The full stat breakdown if you wish to compare between different classes. The lower value represents tier 1 and the larger number represents tier 3+. If the number is the same then there is no change between the different tiers eg primary weapons will remain constant for that class. I didn't include the abilities and passives as they are unique to each class making it difficult to compare and it will end up being what each player will prefer. Also these are only the base stats that will change depending on your equipment and mainframe expansion. Hope this helps. Edited to reflect I got the shield passive wrong for the Vindicator, thanks for spotting that Mantose262. The more drones you have the lower the shield percentage you have. The higher shield percentage is meant to represent a full re-animator stack rather than all drones summoned. The fewer drones summoned the higher the shield percentage. I had it reflected like that in my notes but when recording I mixed them up and didn't notice while editing so it is all on me, sorry for any confusion I may have caused. (I know it's late, but...) In case anyone didn't know: With the Gunship, if you can keep the killstreak going, the enemies will struggle to keep up with the Armor Repair (as your ship repairs a portion of it's armor with each kill. And since Gunships have the largest Armor bonus of all ships...)
The Interceptor is a good all rounder, but I enjoy the gunship more purely due to how quickly it can delete enemies, at the same time you must conserve your energy as it runs out fast making for some tactical play instead of just blasting everything in sight.
@@topchopmain I would argue that the doubled energy consumption is way less of a downside than the game makes it out to be, because the Gunship has (kind of) double the energy recovery rate of every other class minus the Interceptor and the Striker. The reason is unlike in ES1 where you had a single energy bar that was shared between all your weapons, devices and the boost, in ES2 every single weapon and the boost has its own energy bar. That coupled with the fact that the Gunship has 3 primary slots makes it so you have two weapons regenerating at the same time, as opposed to most other ships' one. The exceptions to this are, like I said, the Interceptor and the Striker, which themselves have 3 primary slots.
Thank you for this guide. I just got this game via gamepass and have really been enjoying it. I enjoyed everspace 1, but wanted to wait for release v1.0 before trying 2, and it seems great! But the approach is so different, this guide has been very helpful. My favourite so far, after trying 3 ships, is the bomber, but I am yet to try the drone ship!
Depending on the ship class, I find the potential passives can be worth investigating. Taking the Vindicator as an example, I tend to favor 'drones regen hull points' and '+1 max drones'.
Definitely, my gunship has the coil gun turret which I like and the turret may attack mines passive which i don't like. I enjoy using my gunship but at the same time I'm frequently visiting different ship dealers looking for one with better passives.
Nice video, wish I had this breakdown on launch as it took me a while to figure things out between all the ship types. Currently using a striker with aoe in mind, using the tether, emp, and the device that infects targets and then blows up after 6 seconds. It's been pretty fun. get in tether, emp, infect, then teleport out before it all blows up. Just wish there was a device that sucked ships in, like a gravity well or something to help with the tether and spread.
@@topchopmain No I don't think so, but would be a cool mechanic to put on a mine or missile, 'when target is struck, pulls nearby ships into it for some collision damage' and then you could combo with the anchor and device for some nice big aoe damage
It might be because I'm still a very small channel. I don't know how youtube chooses what to show and what not to. Glad you were able to find it now though
(About the Vindicator) Wrong. Spawning drones will reduce your max Shields, than increasing it. But the pros outweigh the cons. Such as that they have the firepower to do most of the fighting for you. As well as drawing agro.
Yep I got that mixed up while recording, even though my notes about it were correct. It is completely on me not to notice the mistake which is why I have left the correction in the pinned comment. Thanks for noticing and commenting about it
Just a video tip, it would be great if you can add on subtitles because your accent is a little hard to understand some times(Even though I love your accent). Screenshots of the things you are talking about would be great too. Amazing guide, looking forward to more
This is great information! Love the quick run through and descriptions. I only wish I had more context for the stat numbers, are they high or low for this ship vs others?
Thanks for the feedback, I did add some context for certain attributes such as speed and handling but I didn't consistently give context as I thought that I didn't want to waste any viewers time. Would you like me to add the stats as a pinned comment so you can compare whenever you wish?
comment to give you a bump in the allmighty algorythm. also thanks for the info. helped a lot please consider to put the stats of what you are speaking of (ships, weapons etc...) as text overlay into the video next time that would be very helpful so we can pause and have a good look. else this is a pretty good video and your editing is also nice. good job, I like it
@@topchopmain I really appreciate how much effort you put into this video. especially the editing. I made some videos and I *hate* editing. please keep this on that is the way. I think. or not. dont listen to me I' not a successful youtuber 😀
I might be remembering wrong from the game, but I think the drone and shield thing for the Vindicator works the opposite of what you described in the video. If you have no drones your shield is higher. Each drone you summon lowers your shield strength.
I think you right, good job spotting that. I believe I misunderstood Re-animator stacks for the number of drones spawned. I initially had it like that but when I saw my notes showing higher shield % for full re-animator stack I somehow translated that into saying higher shield % there more drones are summoned which is incorrect.
But Everspace 2 is a purely single player game with no online elements, and the devs have said that they have no plans to implement multiplayer features.
Your comment made me realise I didn't actually mention the bomber by name, but I did show it off and in the video and the chapter mark mentions it as the bomber, so it is a mistake on my part but the context should make it simple to realise that I'm talking about the bomber. Good catch though.

I've been using the interceptor throughout my run, finally upgraded to tier 4. Now saving up for a new ship type, thinking of trying out the gunship!

Vindi is personally my fave ship type, the drones are a fairly reliable force multiplier
Thanks for the video, currently using the sticker and I love it, later I might change it for the gunship
Good choice, just beware as the gunship is very slow and sluggish so you will need to tank some hits that you are used to avoiding.

The vidicator armor modifier doesn’t buff ship armor for each drone. It decreases ship armor for every active drone.
