  • Our first proper look at the interior of Tycho Station, in this first scene of the station in season 5.
    Apologies if the video quality is not quite up to scratch on this one, not sure why this scene struggled a bit on my PC. Anyway, hope you enjoy.

    It was nice finally being able to see inside the inner workings of Tycho Station this season.

      Hi Duane, haven't seen you comment for a while - welcome.
      Yes they clearly put in a lot of work into this scene, being the opening episode as well. I thought it was pretty well done. Apart from the scale of The Roci. But that's another story... :)

  • @elvisibra
    @elvisibra 2 роки тому +53

    Here we have more great shots for scale purposes, final outer plate cover "brick" size, length and width of the docking bridge, etc, the Roci should be 46m, but it's probably 46 + antenna, overall ~53m, that way width, and most of other, fit almost perfectly

      I think we defo have a different opinion on the scale of The Roci & stuff :)
      But that's cool. Appreciate your comments as always.

      @@speculativefuture9568 it needs to have 14-15m body widest with port/starboard additional 1.5-2m for PDC mounts, it has to be 10-12m wide/deep on it's bow, and design ratio with those sizes would make the ship 15% longer, and with all that, for command deck positioned "the other way" to fit, ship would have to be additional 15% bigger, so command deck will never fit that way, it fits fine the other way, but everything else questionable, can be resolved by someone authorized going out with, "we were wrong, the ship is 46m + antenna" and then do some corrections for Morrigan class too: "we were wrong ship has 31m body, it's actually with 2.5m of engine cone 33.5m + antenna. What are your complaints about scale?

      @@elvisibra I'll discuss scale another time Elvis. Got some work stuff I have to finish before bedtime.

      @@speculativefuture9568 I know what's the issue, example: galley deck, mid corridor 8-9m long, has up down ladder in the middle, and one room-two part galley to the left, and short corridor to the right separating on that side two rooms(each room size of half galley, one of them is CO's quarters, and why those small rooms have 2 doors positioned on two different walls, it's unknown🤣)now both galley and that corridor have a door, set across each other at 8-9m distance, and on top of all that there are 2 "outer" corridors that mid corridor connects to on both ends, adding 4 more meters on those 8-9, and it's probably the same thing behind those 2(galley-and across)doors, so it turns out that the deck is 12 to 13-14m × 12 to 13-14m, so what's the catch? How does the outer hull fits? Those "outer" corridors and space behind galley and across doors are space between inner and outer hull, and I know that show makes them look like they are walking for days when appearing from those "outer" corridors, that's to create more fluid shots and sense of purpose, either than that B.S. TV show off, else is acceptable..

      @@elvisibra lol, I just wanna add this in here because I see your comment on so many expanse videos. It seems like each time the Speculative Future wants to say something along the lines of "Sounds good, well discuss later." That signal seems to go way past your head. It's like you can't tell socially when the conversation is over or when they are trying to politely end it haha.

    Tycho Station is by far my favorite location in all of The Expanse. A true testament to the greatness man can build in space.

      "A true testament to the greatness man can build" with CGI to be sure. A real station of that magnitude in space that far from Earth would cost more money than there are stars in the universe. It feels more likely that idiots in power across the planet, each wanting more than the others, will cause mutual destruction on a global scale leaving us not only without awesome space stations but also without the very planet we live on. This is a real threat until the average IQ of humans in power rises well above 100 and humanity becomes more important than money.

      Unfortunately S4 is a no go on UA-cam, hence the reason there are no S4 clips on my channel. All scenes longer than say around 15 secs are immediately blocked on upload. I had to move all S4 clips to my Vimeo Channel, to which there are links in the description of each of my uploads if you're interested.
      The clip you requested is on my Vimeo channel.
