I've viewed this performance quite many times now. I think this is my favorite interpretation. Fitting performance of a Russian Orchestra performing a beautiful piece from a Russian composer. It flows like a story with all the highs and lows. Well done.
Бодрое динамичное исполнение со множеством интересных акцентов, которые можно услышать и оценить благодаря профессионалам-исполнителям. Вобщем свежо и увлекательно! Дирижёру отдельное большое спасибо!!!
Thank you for posting this magnificent work. It was this timeless piece that introduced me to classical music in 1967, when I was in the tenth grade of high school. I was hooked at once, especially after the breathtaking Adagio, which remains my all-time favorite piece of classical music. It is refreshing, too, to see the conductor being so emotionally moved by it.
This is around the tenth time I have viewed this particular performance. Compared with the other Rachmaninov Second Symphony recordings, this is right at the top. And I agree with other commentators, Maestro Sladkovsky is a real pro. Wherever he conducts, he seems to bring out the best. Thanks for posting and Best Wishes for the New Year! What a special performance. Of all the recordings on UA-cam, I believe this orchestra plays with the most emotionally ambitious interpretation. Such beautiful resonance!
La plus belle symphonie, celle qui me bouleverse le plus, quelle composition, et quelle interprétation ! J'en suis ému aux larmes.
One of the greatest symphonies of all time in my opinion.

It's the best performance of the symphony I've ever heard.
Suggest you compare with Kurt Sanderling / Leningrad & Andre Previn / NHK Tokyo....
One of the best rendition I ever heard..Bravo for the Conductor and the solo clarinetist in particular and the entire symphony..

Just a wonderful performance. Perfectly captured in this recording.
Very melodious & Devine interpretation which only a Russian conductor & a Russian orchestra can achieve.

The end of the 4th movement is painful compared to that of Maestro Petrenko and Oslo Symphony. Sorry, but this is definitely not for me.
