I remember I was playing this game while 9/11 happened. I was like 7 years old. My older sister told me I had to come to the tv because there was something very bad and spectacular going on live on tv. I was like: "wtf I'm playing Rayman leave me alone"
I don't think it was his first time playing it. He must have had some experience. I own the PS game and the PC game and the cage locations are very different. I have only owned the PC one for a week and I didn't know where most of the cages were before watching this. He got close to dying a few times like in Mosquito's nest when the mosquito chased him and the two blue enemies on the ledges. 14:33 or there abouts. That was always difficult for me because you have to jump at the right time to not get hit and consequently jump backwards into the mosquito and die. Still it was very well done. It makes me jealous and not want to play the game anymore but still well done.
I loved Rayman as a kid in the late 90s. We never had much money and I wanted it so badly. I think I got it as a birthday or Christmas gift. One of the best and most memorable experiences. Later on I was lucky enough to get Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. The former of which I could never finish because the last level was so hard and I was scared of the Knaaren in Rayman 3 but I still managed to finish it and I loved the atmosphere and the music of the game. Especially Summit beyond the clouds and I loved the swimming. Thanks for bringing back joy to others.
You are so lucky !! I'm looking for this game so much. I started to play at this when I was 2 years old and now I'm 24. Good memories for sure !! It's the best rayman game for sure
I really liked this playthrough because it shows getting the powers first and leaving all the cages behind, for later to come back and get all the cages simultaneously. So no matter what you need help with it's easy to find in the video. Choosing the route to get the powers first was really smart, I'm gonna do that from now on!
DOS version includes some of the character voices (Albeit a pitch deeper, I think there's something up with the audio) 2:10 Betilla's dialogue sound is straight up missing? 7:48 Tarayzan 42:47 The Musician 3:29:08 Rayman? (I dimly recall if you leave him to stand idle you'll hear him say 'hello there') 3:36:45 Joe (+maybe the firefly?) 3:57:20 Mr Dark laughs 4:00:54 The ending with generic unseen npc voices I'm guessing it was made especially for the PC version or they just sound so daft that they were left out for PS1.
This game has diabolical fucking difficulty. I played it when I was very young and never even got close to finishing it... Recently the game popped into my mind and I thought to download it again thinking "I'm older, I shouldn't find this as hard as I did when I was a wee lad". Fuck that. What an exercise in frustration.
For a moment I was confused why those blackscreen cutscenes were so unfamiliar and levels were there that I've never seen. Then I realized this is the PC version.
his so cute! i played the ps1 version back in 2000. but the pc or DOS version looks superior (like always) it's so colorful for it's time! 1995? it's incredible!
My brother told me to try and complete this 8 years ago. My 6 year old mind made me scream and break the controller.7 years later I finally beat the game.
Amazing game i remember getting my PS1 This game, Tekken 2 or 3 and Final Fantasy from my dad. This game was so hard though! couldn't finish it and was stuck in the 2nd map i think. Almost 23 already..
19:28 i wonder why this level was only on computers and not on any of the console versions?... of all the stages to change, why that 1 and why just the 1st section?
Came here to see how far in I made it as a kid and what the final boss looks like. Seems like I did better than I remembered, made it right up until the end but could never find all of the cages to unlock the last level.. there's an evil clone rayman, woah
Yeah, it give rayman his limbs back, it gives everybody limbs, you see, the reason he doesn’t have any is because your bad at the game, it tracks if you beat rayman 1 and if you *DID*, it’d give rayman his arms and legs, but you obviously didn’t you fricking twig
Which is the rayman game where you had quiz-parts included (if you answered wrong you went inside wrong way and bounced on big bad evil starlike figure) ?
I know I'm 6 years late but I was trying to play this game but the DOS has it sped up to almost 200% speed, did you face this issue/know how to slow it down?
What the heck? I’ve played this game so much as a kid and remember everything, except I never remember those credits or any of those levels starting from the candy level.
Ya gotta rescue everyone then the stage unlocks. It's why he just rushes the power ups then comes back to save them. Know it's late, but that's why ya probably didn't see the candy level.
Awesome playthrough of Rayman 1 for PC! The PC version sure is a great port of the game, although I never understood why they changed the cage placements. Have you also considered doing complete playthroughs on Rayman Gold and Rayman By His Fans for the PC? They're both great 2D Rayman classics, as well as the original game! Plus, the franchise wasn't really milked to death. UbiSoft just made 3 spin off games with the Rabbids that eventually turned into its own series, then made 2 fresh new decent 2D Rayman games afterwards, but then started doing nothing with the franchise but make a smartphone game to celebrate Rayman's 20th Anniversary and are just producing extra little bits of content for it.
Stop at Rayman 2? What about stopping at Rayman 3? Rayman 3 is my favourite Rayman game. Rayman 2 was good too, though, although I strongly dislike all 2D variants of Rayman (the first Rayman, Rayman Origins, Rayman Legends etcetera).
Abdalkarim Alamodi this is the hardest game i ever played (many people, including me, had nightmares with this game, its gorgeous and frustrating at the same time).
Emishimaru - Sama There were many many versions of this game. These are the ones I played: MS-DOS version. PSX version. Sega Saturn version. Atari Jaguar version. GBA version.
He got damaged.... This will not be a good playthrough..... Guess again he know what he is doing for avoid break all cages...^^. Love when this guy had only one health left and still know what he is doing and make it to the end 👍👏👍👏. Yes, I beat this game and die more than hundreds of times....as kid almost give up during the Blue Moutain World lol. But, after switch to Lomax and complete that then got some drive to comeback for it again and completed it ^0^. Great playthrough here I enjoyed watch it through whole video and remember when i played this in 90s. This guy would come out of war as a war hero lol while me as someone who survived the war and end up in coma with hundreds of wounds 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
This game is pure anger management training. I failed 😂 never made it past those brown rotating things in the music land. And back then you could actually play a game on a regular PC and didn’t need a high end gaming pc to work a game 😅
Gba version is a port from this version but unfortunately it has worse graphics and audio, also the screen is zoomed but at east the difficult is easier
i use to play this game on the ps1 back a long time ago. never completed the game though. was a fun game silly watching it again lol. It felt like a rip off of super mario sorta
Thank the lord somebody finished this! this game has an important place in my childhood memories but I am not skilful enough to finish it.
+lowerlowerhk Same man, same. And I don't have my PS1 or game anymore either...
lowerlowerhk i still have it for PC, its very difficult this game
Благодаря ему
I have this game on my pc now, it actually became easy to me cuz i beated this game many times, its still a great game.
@@iaeddeai9281 very tough indeed. I don’t wanna see the end here and be spoiled. I’m trying to beat it the old fashion way.
I remember I was playing this game while 9/11 happened. I was like 7 years old. My older sister told me I had to come to the tv because there was something very bad and spectacular going on live on tv. I was like: "wtf I'm playing Rayman leave me alone"
Arthur Lecomte HAHAHAHAHHA
Epic story
Omg 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Maximo Duke probably really obvious to everyone but i'm gonna say it for the people in the back: this is fake, don't do this
same with me except I was playing red alert 2
*PERFECT!* This person beat the game without any deaths!
I really liked how he looked when he died
I don't think it was his first time playing it. He must have had some experience. I own the PS game and the PC game and the cage locations are very different. This is still one of the best platformers of all time. Beautiful.
Though It Is too bad It has a slightly worse Issue than DKC about giant characters sprite for a small screen >.
Emishimaru - Sama no
PS1 version is the definitive version Michel Ancel cut
@@RobertK1993 Nowadays Rayman Redemption is better

One of the greatest games of all time. Top notch difficulty too.
Prince of Persia 2D, Aladdin, Lion King, Rayman... the feelings man

The best platform game ever. Also part of my childhood. Graphics were far better than any other 2D platform game from the 90s.
4:46 Rayman is such a thug life
Electoon Cage: Help Me!
Rayman: Bitch do I look like I care
Damn, it all comes back to me :)
24:25 The level I've never been able to pass!
I grew up with this version of Rayman 1.

The iOS and Android version of this game uses this engine.

oh boy, nostalgia kicks in. i loved this game so much, especially the map editor
Remember I played one game of Rayman on pac as a kid in the early 2000's but not sure if this was the one. Definitely know it was 2d from memory

Rayman Brain Games? Something along those lines
in 90's when vdo games are more hardcore than now a day.
Hardcore meaning difficult to beat? Dark Souls is infamously hard

I could never get past the music level, this game was hard af

Yea I think so

I think the mobile version was directly based off the dos version here
My oldest cousins got that game for the PS1 since I’m was a kid

What do you mean "milked it til death" ? I dunno much about the sequels.
Meant like Assassin’s Creed series that gets a new game released every other year
How do I get the music running under dosbox? It doesn't work for me.
Ryan Good You need to mount the soundtrack to a drive (D for example). And the RAYMAN.BAT file to another drive (C for example). Then run RAYMAN.BAT.
Good skill bro
Nice!!
Is it from real hardware or dosbox? Greetings/Niklas
hahah the music land ... gold times....
