for pilots at different levels, just talk to the locals and you’ll have a good time.

@@SkidzFPV thanks for the heads up, I've been wanting to go there for a while. Definitely on my list of places to fly.

@@madsloperit’s been on my list for a really long time. I’m definitely going back because I haven’t quite gotten the place figured out. My best flight was an hour and altitude was 4,400’ (this flight actually). But after i landed people started getting up to 8,000’-9,000’ but you want to time it so you are as high as possible when it turns on like that. I was up an hour, but had i stayed high and was able to catch those thermals a little later i would have had a better flight. It was still great, but i was a little disappointed because i got impatient and tried some moves that got me low right before it really turned on. There’s also some very consistent convergence lines you can use if you know the area. But it’s very tricky. There’s like 5 valleys that converge here, so as you can imagine when it gets stronger the valley wind does also. It was enough to park my friend on his Zeno 2, I’d a Zeno 2 gets parked my maestro 2 light will be going backwards.
