A breeder gave me a Scottish Fold cat because his tail had an odd crook in it. Red used to wait for me to get home and then he'd tell me about his day as he walked me to my apartment. It really tickled my landlady. He was bright and loving. He stayed near me when I was home without constantly begging for attention. He was only five years old when he died of kidney failure. It broke my heart.
It is totally irresponsible to breed scottish folds. All of them suffer from ocd, an incurable disease, due to breeding. It is abhorrent to breed this breed and all who do so should be punished. It is just despicable to sell or buy these animals from a breeder.
I think I’ve been given a Scottish Fold kitten 3 days ago. It was from a friend of a family friend who has to move. The kitten is about 6 weeks old. I never met such a smart cat. She is so chill. I can leave her at night in the hallway and kitchen area and she understands. She just chills by herself, eating, playing with toys alone, sleeping, using the litter box, and repeat. We play for about an hour before work. She welcome me when I come home. She’s is such a fast learner too! Amazing breed! And her meows are so cute!
@tenzen you shouldn’t make assumptions. I adopted them thru my vet when their previous owner surrendered them. Unbelievable that you think rescuing 2 cats is a problem :(
Scottish folds are the sweetest 😊 my 4 month old is super affectionate and follows me around everywhere. He plays fetch like a dog and is very easy to train. Loves cuddles and sleeps on my lap any chance he gets. Only thing is, he’s not a fan of being picked up. If you’re thinking of getting one, make sure you can give them plenty of attention 😉

I remember one day hurting my back. I had to sit a certain way, lay my body a certain way, and walk a certain way. All of this to avoid the pain. I thought about the Scottish Fold and how they sit, walk, lay themselves down. :-( sad
My beelzebub is a double fold and he is the most precious kitty to me ever I’m so happier since I got him, he is so kind and calm and stays by my side when I’m sick.💕
My Scottish straight LOVES playing peek a boo. Definitely not a lap cat but will always be within five feet of me. He's such a clever, friendly, and sweet baby.

Yes my sweet scotish fold makes me laugh everyday. But yes takes one to two hours of commited attention and play time daily. But he knows when to break off and be independent.
I love my Scottish fold but for my 2nd kitty I decided to get a British Shorthair bc of the health problems Folds are probably going get down the road. I am scared for my kitty Saphora 😺. Late response, but a cat and dog can live together fine as long as theyre properly adjusted to each other (raising one or both of them together from a young age can help them get along) and the cat has places to escape to if they need space from the dog
If you buy one from a very knowledgeable breeder, who only breeds with cats free from the debilitating form of OCD, and offer a kitten replacement guarantee due to their confidence in breeding sound healthy kittens, you won’t have an issue. Our kittens relatives are all free from joint disease. They obviously carry the OCD gene, but don’t display, or suffer from it.
GETTING A SCOTTISH FOLD? PLEASE READ! I have a Scottish Fold from a highly regarded show cat breeder. He was bred from a straight, and a fold. He is 5 and he ALREADY has joint issues. DO NOT encourage this breed, it's so cruel to breed them into pain. I wish I'd known 😢.
I like them, but keeping breeding them is just wrong. If people like folded ear animal the shouls get a rabbit or mice, not a cat with health problems because of that.
You can get any breed in Saudi Arabia for free and a 2 month old too as many people breed them for cash and then don't want to have it for longer....check tiktok if you're interested
i have 6 cats and 4 folds and 2 others but never had any problem with any of them och felt any difference thankfully to god. I dont like the way you describe the breed because its a cat like many others and any breed with longterm inbreeding will have problems. I have a Frend that had one of the kittens die wille mine was all helthy litter. just because some have done smal tests it dont mean they are bad they are equal and deserve same loving and caring adoption family.

i really want this cat but idk where to find the breeders 😅😅 any tips?
Craigslist , look in pet section and ALL for sale , Bc usually they get flaggged so they advertise in other sections but PETs, good luck
I wanted to buy one to be a partner for my cat, but I won't now. I don't want unhealthy and potentially in pain cats. A shame they are so cute :(
same
If you buy one from a very knowledgeable breeder, who only breeds with cats free from the debilitating form of OCD, and offer a kitten replacement guarantee due to their confidence in breeding sound healthy kittens, you won’t have an issue. Our kittens relatives are all free from joint disease. They obviously carry the OCD gene, but don’t display, or suffer from it.
british shorthairs look very similar, but please try to opt for adoption :)
It's unfortunate to learn about the health issues of Scottish Fold cats.
Knowing they are all unhealthy I don't want to purchase and contribute to Scottish folds...
i looking for cat, but i dont know how to buy it
Craigslist
❤️
you are giving a wrong information
I love this breed... but will probably end up with Russian blue or British short hair!
Nonsense. They are fine and they have no health issues.
4 grand for a single cat?! Could get me a 2 acre land for 4 grand.
Awwwwwww🥰😍😘🥰😍😘
Please they don’t cost $4000
Some of you came here because you thought she was a dog
I wouldnt want one because they will probable pass at an early age. I think its a bit selfush gor humans to do that.
👍👍👍👍
“Controverial” what did he do say the n word?
