This song gets hate for not being super hyped like the other openings, but it's by far my favorite. It either gives you this weird sense of hope or dread. Either way its my favorite OP.

As much slack this opening gets for it being different to the other Attack on Titan openings, Red Swan is probably one of my favourite Attack on Titan opening and it’s criminal if you decide to skip it.
I believe they chose this type of song instead of Linked Horizon is because the first part of Season 3 was mainly about the humans, the relationship between Levi and Kenny and the framing of the Scouts. The opening fits with these themes instead of your usual Linked Horizon opening which are all mainly focused on the Titans.

This song brought me to tears, as weeby as it sounds. I remember listening to the full version as i stubbornly sat outside on the porch on a snowy night with my dog, after we realized that she would die. In the span of a week she had lost function of her limbs and could only lay there and be cared for. The doctors said she probably had degenerative myelopathy but they were closed when she suddenly got really bad. I just laid next to her and was going to watch youtube to help me feel better and the full version of red swan popped up. For some reason the melody and meaning of the music appealed to my emotions at the time and i started recalling the past and cried with my headphones in. I tried to stay out all night but just took her in and she died soon after, weirdly enough. I havent listened to the song since and it made me so emotional, especially the second half, i guess thats why i just wanted to leave this comment and force myself upon the strangers of youtube

I'm not familiar with the piece (definitely like it though) so I was following it along so I knew what to expect and to try to decide whether to attempt to learn it; and it was just really jarring to suddenly hear nothing instead of the notes I was expecting - honestly I was expecting someone else would've already pointed it out 😂
