This guy is hilarious. He’s old and enthusiastically describing every horrible aspect of getting old in full detail with same positive excitement as if it’s all totally fine lol.
I mean, mental health is evenly important, if it is not more important than physical health. So by by making fun of it and smiling, he's helping his mental health aging processes.
At the very end, when he said “I would trade in my knees to hug one of my granddaughters any day,” I almost cried and I don’t know the guy! That statement sums up aging for human kind very well!
This is helpful. No one ever tells you what is normal wear and tear vs something really wrong. Every change feels like something new that’s wrong. No way to know what’s pathology and what’s aging. Videos like this are great!
Everyone of us is aging, and the science behind aging is something we need more information. We appreciate this channel for giving us sufficient knowledge on these topics all the way through.
I really enjoyed watching this episode. This guy brings out great presence of joy on teaching and it shows. Thanks Wired for another fun episode. They have been fun to watch now for awhile. Does this guy have a youtube channel?
You think it's scary now? Wait till you're 40 or 50 and already well into it. That's why it's best to enjoy your life and always be learning or growing
if i were you i would do stuff to prevent these age related problems, exercissing is pretty good as it makes the bloodflow throughout the body more effektiv which might help with the heart problems
My respects to Dr. Jeffery Laitman. I loved the way you teach this topic. Wired, please we need more of him. P.D. Those granddaughters are well lucky for having such a great grandpa.
Can I go back to school and have you for every science class? Describes everything so well, and more importantly, in a fun and interesting way! Please, have this treasure do more videos.
This guy is salt of the earth. Such a warm, sage treatment of such a dire subject. That said, aging isn't all bad. I've been around old people all my life. As you age you also get dumber. This can be a saving grace. You are less apt to be offended by life, and more apt to find yourself in a wonderland. My mom lived to 100. She loved CSI. When she watched an episode she would forget it in fairly short order, and be just as thrilled by the same episode a week later.
I watched 3 minutes and I instantly realized how little time we actually have on this planet, life really is precious (depending on your point of view). 3 minutes of this video is making me feel like appreciating and enjoying life more and pursuing my dreams XD. Thx.
Wanna be more depressed? I’m twice your age: 62 Yet I can very clearly remember being 31 like it was last month. How the last 31 years went by so freaking fast is a great mystery to me because the first 31 seemed to crawl. So hang on tightly, son, because if you blink you’ll suddenly find that you are 62 and ready for retire. TIME is life’s most precious commodity. Don’t waste one single bit of it on frivolous activities or doing things you detest.

You shouldn’t fear death. It’s just a moment in life. Like a good meal or a good movie, or a good bath. Death is a short moment of life that we all experience then it’s over. No biggie. Alsoooo, old age is a luxury not afforded to many. Remember that and how many billions of humans died early in life.
@@wallowsrryhow do you know that??? No one knows owns what happens when we die. Also we don’t even have free will on this planet in this life. Go watch Sam Harris talk about why humans don’t have free will. Our entire lives are controlled or simulated by something else.
What was it like like for the last billion years? Nothing because you didnt exist. So when you die its nothing. There is no point in worrying about it.
I'm only 22 and messed up my knee in high school then was an electrician apprentice for two yrs which did them even worse, I use the saying I'm supposed to be young but feel like I'm 40 and it's sadly way wayyyyyyy too accurate
Thank you very much. I'm passed all the aging markers[?]. I have a number of these symptoms, but not all - thank goodness. Very fine report with a little bit of humor never hurts during the telling. Explains some of what the doctor is checking for during the regular visits.
12:09 That's a child's x-rays, he's pointing to the metaphysis of the bones, they aren't actually broken. That's cartilage to allow room for future bone growth and it eventually hardens
I would like to see a follow up of this informative video, especially atrophy of the brain, and vascular system, and how intermittent fasting can change our bodies on a cellular lever . How can we change and protect ourselves more, and what can we do about hearing loss. Something I'm concerned about in later life as I get tinnitus which can affect hearing. What are the preventative measures can we take to gain overall better health.
Just remember, if you take good care of your body, you can slow down the aging process. Maintain good overall health, and it'll take much longer for many of these things to occur.
Learning more about the effects of aging on the body never gets old.
You have aged more than 1hr since you have posted this comment...😂
I see what you did there
I guess it was only a matter of time before someone said that
This is new 😂😅
A new joke was born

It’s is fine. Old age is a luxury not afforded to many.
But, you know aging is actually pretty normal. And that makes it more funny.
Age doesn't matter as long as the matter doesn't age.
At the very end, when he said “I would trade in my knees to hug one of my granddaughters any day,” I almost cried and I don’t know the guy! That statement sums up aging for human kind very well!
This man is so funny, explains things in a great way, yet has aged very well😉
He knows all the knowledge of aging, and does the opposite to counter it.
That's right, he knows by medecin education and practice about aging processes, and by he's own aging body too@@destructoooo
plot twist: he is 40 years old
has aged very well? 🤔
This video made me feel an overwhelming sense of dread and terror, appreciate it!
Right?! When he kept saying that things start to go south in the 30s I (a 30 year old) was like 😮 lol

After watching this and being 61 years old I realize I’m doing pretty good for my age, thanks, good video
